  3. Lone Traveler Therion Solo Route Notes (Adam Hat + Empowering Necklace Route - has the C4 mandatory 3% and a non-mandatory 3% in the Empowering Necklace, as well as several 55%+ steals. There are no 8%/15% steals.)
  4.

  7. Status: Complete with sample video
  8.
  9. Sample Video: https://youtu.be/Y1DquhATV5I (1h7m5s commentated; not exactly the same as the below route but close enough. More solo Therion reference videos can be found on the channel as well.)
  10.
  11. This is a solo route for Therion that gets the Adamantine Hat + Empowering Necklace and changes other minor things. It is still similar in time to the route that does Kit and gets Chakra Band. It assumes you KO a Cait and tries to do more grinding on the way to speed up Tomb of Kings. The primary difference with this route is tagging Quarrycrest for Wind M, so that Therion can get a spare Wind L later, but it is otherwise the same as the previous Cait route.
  12.
  13. It does have a mandatory 3% steal with Northreach's Empowering Necklace. If you'd like to skip this, you can try to steal Empower Bracelet in Noblecourt (still just 15% even at L24, which is the highest we reach pre-Darius) or use Empower Ring + Nourish S + Knight Shield (buy this in Marsalim but makes money tight at end) + Adam Hat + just a tiny bit extra HP or Defense (you can opt to tag VH for the Nourish M steal in the entrance just before C3 to have reasonable decent odds at 55% usually or something like tagging Stonegard for its Tough M nut steal in the entrance). Note though that while this works to replace the 3%, it's not as fast as just getting lucky soon enough, plus it makes the fights more risky and dangerous in Tomb of Kings and against Orlick/Gareth (you will almost always need to heal against Orlick, costing a turn, and you are more likely to wipe versus Gareth, etc). One other alternative is to get a Chubby Cait, which may give you the levels you need to just use Empower Ring and skip the rest (Empower ring is the house NPC's steal item next to Barham in C2 and is a 55%+ steal after returning to C2).
  14.
  15. Notes:
  16. - Prepare Buffer glitch beforehand if you need setup/practice.
  17. - This assumes an early Cait, but you can adjust or use parts of the non-cait route instead if you need.
  18. - If you ever skip or miss an encounter, you can opt to force it or take another later to make it up. Likewise if you have extra encounters, you can opt for safer stats to skip them.
  19. - If you get JP early, you may learn and equip skills/passives early. Just adjust EXP/JP/etc as needed.
  20.
  21. Notation:
  22. DBP = Donate BP, AC = Armor Corrosive, FS/BZ/LB = the two hit scholar spells, and other acronyms are often skills
  23. EM = Evasive Maneuvers
  24. EfaE = Eye for an Eye, and similar for other acronyms as well
  25. TP = Teleport
  26. C = Chapter
  27. x2,x3,x4 = boost with 1 BP, 2 BP, or the max 3 BP respectively. x1 is not used but would be 0 BP and a normal move.
  28. S+Q = Save and Quit and reenter the game to reset/reload the encounter rate
  29. Reload/Reset = usually exit and reenter a screen to reset the encounter rate
  30. Buffer Glitch = use the Buffer Glitch to gain access to an item or area - see https://youtu.be/0XlAM3mTu0Q [available and usable on NS/PC/XB]
  31.
  32. Settings/Technical Things (optional/many of these are recommended, but you can play how you want):
  33. - Japanese Audio [routes heavily using Olberic should use English]
  34. - Message Speed Quick
  35. - Revert to Original (Battle Cursor Position)
  36. - Preload Before a Run (Start a new game with any character and exit to the menu, since the first load is slowest)
  37. - Note that loading games directly from console is usually faster than loading from an SD/memory card
  38. - Before Evasive Manuevers, walk if you can skip an encounter, but after getting EM, always run via the shortest path or diagonal
  39. - Always Hold B to Skip Cutscenes, unless the textbox/scene is so short that it's faster to mash (Ex: usually 1-3 textbox scenes, such as Ophi 1's two dungeon cutscenes or just before Tressa enters her C1 dungeon, etc, though it can vary as some fadeouts are slower). If you close a textbox as the cutscene ends, you can sometimes store a closed textbox to save time later, but it's extremely miniscule. Also, oftentimes, you can buffer movement by holding the analog stick you're about to move in before the cutscene/transition ends.
  40. - Generally, menus are considered faster on keyboard but movement a little better with an analog stick. For mashing, optimal is to double mash with controller + keyboard, but it's not mandatory unless you're trying to eke out every millisecond. Binding boost to mouse wheel is considered fast as well.
  41.
  42. General notes on the route below (general guideline but not super strict):
  43. - Flee all encounters you can't beat or if the battle is too weak to give good exp/jp
  44. - For Caits, you can use HHB x2 or M Stone or Dagger->Dagger x3 (don't bother with Wildfire as you'll likely never get 4 off before it flees)
  45.
  46. ########################
  47. ########################

