  1. >The days following your first public appearance were blistering with activity
  2. >Ponies from all over wanted to come and meet you, the first human in Equestria ever
  3. >Celestia had summoned you to the throne room for more public appearances, and you answered the questions of inquiring minds and journalists for about a week
  4. >While you never dressed up in the same fancy outfit as when you went to The Gilded Leaf, you always work the big wizard like hat
  5. >Eventually things calmed down, and your existence was met with a generally positive response
  6. >This may have been to your connection to Celestia, but who knows
  7. >You weren't ostracized for being an omnivore, which you were thankful of
  8. >You've read about wars that have happened in the past between Gryphons and Pegasai who disagreed with the Gryphons diet
  9. >It seemed strange, but considering that most animals you could consume for food in your world are not sapient like they are here, it makes sense
  10. >You sit in your room, reading up a book about Tartarian Magic Theory
  11. >It was said that Earth Ponies and Pegasai of ill intent could summon Tartarian entities for favors or have themselves empowered by the fel energies of Tartarus
  12. >At the price of spilling the blood of yourself or others, depending on the magnitude of the entity or the power requested
  13. >This was done via complex runes and words of power
  14. >While the book did paint most practitioners of this magic as horrible ponies, there were some tales of people using this power in times of need and becoming heroes
  15. >Perhaps that could be you one day
  16.
  17. >You gloss over the tome, the information being absorbed into your mind directly like usual
  18. >But something odd happens when you get to a part with a two-page summoning rune
  19. >It seems to be. . .glowing?
  20. >Just your luck, as it seems the book was booby trapped or something
  21. >Ohboyherewego.jpg
  22. >You set the book down on the desk, stand up and grab your chair, brandishing it as a weapon
  23. >Better than your fists, you suppose
  24. >The book shakes and spasms as fel energies course through the pages, and in a blinding flash of gold light, two entities spring forth
  25. >Thanks to your hat, you aren't as blinded as most would be, but you are surprised at what you see and hear
  26. >There is a crash as a giant man in gray armor, soaked and caked with blood lands on your table, the poor wooden furniture no match for him
  27. >There is a soft grunt as the second entity hits the floor, her serpentine form standing upright quickly after
  28. >You are shocked, believing your eyes are playing tricks on you.
  29. >The serpentine chimera takes notice of you, and rouses the metal man to his feet
  30. >'Justy, Justy! Wake up! I think we have a friend of yours here!'
  31. >You chuckle at the name
  32. >The metal man stands up, and his scowling eyes look at you
  33. >He points his sword at you, the tip but inches from your face, and yet you can feel the fel energy bleeding from it.
  34. >'You. Who are you? And where are we?'
  35. >You smile. You know who these two are, so it's only fair they know who you are.
  36. 'Ah, yes. I am Big Hat Anon. Or just Anon would be fine. You are in my quarters, located near the Canterlot Palace. It is a pleasure to meet you, Grey Knight Justicar and Eris, Daughter of Chaos.'
  37. >The two blink, and look between each other
  38.
  39. >'How did you know my name?' Eris asks.
  40. 'I know many things. I am a scholar of sorts. And you would be tried for Heresy if you didn't know who the Grey Knights were.'
  41. >Justy lowers his sword, grunting a bit. 'Hm. So we are still in Equestria then.' This creature did not react to your Aegis, so it was unlikely that he was corrupted by Chaos
  42. >The Justicar was relived to find a human in a world surrounded by Xenos
  43. 'Well, then. Now that we know who is who, I have a few questions of my own.'
  44. >Finally, you would do the asking of the questions. It would be good to wear the pants for-
  45. >The door opens, and Featherduster is there
  46. >You, Eris and Justy all turn your gaze to her, and she freezes
  47. >And then screams, running off, dropping the tray of food she had with her
  48. >You sigh
  49. 'There goes dinner. What a shame.'
  50. >The Justicar looks at you with palpible disgust. 'You are living subservant to these Xenos!?' He exclaims.
  51. >Eris holds him back as best she can, as you hold up your hands.
  52. 'I was summoned here by Celestia. I don't exactly have a way to get out. They have magic and numbers, and I only have my wits, which isn't much.'
  53. >Eris giggles a bit, but keeps her grip on Justy.
  54. 'You are also consorting with a Xenos, and one of Chaos as well. So you aren't exaclty one to go pointing fingers around.'
  55. >Yes, taunt the giant Astartes who could easily rip you in twain. Excellent idea.
  56. >But the Justicar relents, his anger subsiding.
