  1. Hundreds of fabric strips have been painstakingly stitched together to form this vibrant, colourful backpack. No strip is the same size and shape as any other, though none is more than an inch thick. Skillful hands have arranged each piece with care, and the backpack is sturdy and professionally finished, making it perfectly durable for active use. The patterns in the fabric pieces are as varied as the hues. Some patches show simple, two-tone stripes or polka dots, while others contain tiny riots of busy, full-spectrum activity. Many of the fabric strips seem to have no discernable pattern at all, the overall shape of their designs lost when the scrap was cut. The patterns are consistent only in their variation from one patch to the next. Two thick, comfortably padded canvas shoulder straps attach to the colourful pack for easy portability. The interior is lined with undyed silk, and several pockets of different sizes are stitched into the lining for easy organization of even the tiniest of the owner's belongings. The backpack closes with a silken drawstring and a broad flap, which covers the top of the pack and secures to the front with a large, flat brass button. Faintly etched into the surface of the button is the image of a sunflower in full bloom.
