  1. The channels flicked by, one after another, all with similar headlines. Murders, shootings, stabbings; all the same stuff, every single day. It was almost like a list of job applications by now as she memorized all the more interesting suspects. A simple murder just wasn't enough, was it? 'Serial killers are the best,' she thought to herself, 'because they'll more than likely stay longer than a one-timer. The longer, the better.' And so, with a light chuckle escaping the woman's lips, the channels flicked by at a faster rate. Murder, shooting, stabbing, murder, shooting, stabbing-- and there it was. A ridiculous name for a serial killer is shown, and is usually followed by 'strikes again,' or 'still at large.'
  2. Memorizing the silly nickname the media has given to the killer, the woman took a moment from her daily routine to think. The flicking stopped on a story about a train wreck. Three dead, four seriously injured. Video of women and men weeping in a similar fashion flashed on the screen before it moved on to a story about rising gas prices. With an inaudible sigh, she turned off the television and brushed back the dull brown bangs that had miraculously made their way over her eyes. 'Disgusting color,' she thought to herself as she looked over to her beloved blonde wig in the corner of her room. That color was much nicer than her boring, shitty brown. The sound of rubber on smooth flooring took her out of her thoughts. "Lawliet," a quiet, yet strong voice spoke, "the meeting is in two hours. I do hope you'll be ready by then?" Yes, that was her, wasn't it? Lawliet. A fitting name. Boring, yet intriguing. "Yes, I believe I can manage that," she drawled in response. The noise of footsteps walking off filled her mind as she rubbed the sleep from her eyes. She turned back on the television. A local business was burned down. That idiotic media name for the serial killer ran by her mind once again. As a smile crept it's way onto her lips, she thought to herself. 'Yes,' she thought, 'I think I'll pay them a visit today.' The meeting could be postponed, but her new client was waiting. She got up from her bed to get ready.
