You find a place you like in the inlet. Catching a few fish, all of which would barely be a meal but for another fish. You take a slight nap, awaking to a slight bump from the tide....

Yannul of Lan looks over the gunwales to see what bumped the boat.
Or so you think, till you see a large shadow in the water swimming about the schools of fish you had hoped to catch here.

You have heard of these hulks. sharks, and by the stocky build, you gather this is one of the sort that sometimes swims up rivers too.

Yannul of Lan sits quietly and continues to watch the shark
The shark lazily swims about, with a momentary burst in speed now and again to catch and eat a fish. It only comes near the boat, and bumps it once more when the school does.

Yannul of Lan waits for the shark to leave
It does, but it takes another hour.

Yannul of Lan heads back in and goes to the dockside inn.

The way back into town is tense, as you don't know where the shark went... just that it left where you were.
Olaf The Stout: woohooo

The rotund bartender looks at you as you come in.

An elf of salted hair sits beside or next to you. And looks you up and down. He wears the colors of O'sonda.

Yannul of Lan nods at the elf between bites of the feeeesh.

Yannul of Lan swallows and takes a drink before answering, "Just a fisherman who had a decent day."
Sal't'elph: "Pah... No fisherman gives his catch up to a tender..."

Yannul of Lan harrumphs, "Who gave it up? I sold it."
Sal't'elph: "All the same... you gave it to a tnder..."

Yannul of Lan shrugs.
Sal't'elph: "Pah... We don't want your company.." And walks off.

Yannul of Lan throws his fish head 18 at the retreating elf.
Sal't'elph receives a fish head to the back of the head. Slowly turns around and draws a knife.

Yannul of Lan chuckles, "Do ye think that's a good idea?"
Sal't'elph: "Do you think starting this was a good idea? Fisherman?"

Yannul of Lan "I have lots of bad ideas, feel free to carry on if ye don't value your life."

Yannul of Lan nods, "For that I thank you."

Yannul of Lan passes over 6 silver, "They aren't that smart either, I talked one out of this"

Thirob takes the coins.

Helen P (Chert): I saw a cool effect, Y'know how there will sometimes be individual "fingers" of sunbeams through mixed light clouds? I looked towards the area, 500 mails away, where the totality was occurring, and saw something like that - but it was black, and moving slowly!
My sister flew down to see the totality, and she said it was great!
Thomas H.: now i wouldn't mind seeing a full eclips of the sun now that would be awesome watching the corona effect

Helen P (Chert): Scientifically, that's the best part of having the moon so perfectly the right sized to cover the sun's disk.

Chert: "Oh. Well, I am a hard worker, and had some experience with livestock. If you don't have any buildings yet, I have found a suitable workshop/cottage here in town that might be useful for a temporary base. It has a couple rooms, and is sturdy."

Gelin Haversack "can you swing a hammer or drive a nail?"

Gelin Haversack "excellent hmm I wonder if we can move that out to the farm or if we should keep it in town to sell the stuff that we produce?"

There's just the main room, a side room, and a small closet-sized room with -- most amazing! --- fresh spring water when the tap on a pipe is turned.

Mandel works at his forge. Currently making a couple of nails.

Mandel: "I haven't got your new yolk ready... Gell."
"I told you it'd be a few days... I just sent out for more of your bloddy birds."

Gelin Haversack "Oh i know we've not come for that we're going to be needing a couple of buckets and some rags if you have anything like that in stock?"

Mandel comes to the front of his small shop. Sweaty, and shirtless.
Mandel: "All the rags I gots I need. I have two buckets you can buy, now. And always more to be made if you need 'em."

Gelin Haversack "Mandel this is Chert she'll be overseeing the town end of my operation Chert this is mandel a rapscallion with a penchant for steel."
Chert: seems more relaxed, perhaps because she has spent much of her fighting career working with strong, practical men like this.
Mandel: "Greetin's... You needed a better face than that to sell the mudd you're mixing out there anyway."
Chert: laughs quietly, "Well, he obviously didn't look far if he settled for mine!"
suggests, "soap, a scrub brush, and a good broom..."

Gelin Haversack Smiles at Mandel and looks over at Chert. "Can you think of anything else we might need milady?"

Mandel: "Don't carry soap, never touch'd the stuff personally. I've got some wire brushes, might be able to get a softer one from the stablemaster....
Chert: "Do you have two or three sturdy wooden poles?" She turns towards Gelin, "That broken chest isn't easy to move!"
Mandel: "i have a three.. was saving them for a haft though..."

Gelin Haversack looks to mandel if we could borrow the poles for now that would be most helpful
Chert: "Wire brushes are better for fire forges; regular brushes would be better for the stone tables."

Town is all but abandoned away from the docks which are bustling with people unloading and loading ships. But beyond into the town there are plenty of buildings, but very few people.

Almost always like that. Every once in a while there is a increase in adventurers... they usually die off quickly

Ni'Len (GM): Only the ones mae by the PCs, and... really nothing.
Gelin Haversack: lack of supplies mainly stuff like iron ore and wood is mainly what's stopping the town from becoming really a place to be reconed with :)

Mandel pounds away at a shield in the hearth, the flames loud, purple, but moving unusually slow. Behind him on the wall full of his craft, hang two daggers both in a sheath of red stained wood on a belt of thin blue metal. The handles of both are finely carved, one stark white and the other black as a starless sky.

The Bearer laughs, "Indeed! I had little ability to not start working it immediately."
