- Description: The pair broke into the home that Kathryn shared with her bed-ridden mother Wessie. Graves beat Kathryn with a pellet gun, before stealing her television. Kathryn's face was crushed, leaving her unrecognizable. The base of her skull was fractured with the type of force usually found in car accidents. He then stabbed her dead body with a butcher knife, leaving it buried in her chest up to the hilt. When Wessie wouldn't tell Bowden where she kept her gun, he hit her multiple times in the face. She died weeks later in the hospital.
