  1. [22:34] <@[Baron]Boyle> This story starts inn a large castle--at least to a person. Royal castles are much larger, but when standing inside it, you could not know such. A large, heavily-built man sat on a throne, looking bored and slightly irritated. Was he as ill-mannered as rumor had it? It seemed so.
  2. [22:34] <@[Baron]Boyle> "So, have they arrived yet?" A tall man stood next to him, reporting. "No, sir, they-" The man is approached by a runner. "Ah. They will be here shortly, it seems. They're just inside the front gate." "Show them in, then. it's not like the--[a mutter]--Count wants to wait until we have this place spitshined for his shoes..." "Yes, sir."
  3. [22:38] <Narration> The maids find themselves thrust together in a large entrance hall. Pairs of soldiers seem to be here and there all about, and various laymen of varying statuses flit this way and that through the halls the maids can see. A runner directs them towards the audience hall, and stops to catch his breath. The maids are left to make their way there on their own.
  4. [22:42] * Kristine looked up to the other maids around here, "Big place, huh...?"
  5. [22:42] <Kristine> her*
  6. [22:42] * @Vivian looks around fearfully, not at the guards but at the other maids. "N-new people...I...they're real maids..." she thinks to herself with a hint of a smile but too nervous to say hello to any of them. Despite her plain hair color and uniform, anyone could plainly see she was a rather busty lass...apparently she was well fed.
  7. [22:43] * AngryFurby (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) has joined #MaidRP
  8. [22:44] * AngryFurby is now known as Angie
  9. [22:44] * Ekkehard a maid stops short of the others, her eyes are closed shut and her orange blazed head is bowed low. "Yes, mine own recollection and the sounds about me suggest it to be so."
  10. [22:46] <Cindy> "I'm not supposed to be here...I'm going to get caught, I just know it." she thinks to herself while shiftily looking around the room.
  11. [22:47] <Kristine> "I suppose we should meet the master..." Kristine wrung her hands, a short and unsightly maid. A crudely stitched-together zombie with frizzy pink hair and rotting skin that reeked of vinegar, or something like it.
  12. [22:49] * Angie looked around her surroundings in awe. "I wonder if he's made out of gold!"
  13. [22:51] * Kristine started shuffling further into the audience hall, clutching at her broom nervously. "He's surely very rich either way..."
  14. [22:51] * @Vivian continues walking forward, taking in her surrounding "Hmm...so many easy access points...I better patch them up, wouldn't want to lose my new master so soon after getting on the job!" she thinks happily sautering forward...but she stops when she notices the other maids again, "Ah...proper first impression..."
  15. [22:52] <Ekkehard> "Art thou certain of that direction?" She seems to address nobody, though she is certainly talking to Kristine.
  16. [22:54] <Kristine> "I think I'm going the right way..." Kristine slowed her pace, coming to a door. "He must be in here..."
  17. [22:55] <Cindy> "M-Master? What exactly are we here for?"
  18. [22:56] <Kristine> "To serve the master as his maids, of course..." Kristine started to pull the door open
  19. [22:57] * Ekkehard follows along with Kristine's footsteps at this answer. "For better or worse," she bitterly remarks.
  20. [22:58] * Angie followed the rest of them into the chamber. "Don't be like that! You gotta have an open mind! Be optimistic!"
  21. [22:58] <Cindy> "Ah...Of course, I knew that!". Truth be told, she really wasn't supposed to be there. She was running away from home and must have been confused with a maid after hiding in the courtyard from her pursuing "family".
  22. [22:58] * Kristine shakily heads into the room. One of her legs seems to drag behind her as she walks.
  23. [22:58] * @Vivian walks forward answering in a small voice, "Y-yes...let's be optimistic..." she smiled a bit and played with her skirt as she walked forward.
  24. [23:00] * Kristine limped over to stand before the master with a bow
  25. [23:00] * @[Baron]Boyle waited for them all to gather, so he wouldn't have to say it twice. Even if he hadn't, he held a booming voice despite his relaxed posture, that could reach down the hall.
  26. [23:00] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Hail, lasses! Welcome t'the Barrington Castle--It's mine! A trophy, you could say! But... that blue-blooded Count of Vicodin wants to 'grace' me with his presence. Yet, that snake of an advisor suggested I spitshine the floors for his master's sake. As if I wouldn't rather put a pike through his foot and watch him dance."
  27. [23:02] <@[Baron]Boyle> "That's where you lasses come in! Come clean the floors. Be sure not to get on the bad side'o the 'con-sti-tyu-ents', though, I won't be savin' ya."
  28. [23:02] * @Vivian listens enthusiastically to Boyle talk, moreso because she wanted to get to work than admiration of course. She looked as if she was in heaven~
  29. [23:03] * Ekkehard approached and knelt down before the man as soon as she came into reasonable distance. "I remember when it were not the floors I would be tasked to clean, sire."
  30. [23:03] * Kristine stood with her broom, ready to set to work. Not assuming the lord wanted to hear her voice.
  31. [23:05] <Cindy> "Cleaning? I can do this!" she muttered to herself half triumphantly, still a bit hesitant.
  32. [23:06] * Angie (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) Quit (Ping timeout)
  33. [23:07] * AngryFurby (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) has joined #MaidRP
  34. [23:08] * @Vivian seems excited by her first task and quickly grabs the nearest broom. She couldn't remember the last time she used one of these and wether she used it for it's intended use.
