# Announcing Love Tropics 2018

Tomorrow on [November 9th at 3PM EST](https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/retirement?iso=20181109T16&p0=226&msg=Love+Tropics+2018) Love Tropics will be held for the second year in a row, and make the Minecraft community come together for a great cause!

## What is it?

Love Tropics is a charity event and livestream marathon held entirely within Minecraft, with the goal of collecting money to help fund the rebuilding of Puerto Rico after last year's devastating storms. The money raised will hopefully help to make a difference in the lives of several families on the island, and every little bit counts!

## Where does the money go?

This year, Love Tropics have chosen to support Team Rubicon, an outstanding charity that focuses its efforts on bringing in veteran volunteers as well as locals to accomplish its goals. The original goal of last year's event was set to $3,000 but ended up raising *$10,155*!. Donations this year will go directly to Team Rubicon's efforts to help rebuild people's homes across the island.

## How can I join?

The event will be broadcast on Twitch and Mixer and is set to feature notable streamers, YouTube creators, and Minecraft developers - such as OMGChad, Direwolf20, and many others. Donors of the event will have the unique chance to participate in in-game activities, as well as be part of donation rewards, giveaways, competitions, and more! Expect lots of fun, laughs, and most importantly of all, love!