  58. Heathcote:
  59. T1-4: Small SoulStone
  60. T5: Wildfire x4
  61. T6: Wildfire

  68.
  69. Go toward Scholar Shrine

  85. - 20% 2 Marionette Bones & 1 Puppet Bones
  86. - 15% 2 Puppet Bones & 1 Dark Elemental

  88. - 20% 2 Marionette Bones % Fire Elemental
  89.

  125. TP Bolderfall, go toward Western Stillsnow area (again, want max HP and 44 SP+ before Stillsnow map)
  126. Force encounter in Western Stillsnow Wilds
  127. If Majestic Snow Marmot (it looks like an ice squirrel) is in the group, LB -> LB x3 to break and avoid it silencing you
  128. Otherwise, FireStorm -> FireStorm x3 (this breaks the ice lizardmen to skip their turns)
  129. You can opt to toss an L as well, but if Snow Yak present, Thunder L is needed specifically
  130.
  131. [CHUBBY CAIT NOTE: always Vets x1 (unless caught by surprise and can Vets x3, which is better) and hope Reptalios do not hit you. If Vets miss and Chubby flees, reload the save. If you hit, you can usually skip or abridge parts of Tomb of King (ToK) since the Chubby nets you 20k, which is about how much we get in ToK, and almost enough JP to skip ToK.]
  132. MENU BEFORE NORTHREACH MAPS:
  133. - Job to Merchant, learn Sidestep + Hired Help
  134. - Put on Endless Items
  135. - Grape heal HP to 825+ HP
  136. Reptalios battle: HH Bandits x2 + Fire/Thunder L (it should be tab right once in item menu)
  137. If you get the encounter at the top leftmost torch, it's usually safe to get the top-left Shadow M chest too
  138. (It is optional but helps in Tomb of Kings grind against Light group formations. You can also get it on the way down when going to Maw as Maw is closer by a few steps.)
  139.
  140. Tag Northreach, steal Empowering Necklace (3%)
  141. Rep reset as needed for 1k each [I recommend counting aloud 1->5 tries with each set of five.]

  154. Go to Barham's house for cutscene, then go to center square to steal Oasis Water (80%)
  155. Give to Barham, then go to next map to steal Wyvern Scale (65%)
  156.

  160. - EM Off
  161. Encounter before Tomb of Kings, if Shaggy Aurochs is in group, FireStorm -> LB x3 else LB->LB x3 is faster
  162.
  163. Tomb of Kings Grind (EXP/LVL doesn't matter, we always hit the minimum needed by Gareth so only JP matters):
  164. - 1418 JP or 1402 JP needed before leaving (we force 1 encounter in Orlick; there's a 5% that is 16 JP short, up to you if you want to take chance. I prefer just yoloing it with 1402 if my last battle ends in this range)
  165. - Get Fire L + 9400 + Curious Antique
  166. - Use up ALL stones as needed, esp to ensure Cait KOs
  167. - Plum heal SP if needed, maintain 44 SP per battle
  168.
  169. Untested with Adam hat but I like to do:
  170. - 2 Light Guardians and 2 Light Sentinels: LB -> LB x3 (or Shad M -> LB x3 to skip some turns)
  171. - 5 Light Sentinels: LB -> LB x3 (or Shad M -> Fireball x3 to skip some turns)
  172. - 2 Light Guardians and 1 Light Remnant: Shad M -> LB x3 (or Defend -> Sword on Remnant -> LB x4)
  173. - 2 Wind Guardians and 2 Wind Sentinels: LB -> LB x3
  174. - 2 Wind Guardians and 1 Wind Remnant -> LB -> LB x3 (repeat if needed)
  175. - 5 Wind Sentinels: LB x2 -> Fireball
  176. - Thief I: Defend -> LB x3
  177. - Thief II: Defend -> LB x3 (or Light M KOs)
  178. - Cait/Cultured Cait: easily defeat both at L15 with T1 LB x2 then depends on other enemies
  179. [check JP at battle end screen's bar constantly]
  180.
  181. Menu:
  182. - EVASIVE MANEUVERS ON before leaving
  183. Enter Runeblade Shrine
  184. S+Q on right side of Save Point (can optionally yolo save and run for 50k + Rev Jam as enc rate is very low)
  185. Get 50k + Rev Jam
  186.
  187. TP Noblecourt [Rep resets are 2.5k, can afford twice or reload save]
  188. Go to Barham to give Wyvern Scale
  189. Finish steals for C2 and enter Orlick Manse
  190. Force 1 encounter before load trigger of boss (FS->LB x3 if Ice Sentinel is in group else LB->LB x3)
  191.
  192. Job Menu
  193. - Job to Thief + learn Steal SP (if you have 1466 JP leftover, you can learn AC early too but this usually needs ToK Caits)
  194. - Job to Merchant
  195.
  196. Orlick
  197. - sometimes, you may need to Grape M heal on T5/6, but it is rarely needed
  198. - if you get 1 poison tick of damage (310), on T5, you don't need Pom S and can just T5 Defend and use Steal SP x2
  199. - if you get 4 Poison ticks of damage (310x4), it lets you skip Pom S/Defend and just use Steal SP into Vets x4
  200. T1: HHV x2
  201. T2: Steal SP
  202. T3: Steal SP
  203. T4: Steal SP
  204. T5: Pom S (or Defend if you got 1 Poison tick of damage and do Steal SP x2 next turn)
  205. T7: Steal SP x3

