  12. Basic guiding principles.
  13.
  14. One: Expect the unexpected. The local Rick can be caught blindsided by a bullet in his garage during what should otherwise be an ordinary day - and his grandkids are at school, his daughter is at work, and his son-in-law is sleeping in.
  15.
  16. Two: Choosing the battlefield. Being able to see a five hour window of time and alter my actions over that to cater to Rick's responses proves that Achron remains the single most useful weapon in my arsenal while I loot the garage.
  17.
  18. Three: Deception. The Galactic Federation had already been alerted to Rick being here and his showing up dead has thrown their investigation off. A Rick being killed and someone making off with some of his technology is enough to raise all the red flags with the Council of Ricks, but oddly they can't find the technology.
  19.
  20. Both Morty and Summer were easily convinced this wasn't random, and it took only a few careful nudges via anonymous tips and meeting them in my guise as school counselor to give them back (a copy of) Rick's portal gun got them to look at both of those factions, while they loot what they can of Rick's remaining tech. While I didn't expect Beth to show up as well, it made sense - after all, someone killed her father. But I just happened to be there, and while I'll happily present myself as a concerned citizen, I'm certainly not a murderer and this is way over my head, I'd have to be crazy to be involved in all of this.
  21.
  22. Wouldn't I?
  23.
  24. The result is... a little crazy, I have to say. The GalFed came in and tried to impound what they could of Rick's tech, the Council of Ricks took exception to that and waged a quick and brutal war on them, and Beth and her children somehow managed to wage their OWN war on the Council while they were vulnerable, blaming them for the whole affair. And eventually another Rick came to them, one who had lost his family, and they found a loose semblance of normality.
  25.
  26. Meanwhile, once the dust settled, I made sure to show up just to spook Morty. On the surface of the moon. Solely to fuck with him.
  27.
  28. I regretted that not long after, yeah, but at least I got to practice faking my death. After that... it was fun running around the multiverse, but this meant primarily that I ran into the Federation a lot. And then the Council of Ricks at times.
  29.
  30. But at least I got to fuck with Morty's head some more, and that's never not fun. Even if, as Rick put it, "That whole thing was pretty fucked up, bro. Pretty fucked up."
