- Dear Darren
- Thank you for your letter and -again- my thanks to all involved in this case; non-case, indeed, nonsense!
- I am still not in receipt of my computer nor that of a loaned computer belonging to my friend. The seizing of the latter by Essex police has given me a lot of grief. The former: loss of potential earnings. [Read on.] I write for a living! As expressed to your colleague after the hearing involving the shenanigans getting to and attending Colchester Magistrates Court.
- As an aside that tale -retold- provokes more than a few wry smiles...
- On a more serious note I wish to pursue a complaint against the police regarding this matter and give full permission to you and your firm to pass on this epistle and any and all records inc. CCTV footage, Police interview disc/ tapes to a Solicitors, in your confidence, with experience in complaints to the Independant Police Complaints Authority. I understand that these can be pursued under Legal Aid but I fully intend to pay the bill ONCE I AM IN RECIEPT OF SOME MONEY!
- (Sadly owing too various administrative 'foul' ups I have no functional bank account at the moment and hence am not in receipt of my Pension nor pension credit SINCE JUNE THIS YEAR. Sigh!)
- The list so far:
- 1/Wrongful arrest and detention.
- [This denied me access to my property prior to my formal eviction. Thus I was unable to recover various precious items that may have been stolen by the Bailiffs and/ or Burglars. My property was broken into at least twice, if not three times, AFTER my eviction and the abysmal security fixings supplied by the Trustees' Solicitors. Indeed to my knowledge the property was "wide open and unsecured" for three days!]
- 2/ Actual bodily harm. I have photographs.
- 3/ Misconduct. I bear personal witness.
- 4/ Malicious prosecution.
- 5/ Malicious destruction of personal property
- Magazines £13,750 (This is a rough estimate as I have been denied access to my chattels)
- CDs 200? @ £5 apiece £1000 (This is a rough estimate as I have been denied access to my chattels)
- Videos ? unique recordings: say £1000 + 30 @ £20 apiece (purchase cost) Total £1600 (Do.)
- A Vase for which I paid some £40 at a notable pottery studio in Cornwall. I am given to understand that his works have since appreciated...
- Running total: £16,350 + vase
- 6/ Seizure of Computer containing my current writing projects. "Tools of Trade"
- £10 x8 hrs per diem. x5 days x 4 weeks x 10* months £ 16,000 'Salary' (*I am still not in receipt...)
- Running total: £32,350 plus additional monies for ABH/ Misconduct/ Wrongful Arrest/ and Malicious prosecution!
- Call it £64,000 + vase ??? :-)))
- "It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare. It is because we do not dare that they are difficult."
- To quote Liz Truss (and that Seneca geezer)
- Added value
- Non quia difficilia sunt, non audemus; sed quid non audemus, difficilia sunt.
- (Seneca, Epistuale Morales 104.26)
- Yours sincerely