  254. - Endless Items
  255. - Hang Tough
  256. - Eye for an Eye
  257. [Make sure to do this menu outside the house before getting Jam, as entering it too fast unloads the house]
  258.
  259. Enter house to get Refreshing Jam
  260. Go up and do Lorn cutscene, optionally get Ice M for chip damage vs Darius
  261.
  262. TP Marsalim and steal 1-2 Pom L from NPC near Weapon Store (55% steals at L23)
  263. (If you fail both, you can opt for the Pom L in Lorn's second screen. If you get at least 1, you can skip it, and having 2 is just to a smidge safer.)
  264.
  265. Optional backup Pom L's:
  266. - TP Noblecourt and go to Hollow Throne for Pom L and Rev Jam, can also KO bird for backup JP if needed
  267. - Lorn Cathedral (C4 dungeon) second map has a Pom L left of the Save Point, get it and exit and reenter
  268.
  269. Backup Money:
  270. - TP Quarrycrest, steal 1-2 Fool's Gold Ore for 4-8k
  271. - TP Noblecourt, Wellspring, etc and steal stuff around town to NPClike Wellspring's coin pouch or Noblecourt's random items lying about
  272.
  273. Weapon Shop:
  274. Equipment:
  275. - Unequip Adam Hat
  276. Sell all equipment/items greater than or equal to 1k (keep Poms/Jams, High House Armor, Viper Dagger, and accessories)
  277.
  278. TP Northreach
  279.
  280. Steal 2 Pom M (80%) from leftmost NPC
  281. If you do not have > 130k, steal and sell Fool's Gold Ore from person next to them too (100%) to sell
  282.
  283. Trigger Thief cutscene
  284. Steal Thief's 55% Pom L
  285.
  286. Steal his 3% and keep rep resetting as needed.
  287.
  288. We want 120k going into Lorn, though 120.8k is nice for HHB option so always stay at or above that. If you get below it, you can steal and sell 65-100% stuff around the city like Ice Amulet or Fool's Gold Ore if you haven't gotten that yet. You will Collect Darius toward the end of the fight. You should have around the range of 10-15k for rep restores.
  289.
  290. After getting 3% Steal, enter Lorn and go to Darius
  291. In second screen, optionally get Pom L and exit and reenter (no need if you got at least 1 of the Marsalim Pom L steals though)
  292.
  293. Heal HP
  294. Save before Darius
  295.
  296. Darius (98,923 HP, weak to Spear/Dagger/Axe/Ice/Wind, 4 -> 6 -> 8 shields)
  297.
  298. You can adapt to this fight but general gist is: deal about half health damage (47-54% Collect/Steal value, though ideally closer to 47%), then do the AI Loop Glitch, which makes him do 1 attack per turn, making the battle free. To reach around half, you can break and do Vets x4 (+17% to the Steal/Collect) and then repeat break and Vets x4 (+17%). With Collect's 5% starting base, that's 5% + 17% + 17% or about 43% on top of all the extra dagger chip damage done. You can use stones or more Steal SP and such to bring him closer to 47%-54% to do the AI Loop from there. (Alternatively, breaking and doing Armor Corrosive Vets x3 is about 22.5%, then breaking and doing Vets x4 will also bring him pretty much right into 47%-54% range, but you can adjust based on the damage values.) Use Grape M to heal after his Fire attacks (or Rev Jam/Ref Jam if SP is getting low/need BP too).
  299.
  300. The AI Loop Glitch works because Darius at half health (55% Steal/Collect reading) always does Sweep -> Power_Up. It's his Power_Up that we want to avoid, as he gets 3 actions and is a lot deadlier. If you break immediately after Sweep but before Power_Up, his AI glitches and loops the Sweep and shield shift actions permanently.
  301.
  302. Here are relevant damage numbers of %'s to memorize (or write on a paper next to your run):
  303. Note1: Darius starts at 5% base Collect, and it won't display above 100%, but he's KOed at 105% Collect.
  304. Note2: Darius' halfway point is 55% Collect, and when he reaches this, he'll do or will be doing Sweep->PowerUp (it's this power up that we do the AI Loop Glitch for to avoid, since we don't want him at 3 actions per turn)
  305. Unbroken Vets x4 is 8.5% ish
  306. Unbroken Vets x3 is 7.5% ish
