  1. It was a little under half a year since she disappeared that Reina contacted me but I was more surprised by her message out of the blue than not seeing her. We used to play together almost every day as kids, but as time went on, we slowly drifted apart. She had her friends, and I had mine, and as it was common with childhood friends of opposite genders, we gradually started associating with other people. She had her friends, and I had mine. We still saw each other time to time, but that had been reduced to a fleeting wave or a quick greeting when passing each other at school.

  3. I had assumed she had maybe transferred, but never actually went to her house to confirm. It had been years since the days we would go to each other's houses to spend afternoons playing games or reading together. Still, she hadn't come to school for a few months and I was curious where she had been. I read the message, just a few short words "Hey Anon, meet up sometime? Tell me when ur free!" I had nothing really planned so I replied a few minutes later saying I was free whenever. A half hour later, and the date had been set on next Saturday.

  5. The familiar path to her house had barely changed through the years, and walking down the path filled me with memories of the past. About how we would stay out until dark before returning home, or about how when we would run down this same path laughing. "Anon!" I turned my head to see the friend I hadn't seen in so long. Reina was sitting outside her house and she looked almost exactly like how I remembered her, with her shining energetic eyes and slight smirk. The thing that stuck out was her wheelchair.
