MegaTale (Genocide) Part 9- Core Breaker

Adrian was surprised- and rather saddened- after hearing this. "What?" Adrian asks in disbelief. "This... This IS your home. At least, your new one... Um... Would you like to hear about this book I'm reading? It's called 'Useful Information of the Items in Prototype'. Interested?" Rock couldn't really care less. "How do you get out of World?" Rock asks again. "Um..." Adrian reacted, a bit worried. "How about a random fact about one of the items down here. Have you heard of a 'Defense Capsule'? One use of it will weaken the impact of damage done to you. ...Well, if you were a robot. But that was very interesting, wasn't it?" Once again, Rock didn't care. "Ok, old man!" Rock exclaimed in anger. "Just tell me how to get out of here!"

Adrian paused for a moment. "...I have to go do something." He finally said. "Stay here." Adrian gets up and leaves. "Come on, Rock." Rhythm said. "I think he headed for downstairs... Let's just get it over with..." Rock follows Adrian down the steps. Eventually, in a long, dark hallway, he sees Adrian once more.

"You wish to go 'home', yes?" Adrian asks. "...Down here is the exit to World. An entrance to the rest of the Prototype." Adrian paused for a moment, taking a deep breath in and out. "...I'm going to destroy it." He continued. "No one will be able to leave again. Now please, go upstairs." Adrian continued forwards. Rock ignores Adrian's words and continues ahead. "Every human that falls down here shares the same fate." Adrian continues once more. "I seen it time and time again. They come. They leave. They DIE." Rock gulps at this. "If you keep moving forwards..." Adrian once again continues. "He... MEGABOSSMAN... Will kill you." Rhythm's expression becomes a bit shocked. "I don't want it to happen again." Adrian continues. "I'm only trying to protect you." Adrian takes another deep breath. "...Go to your room." Adrian says before moving forwards once more. And once more, Rock follows closely behind. "...Don't try to stop me." Adrian continues. "This is your final warning." Adrian continues forwards once more, with Rock once again following him.

Adrian stands in front of a huge door. He was silent for a bit. "...So... This is how it is." Adrian states. "...Hmph. You are just like the others. ...There's only one solution to this. ...Prove yourself. Prove that you are strong enough to survive out there." Suddenly, the room grows even darker, and a battle commences as Adrian places a buster on his arm. "Adrian blocks the way." Rhythm states in surprise and disbelief. Rock couldn't care less. He aimed the Fake Buster at Adrian's head. "You better be right about this weapon..." Rock fires, and a small, metal pellet shot out of the gun. And just like that, Adrian was down.

"Grk-" Adrian stated. "...Heh. I thought you wouldn't last out there... But now I see clearly. ...I see now that I wasn't protecting you from them... Rather... I was protecting THEM from YOU. ...And I... I failed... H a . . . H a . . ." And just like that, Adrian fell into dust. Rock continued forwards.

Rhythm was in complete shock. He watched Adrian die and turn to dust before his very eyes. Adrian. The man that believed in peace. The old king of the Prototype. The one that *SPOILERS*. ...And now... He's gone. ...But that wasn't what shocked him. What shocked Rhythm... Was the fact that he felt NOTHING. The man that helped the underground world of robots develop long ago... Killed, before his very eyes... Yet Rhythm felt no compassion for him. *Had I just gotten used to Rock's killing?* Rhythm thought. *Is... Is this the only way out of here? Is... Is this really... the right thing to do?*

...The last thought lingered in Rhythm's mind. He stood there, in silence. ...Then he just laughed. Laughed the hardest, most insane, most maniacal laugh even Rhythm HIMSELF never heard before. He just laughed for the longest time, not even noticing that he was being pulled towards Rock due to their souls being connected. And thus, the adventure contin-

"Hahahahaha..." Retro laughed, suddenly appearing. "You're not really human, now aren't you? No. You're a monster. Empty inside... JUST. LIKE. ME. ...In fact... You're *SPOILER*, aren't you? Heh... We're still inseparable, even after all these years. But you see, I have a plan to become more powerful. Even more powerful than you and the soul you're sharing with... Whoever the guy in front of me is. I can't see you, but I know you're there, *SPOILER*. And together... WE'LL DESTROY THIS POINTLESS WORLD. Everyone... Humans and Robots alike... Even the animals that live among the humans, and the plants that grow everywhere... WE'LL TURN THEM ALL INTO DUST. ...Yeah. That's a WONDERFUL idea..." And just like that, Retro teleported out.

"...So... THAT'S you're true name." Rock states. "*SPOILER*... Heh... He thought I was you." "Yes." Rhythm stated. "But just keep calling me 'Rhythm' for now. I'm starting to get used to it." "...Whatever you say, 'Rhythm'." Rock states. "For now, though, let's keep going. I want to see nothing but DUST by time it comes to leave this place." And thus, the two went on their way...