  307. Unbroken Vets x2 is 6% ish
  308. Unbroken Vets x1 is 5% ish
  309. Vets x4 is about 17% Steal/Collect when broken
  310. Vets x3 is about 15% Steal/Collect when broken
  311. Vets x2 is about 12% Steal/Collect when broken
  312. Vets x1 is about 10% Steal/Collect when broken
  313. AC (Armor Corrosive) is just 1.5x the above numbers (ex AC broken Vets x4 is 25.5%), but you don't necessarily need to AC in first half (as you can just do two broken Vets x4 and then chip a bit from there, if preferred)
  314. 2700 non weakness L Stone is about 3% Steal/Collect
  315. 1100 non weakness M Stone is about 1% Steal/Collect (he never unlocks ice weakness; so Ice M always does 1100 too)
  316. Reduce BP as needed to not overdamage him.
  317.
  318. The start of this fight is pretty flexible, and you should try to adapt to the situation to try to be BP efficient. Standard start of battle is hoping for an Eye for an Eye hit from his one of his first two attacks on Therion.
  319. (You can adapt the opening by using Sidestep x2/Sidestep x1 instead to stall for Eye for an Eye breaks or redo fight as needed.)
  320.
  321. T1: Defend/Sidestep
  322. T2: Dagger x3 to break
  323. T3: Rev Jam/Pom L (use Pom L if you were able to setup Sidestep on T1, and then use Refreshing Jam on T5)
  324. T4: Sidestep x4
  325. T5: Sidestep/Refreshing Jam if at 1 HP
  326. T6: Sidestep x4
  327. T7: Pom M
  328. T8: Grape M if damaged/Sidestep x4
  329. T9: Grape M if damaged/Sidestep x4
  330.
  331. And then adapt from there.
  332. You will want to break him asap after he uses "Steal Items" to lock you out of your items. Do not be afraid to use Dagger x4 if needed. Ideally, you can break him right after Steal Items, as that'll maximize the time until he does it again, but it isn't too dangerous as long as you keep your Sidestep stack up and keep healing after each fire attack (use Grape M usually, unless you need BP/SP, in which case use a Jam).
  333.
  334. Most of this fight depends on turn order and Eye for an Eye RNG, so it's not possible to make a full script. I will detail the general strategy. General idea is break and do two full sets of Vets for 60k (no AC needed though it can be optionally used for one of them to do extra chip damage) to bring him close to half HP (usually he'll be around 44%+ Steal/Collect), do the AI Loop with 30k Vets (again, no AC) alongside dagger hits to break for the glitch (AI Loop needs him in range of 47%-54% with how we do it), then after getting the glitch, we easily win with Sidesteps.
  335.
  336. You should aim to use Pom L/Rev Jam to get 5 BP as needed, and use Steal SP to replenish your SP while chipping his shields down. When you use either Pom L or Rev Jam, you will have 5 BP on your next turn. Pom M doesn't help as much, but it can still be used to gain a bit more advantage of Sidesteps against him and is efficient if you know you'll need to heal with Grape M soon.
  337.
  338. When you have 5 BP, it is more optimal to do:
  339. - action x4, action, action x4 to maximize efficiency if possible
  340. - Sidesteps x4, Sidestep, Sidestep x4
  341. is better rather than
  342. - Sidestep x4, Sidestep x3
  343. for example because the former is more BP efficient, letting you maximize your boosted actions and minimize turns lost to not gaining BP.
  344. Note: These are examples of turns, and the Sidesteps above can be swapped for something else, like (Sidestep x4, Steal SP, Sidestep x4 or even Dagger x4, Sidestep, Sidestep x4, etc if you need to chip shields). You also will still want to do inefficient actions at times like Sidestep x3 or using Pom L when you already have 1 BP, as sometimes, the turn order just doesn't work out well.
  345.
  346. As battle continues, build up a nice stack of Sidesteps (5+ Sidesteps, ideally closer to 9 Sidesteps while being efficient is better of course). Every few turns, Darius will LOCK your items. You need to break him to unlock them as reuse them again. This can be deadly if you have low Sidesteps, since you can't Pom for BP, so it's advised to break him soon after he locks items. When he's broken, if possible, use the chance to do one of the early sets of Vets to push him toward halfway damage.
