   the boy was born in busan, south korea. not even reaching the age of one, his parents had to go the united states because his grandparents were there and very ill. the boy grew up learning both english and korean - thanks to his aunt. because the household often talked in english, he always was seen alone - reading a book in korean. he had learnt that his family had used their majority of their lives living in new york. even so, he had a few things that his parents brought from korea. one of them being albums of shinhwa. the boy fell in love with their music and often listened to it.
      despite having a few of cousins and aunts there, he still felt out of place. he was the only one who usually talked in korean while the rest were usually speaking english. soon after, his parents went back to korea with him after his grandparents were feeling alright.

   that soon changed. as the boy was slowly entering the dramatic years of one's self, his grandparents grew ill yet again. his parents had to go back. they offered the boy to come but he declined. they were hesitant to leave the boy but he forced them to go, to help his grandparents. soon after their parents left, the boy immediately searched for part time jobs he could work at. at first it was the grocery store that was 30 minutes away from his house, then a convenient store near his apartment, being a receptionist at a library and now getting a full time job at a cafe that was only 15 minutes away.
     whenever business in the cafe was getting slow, the boy would offer to entertain the customers and perform. he would play his guitar and sing a variety of songs - the songs were always changing. sometimes, shinhwa, iu, shinee and even more. he had a blast performing for them and everyone enjoyed it. around the age of seventeen, he was suddenly scouted as he had just finished performing per usual. the boy was flustered and tried to decline but the person persuade him to at least try it. he took the offer and did. he soon was accepted.

   after being accepted, the boy was soon seen practicing daily. sometimes would take days off from his job. the boy shrugged the feeling of tiredness and still worked hard as he did have to pay the bills and such and to continue his practice as a trainee. the boy never complains and were actually quite thankful. when he was told that he was added into the debut lineup, the boy was ecstatic and told his parents all about. both were as equally as excited and congratulated him.
