- 'Sup, doods!
- This is the last Pastebin Monday update of 2024. I do plan to stream into the New Year tomorrow so I'll leave my reflections of this past year for the next update.
- Christmas miracles do exist, doods. Even with eight highlights from this week to cut up, I am completely current on my YouTube shorts! It's the first time in ages that I have accomplished a proper goal of mine (see my goals below). I have a long way to go before I get comfortable with streaming more often again. I actually went back to my first Pastebin Monday in 2018 to gain some perspective. I was trying to stream six days a week back then even through my Internet troubles. I'll get back to that schedule as soon as I can take care of a few things.
- Speaking of taking care of things, though, that wasn't even the most important thing I did this week, doods. I spent about five hours on Saturday running tests on my RAM to make sure that it was functioning. I thought I had replaced the RAM a few months ago. I bought it last year! Fortunately, there are no problems with it that Windows could find. I still have problems running out of memory, however, so I decided to purchase more of the same sticks to get myself more room. I guess 32 GB isn't enough when I'm trying to run two broadcasts at once. I doubt I'll have the additional memory for this week's tournament, but it can't hurt to have it in general.
- In other news, Balatro is a very chill game, isn't it doods? When I get around to playing chill games on Sundays, I could easily see Balatro as a fall back game if I couldn't think of another game to play. The more you play, the more things you unlock to interact with and the more interesting the interactions get. My most primitive desire is to see big number get bigger and Balatro lets the numbers get bigger than just about every other game I've ever played. I need to play it more to unlock everything to get things going, but I need to stop playing it to get back to all of the other things
- Now if you'll excuse me, doods, I need to figure out how to best work on my tutorial scripts during my lunch breaks at work. I still have a few things to touch up and want to make use of as much time as I can get.
- Today's (permanent) extra streaming goals:
- Goal #2: script and record footage for my Puzzle League tutorial series. I have some scripts left to touch up before feeling comfortable with moving on to recording gameplay. Then I will need to record my talking points and edit it all together. Getting back to this will be easier once the workflow for the monthly tournaments is finalized. I'm close to being comfortable with the flow.
- Goal #3: finalize the tournament layout once and for all in a way that I can adapt for the Pokemon Puzzle League tournament and every other game we might play. I have many weeks to get this part organized before the Tetris Attack championship starts up. Otherwise, I will have to postpone something yet again.
- Goal #4: clean up my own stream layout. Most of the framework necessary for a semi-proper stream is done now thanks to streaming the process, though I'm not currently motivated to stream any other part of it at the moment. Next major objective is to make alerts. I have stream reaction clips to put in. Emotes, one or two alternate overlay themes, and alternate timer themes would come soon after, though I will put in any timer theme I can use from Pokémon Puzzle League upon request. As soon as I think of things to put in, I will add them to the list.
- Goal #5: catch up on video archives that I have yet to upload since I restarted streaming. I may put them on a separate channel.
- Goal #6: edit personal best videos in Tetris Attack Easy – V-Hard (post commentary recorded) and Normal (post commentary recorded)—and everything I did in Pokemon Puzzle Week—and that S-Hard PB—and that V-Hard WR—and that Easy – S-Hard WR—and that TA Easy PB. Standalone archival videos are already attached to my speedrun profile. I'm hoping to make eye-catching productions from each speedrun. I'm considering it to be my personal test to be a YouTuber. I am failing miserably right now.
- Goal #7: release the Puzzle League tutorial series YouTube shorts once a day until they're all done. I really do think I need to time the release of the series with a ramping up of my streaming schedule so that I can take advantage of whatever there is to gain from releasing the shorts.
- This week's schedule:
- Tuesday @8pm – 11:30pm ET – SPECIAL Wild Cards Tuesday – Endurance Into the New Year
- Friday @8pm – 11:30pm ET – Friday Night Salt Mines – Tetris Attack Open Practice
- Saturday @2pm – 6pm ET – Lunge Fish Open at PuzzleSpeedrun (may be rescheduled due to inactivity)
- That’s my life story for the week. Until next time, everyone, be decent to each other. Later, doods!