  347.
  348. If he's close but not quite at 47%, such as at 43% or 44%, you will usually need to get chip damage on him, such as breaking and using boosted Steal SP or using any spare stones.
  349.
  350. For our fight, you just need to know he will reach half health at 55% Collect/Steal and powers up, and we want to AVOID that. Doing two sets of broken vets damage on him will usually bring him to high 40%s but not quite there, which will give us some leeway for the AI Loop Glitch.
  351.
  352. To do the AI Loop Glitch,
  353. - bring him between 47%-54% Collect (ideally closer to 47% to have more time to pull off the glitch)
  354. - chip him down to between 1 and 3 shields and tab away to Bow.
  355. - maintain high ish BP on Therion (ideally 5 BP but 3-4 BP usually suffices)
  356. - wait for one of two turn orders to do AI Loop and use Vets x4 for ~8.5% to push him to his halfway point (or other such attack)
  357.
  358. Turn Order 1 for AI Loop Glitch is where you go either:
  359.
  360. Turn 1: Darius1 Therion1 Darius2 (NOTE: Darius1 action must NOT BE SWEEP; if he Sweeps, this DOES NOT WORK.)
  361. Turn 2: Darius3 Therion2 Darius4
  362.
  363. If this occurs and Darius 1 is NOT Sweep, you can do the glitch. Have Therion1 do Vets x4 (or some other boosted Vets to damage Darius to 55% or more Collect). Then Darius should do Sweep as his Darius3 action. Then Therion2 needs to TAB TO DAGGER and boost and break him.
  364.
  365. ALTERNATIVE and preferred Turn Order 2 for AI Loop Glitch is where:
  366.
  367. Turn 1: Darius1 Darius2 Therion1
  368. Turn 2: Darius3 Therion2 Darius4
  369.
  370. This one is more lenient because it doesn't matter what Darius1 or Darius2's actions are. Have Therion1 do Vets x4 (or some other Vets to damage Darius to 55% or more Collect). Then Darius should do Sweep as his Darius3 action. Then Therion2 needs to TAB TO DAGGER and boost and break him.
  371.
  372. If you are trying to glitch him and he locks your item, try to maintain high BP and hold out without breaking him, in case you get a turn order to do the AI Loop (getting the loop is an autowin, so you don't need poms or anything afterward). You can usually stall a few turns by just doing Sidestep x1 or possibly Sidestep x2 and waiting for one of the two turn orders above. If he hits you with multihit fire, using Rest/Boosted Rest can often put you back into Hang Tough range to have a bit of buffer.
  373.
  374. When he's around 47%+, you can start watching for the AI Loop's turn order. If he's at 47%+ and you run low on Sidesteps, and he locks your items, you can actually just break him too (just don't do extra damage while he's broken, and he won't hit half health), then Pom up and Sidestep up, chip his shields back down to a low amount, and try again. (We aim for 47%+ early for this scenario, in case we need to do extra breaks to stall, as breaking him, letting him unbreak but not doing extra damaage, and then Pom'ing up and such doesn't usually add more than 1% or 2%, so he'll still be in the 47%-54% range. If he does hit 55%, you can try to break asap to AI Loop if turn order/EfaE procs line up, but usually, it'll be a reset and retry.)
  375.
  376. After he's AI Looped, he'll keep using Sweep once per turn, so you can just use Sidestep x1 slowly and slowly build up BP or use spare Pom M/L as needed.
  377.
  378. At that point, bring him to low shields, use AC x2 to set up Armor Corrosive ahead of time, and then break and do Vets x4 for a lot of damage. From there, Collect 30k from him (check the % HP remaining), then break and do another final Vets (this does not need AC if you saw him at 88%+ Collect when getting his money earlier).
  379.
  380. If needed, finish him with some dagger/Steal SP hits, but you can also take it more safe and set up more Sidesteps if desired.
