  1.
  2. I am a Hindu. I am deeply concerned regarding the welfare of Hindu Temples and their connected institutions and Charities. I place on record the following objections to the proposed alienation of lands belonging to Sri Arthanareeswarar Temple, (known as Sri Nareeswarar Temple in Veerasozhapuram Village) Kallakurichi Taluk and District or its connected endowments for the claimed purposes of building a District Collectorate office, Kallakurichi District, Tamil Nadu
  3.
  4. Sri Arthanareeswarar temple, Veerasozhapuram village belongs to Saivite Sampradaya and therefore is a denominational temple protected under Article 26 of the Constitution of India
  5.
  6. Sri Arthanareeswarar temple, has not had trustees or Board of Trustees having qualifications mandated by Section 25-A of the Tamil Nadu Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments Act, 1959 (hereinafter referred to as the 1959 Act in this communication for brevity) for more than a decade. In the absence of Trustees, no proposal or resolution can be made by a servant of your Department claiming to be “Fit Person” of temples to alienate the properties of the said temples. Therefore, the alienation proposal cannot originate from the Executive Officer or any other government servant
  7.
  8. You are therefore requested not to proceed to approve the proposal of alienation of the 14.09 hectares (about 35 acres) of lands for the price stated in the notice dated 23.09.2020 published in a paper as it is illegal, arbitrary, indented to be carried out by persons who have no legal authority over the temple and without following the due process laid down in law and by various Government Orders and directives. You are called upon to reject the proposal of alienation in the interest of the temple concerned.
  9.
  10. My communication in this regard should be acknowledged and taken into consideration during the proposed meeting to approve the illegal alienation of land
