POWER NOTES
- His magic is basically whatever we need for the plot. lbr here.
- He excels at healing and defensive spells. Knows a number of spells that specialize in freezing targets. Water and Space/Light tend to be his best elements
- Very good mage with a lot of potential, but still could be beaten out by mages with more experience or raw power.
- Has the innate ability of regeneration (or regen for short). He'll quickly heal from any injury.
- Can regrow limbs, but it's uncomfortable and disturbing for everyone.
- Only ways to kill him: decapitation, starvation, dehydration, blowing him to smithereens, magic probably
- Still feels pain since those dang nerves keep repairing themselves too.
- The power isn't unique. It's RARE (somewhere along the lines of 1 in ~500k with slightly higher rates among lineages with high magic power), but he's no chosen one.
- Regeners are born with the ability, and it's discovered at some point in childhood.
- That said, very little else is known about the power because regeners tend to DISAPPEAR from the human population not long after they're discovered.
- Since Regeners can quickly recover from blood loss, they are very valuable to vampires and having one is something of a status symbol. So not only will vampires try to kidnap a regener when discovered, but some humans are willing to sell regeners for a fortune.
- What happens to Regeners after vampires get them is unknown.

HISTORY
- Second child to Olaf Craig and his wife. Has a sister 5 years older than him.
- Mom was a talented musician and skilled in magic.
- His sister is a talented musician and has normal levels of magical skill. Either she doesn't have any odd powers, or it's not anything detrimental to her life.
- Took a few years to figure out his power, but there were signs something was off- he never got the typical infant illnesses or rashes. Olaf was protective, but no more so than he was for his older sister.
- They figured out when he was 4, after he got hurt and healed in front of his parents.
- Started becomming pretty isolated, but there were an attempt or two to try to let him have some normalcy (usually pushed by his mom). There would be playdates with guild's children like Rean that were heavily supervised. He was sent to school for a couple weeks when he was 6, but an incident on the playground that got him skinned knees put a quick end to that.
- After that, he became completely cut off from the world. He had to stay home all the time, not interact with anyone outside his family, and not do anything that'd risk exposure. Olaf meanwhile did everything he could to bury the fact he had a son. Fiona was given more freedom to attend school and what not, but was strictly forbidden from acknowledging she had a brother.
- As some point, he lost his mom. Likely killed by vampires or something else.
- Age 8, Olaf brings home Rean to live with them. Rean has amensia and Elliot doesn't know why beyond "his parents died". Thrilled to have someone around his age, Elliot quickly attaches himself to Rean.
- Sometime later, Elliot and Rean decided to sneak out of the house at night to see what it's like because kids will be kids. They get attacked by the monster and Elliot gets injured enough to pass out for a bit. When he wakes up, he's back home and told that dad came to save him. the truth is that Rean's powers went berserk and killed the monster.
- After that night there's a change in Elliot and Rean's relationship. Rean becomes more protective, but also more distant. Ironically this likely made Elliot become *more* clingy out of fear of losing Rean and becoming completely alone.
- When his sister reached adulthood, she decided to live go out and try to live a normal life. As such, contact with her became very limited.
- Rean decided to become a vampire hunter and begins training, using it as an excuse to unperson himself because Rean's got issues. Elliot, worried about Rean and really scared of losing another person, decides to take matters into his own hands also insists on becoming a vampire hunter. His dad and Rean are against this plan, but eventually relent.
- Begins training and is found to be medicore to poor on physical skills, but highly skilled with magic. He works really hard to become a strong mage and not suck as much at the rest.
- Completes training. Rean and Elliot get assigned to monitor a town in a remote part of the empire while staying at an old outpost hidden in the forests. In other words, far away from any real heavy vampire action. Which is kinda lame, but Elliot's just glad he can do things like sneak into town once and awhile.
- Have been at this location awhile by the time Crow shows up.