  57. >'You are right. I would be considered a heretic for the actions I have done. I will answer for my crimes, but first I need to get back to where I came from.'
  58. >'Yeah.' Eris chimes in. 'This might be Equestria, but it ain't the one he's from. Seems too. . .peaceful.'
  59. >You are about to say something, when Celestia rushes into the room, and gawks atthe sight before her.
  60.
  61.
  62. >The Justicar stares at Celestia, his desire to slay her contained by Eris
  63. >And Celestia stares at Eris, her desire to banish or seal her away regined in by you
  64. >You look uneasily between the two parties, and clear your throat
  65. 'I am sure there is plenty of explaining needing to be done. There's no reason we can't be civil about this.'
  66. >They all look at you, not turning their heads, but their eyes.
  67. 'Fighting isn't going to solve anything. Let's just take a deep breath. We can all discuss this over dinner.'
  68. >Eris beamed at the prospect of food. 'Oh boy, eats!' A quick and quiet 'Silence!' from the Justicar kept her from speaking further
  69. >Celestia looked at you. 'Why should we trust them?' She asked flatly. 'You know what Eris is capable of. And this creature. . .covered in blood and armed with weapons. You should trust them so easily?'
  70. 'You trusted me, a creature from a world beyond this one. And you taught me to be patient and trusting of new people, but at the same time wary. Eris wouldn't try anything, lest she be banished back to Tartarus, and I beleive once the Justicar here cleans up, we can be more civil about this.'
  71. >You hope your words would not fall on deaf ears, and Celestia eventually relented. 'I trust you, Anonymous. I shall bring some more food. . .and a new table. . .in for you and your. . guests.'
  72. >That last word was dripping with contempt, and mostly aimed at Eris.
  73. >She turned to leave, and once again you were alone with the two.
  74. >'This truely is not the Equestria I visited. The last I saw that Xenos princess, she was much less animated and lacking a head.'
  75. >Those words cut you like a knife. You couldn't bear to see Celestia injured, let alone dead.
  76. >It was unthinkable to you that Celestia could die.
  77. 'Yes, well. We'll see if we can't set things right. You will see there is a bathroom over there. Please clean up your armor, lest you be mistaken for a Blood Angel.'
  78. >The Justicar grunts and walks in, his massive frame barely fitting through the doorway.
  79. >You walk back over to your desk, setting the chair down and sighing.
  80.
  81. >The book, unoriginality, is ruined.
  82. >The pages charred and burnt, and the cover warped beyond recognition.
  83. >Eris slithers beside you, looking at it.
  84. >'Looks like my Dad's handiwork.' She said. 'He made plenty of copies of books about Tartarus and threw on active runes on some of them, so the poor schmuck who opened them would have to deal with some kinda deamon. Wish I could have seen the look on your face when it happened.'
  85. >She giggled a bit, much to you chagrin.
  86. 'Well, I don't really appreciate your Dad's sense of humor, but it seems he saved you this time.'
  87. >Eris nodded, a proud look on her face.
  88. 'However, this was the last copy of Tartarian Magic in the archives. And it likely included instructions on returning entities back to Tartarus.'
  89. >Eris looked confused. 'Why would you send lil' ol' me back to that place?' She asked, putting on a puppy dog face. Literally. Her head was that of a pups suddenly.
  90. 'I wouldn't send you and the Justicar back there, you silly. Celestia used a powerful spell to summon me here, pulling me from my native dimension. What I am thinking is that if we combine that spell with the return spell. . .'
  91. >'We'll get back to 'our' Equestria?' She said, finishing her sentence.
  92. 'Clever girl. That's exactly it. But without the book. . . we are up the creek without a paddle.'
  93. >Eris groaned. 'Thanks Dad. Thanks a whole lot.'
  94.
  95. >Eventually, the Justicar emerged from the bathroom, his armor the grey color is once was.
  96. >Eris coiled around him happily, glad to see her friend clean and prim and proper
  97. >He inquired about when the food would get here, and when they could leave.
  98. >You told him what you told Eris, and he seemed to object to the idea of using daemon powers to fling him through the warp
  99. >But you reminded him he had sealed a daemon in his sword, and once again he could not take the moral high ground here
  100. >You were worried that it would be your undoing, his rage for your submissive attitude to the Xenos princess mitigated only just by Eris
  101. >But you would remain civil as possible, and hopefully at least make him neutral toward you
  102. >Celestia returned, several plates of food in tow, as well as a table and a few chairs
  103. >The places them down, and you all take your seat, Eris and Justy on one side, and you and Celestia on the other
  104. >The Justicar removes his helmet and begins eating in silence
  105. >You look at Eris' plate of 'food' oddly, as it's nothing but cotton candy, chocolate milk and. . .glass.
  106. >And she drinks the glass and chews the milk
  107. >How bizarre
  108. >The meal mostly goes on in silence, but you can tell they are thankful for the meal
  109.
  110. >Once it is finish, The Justicar stands and replaces his helm and moves over to the wall, sitting underneath the window to meditate.
  111. >Eris looks at you and cracks a mischievous grin. 'Why do you insist on wearing that ridiculous hat?'
  112. >To which you reply, 'Why does the Justicar insist on wearing that ridiculous helmet?'
  113. >This illicit a stifled chuckle from Celestia, a laugh from Eris, and a contempt filled sigh from the Justicar.
  114. >You run by the plan to Celestia about sending the duo back via a Return spell circle and her magic that summoned you here
  115. >She thinks on it and agrees, wanting desperately to be rid of the two entities as soon as possible
  116. >You ask if she will still visit, and she says she will think on it
  117. >She obviously can't stand being in the same room at these too
  118. >The combonation of Eris' presence and the fel energies of the Daemon weapon make it understandable
  119. >She says getting a new copy of the Tartarian Magic book will take up to three days to get here
  120. >She leaves shortly after, taking the dishes with her
  121. >And what a three days it would be
  122.
  123. >The first day would full of learning, of Eris' origins, of the future the Justicar comes from, of the epic tale of how to two escaped from Tartarus
  124. >It second would be one of teaching, you giving lessons and lectures to the two about Equestria and what you have learned, your unique ability to retain information nearly flawlessly coming in handy
  125. >It the third would be one of bonding, turning Eris into an amiclbe friend and the Justicar into a less pissed off house guest
  126. >The meals became an atmosphere of allies rather than enemies
  127. >The nights would be full of prayers to the Emperor and seeing Eris coiled around the reclining Justicar in the most adorable of ways
  128. >You had offered your bed, but he would not take it
  129. >Either he didn't want to break it or he didn't want to use one a xenos-lover did
  130. >You could not say
  131.
  132. >When the fateful day came, you were prepared.
  133. >Celestia brought the book, and had the spell ready.
  134. >You pricked your finger upon her horn, and drew the circle of runes with your blood
  135. >The most effective material for these sort of things
  136. >You were slightly pale when the circle was drawn, considering the amount of blood needed to fit the duo in it
  137. >They stood there, waiting expectantly as you looked at the Justicar.
  138. 'Well, it's been a pleasure to meet both of you.'
  139. >'Likewise, Big Hat.' Says Eris with that mischievous smile.
  140. >The Justicar says nothing, lost in his own thoughts.
  141. >You chant the words of power, the inflections and pronunciation engrained in your memory from reading the book
  142. >As you do, you feel a wave of fatigue and hear the whispers of Crime Dogs and Centaurs, but they are hushed by the mere presence of the Grey Knight
  143. >The circle alights with red, pulsing energy, and the spell begins to drag them back into Tartarus.
  144. >Celestia takes this as her queue, and her horn alights with magic, the rift below them turning a pure white
  145. >You look at the Justicar, and say a final parting word before you are blinded with a flash of orange light
  146. 'The Emperor preserves.'
  147.
  148. >One week later
  149. >You blink open your eyes to find yourself not in your stone carven room, but in an immaculate blue and white hospital room.
  150. >A nurse pony with a similar color scheme looks at you with a shock, and calls in Celestia
  151. >Turns out you had passed out from exhaustion and partial blood loss, and Celestia found you in your room, sprawled next to a Empowerment spell circle
  152. >She expresses relief at your recovery and extreme disappointment at your desire to become a hero
  153. >To her, you were just fine the way you were
  154. >You mention the Justicar and Eris, and she looks at you as if you were crazy
  155. >She didn't talk to any of those creatures
  156. >You could have sworn she would have remembered the bucket of water on the door prank you and Eris pulled on her that one day
  157. >But she swears never seeing anything like that, and insists you must have imagined it
  158. >She tells you she'll arrange for your discharge as soon as you are able, and you sigh, thanking her, fatigue washing over you again.
  159. >You lay back down, staring at the ceiling, pondering to yourself
  160. >Was it a dream? Was it not a dream? Had it really happened?
  161. >Your thoughts fade as you succumb to sleep, the laughter of Eris the last thing you hear.