  35. [23:08] * AngryFurby is now known as Angie
  36. [23:10] <@[Baron]Boyle> "My, my, you're already ready to get to work? HAH-haha! Spirited lasses, aren't you! Come then, come then, what to do... It's a bit late, but some of you should [make some breakfast]! The rest of you can try [feeding the dogs], there'll be a hunt later!"
  37. [23:11] <Cindy> "C-Cooking too?!" she blurted out, still a bit quiet. "Th-This might be easier than I thought."
  38. [23:11] * Angie (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) Quit (Ping timeout)
  39. [23:11] * Kristine nodded, "Where is...Where is the kitchen...?"
  40. [23:12] <Cindy> "W-Where might I find the kitchen, my lord?"
  41. [23:12] <@Vivian> "Ooh, I think I'd like to try feeding those cute little dogs of yours~" Vivit smiled happily and hopped off.
  42. [23:13] <@[Baron]Boyle> "The kitchen? Hmm, where was the kitchen again?"
  43. [23:13] <Narration> The seneschal from earlier stepped up to Boyle and pointed it out.
  44. [23:14] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Ah, aha! Yes, that's right. It's over there to the left. No, my left. That would be your right, and that's not my right!"
  45. [23:14] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Then turn right. Yes, your right. That should be near it."
  46. [23:14] <@Vivian> "Could I know where the dogs are?" Vivian asked, she also wondered what exactly to feed them. Oh well, she'd figure that out then.
  47. [23:14] <Ekkehard> "Cooking is not my area. I shall join thy maid in her feeding." She shifts back up to standing height and follows where she'd last heard of Vivian, her hands spread in front of her to keep clear of obstacles.
  48. [23:15] * Kristine looked back and forth confused, "Yes, of course!" before spinning on her heel and heading to the right for the kitchen
  49. [23:16] * @Vivian grows shy once again with Ekkehard around, she wondered how long this one had been a maid.
  50. [23:18] * Kristine arrives in the kitchen, "It's so big...Hmm, what to make..."
  51. [23:20] <@[Baron]Boyle> "You there, woman! Are you sniffing out your prey like a hound? You should find them easily, then!" Boyle laughed, and then shrugged with just one hand. "If you can't, they're past the kitchen! Ask for some slabs to take along, and they'll give you a direction!"
  52. [23:20] * Cindy peeks in and walks in behind Kristine. "W-We should make a good first impression...Maybe he'd enjoy some whole turkey legs."
  53. [23:22] * Kristine nods, "Yes! And...Some hash with rosemary...Hmm...Let's get started." Kristine rolled up her sleeves revealing the stitches that held together her arms.
  54. [23:22] * @Vivian nods energetically and heads off for the kitchen, "Slabs on meat~" she sings to herself within the confines of her mind. On the outside, she still appears rather nervous for Ekkehard but couldn't hide a small smile from her.
  55. [23:23] * Ekkehard follows Vivian quietly.
  56. [23:25] <Ekkehard> "Do you intend to take this route?"
  57. [23:26] * Cindy glances next to her at the scars every so often as she seasons the meat and squeezes a bit of lemon on it as well.
  58. [23:27] * Kristine starts slicing potatoes and herbs with precision. "How did...Uhm, how did you come to be here miss...?"
  59. [23:28] * Ekkehard slides her hand along a wall as she walks, a chained collar jingling with each step. "I am only curious; the kitchen is a guiding point. A quicker path would be down that way." Ekkehard makes to point at a door.
  60. [23:29] * @Vivian freezes when she hears the other maid's voice, "T-this route? W-what's wrong with it?" she asked, a hint of a stutter quite apparent. She pushed her fingers together shyly as if facing a great hero...in a maid uniform. "O-oh, really? Then...pl-please lead the way." she bowed to her.
  61. [23:29] * Ampersand (Nonan@80F157E5.C6DB832A.D8795800.IP) Quit (Quit: Semper Iratus)
  62. [23:30] <Cindy> "E-Eh...I umm...I was summoned here for my umm...my prowess as a cook! Y-Yes, o-of course!" she replied shakily. She wasn't a good liar ;-;
  63. [23:32] * Ekkehard nods. "You do not sound sure of yourself," she remarks as they pass through a doorway and into a room.
  64. [23:33] <Kristine> "But you were hired as a maid not a cook...I-If you don't want to tell me that's ok. Please forgive me!" Kristine cowered and hid in one of the kitchen cabinets, "It's not my place to ask something like that!" her muffled voice came from the cabinet
  65. [23:33] <@Vivian> "W-well...didn't he say to get some meat?" she mumbled quietly looking back to the direction of the kitchen.
  66. [23:35] <Kristine> "Uh huh..." Kristine peeked out of the cabinet, "Weren't you making it?"
  67. [23:36] * Ekkehard suddenly stops and fidgets with a lock of orange hair. "I-indeed. We are in need of meat... Yes, then making our way to the kitchen is a most appropriate course."
  68. [23:36] <Cindy> "Ah-No, no! I'm sorry!" she goes the cabinet. "I-If you promise not to tell anyone...I guess I can tell the truth."
  69. [23:37] * Kristine peeks her head out of the cabinet, "I wouldn't tell anybody, I promise."
  70. [23:37] <Narration> A scratching sound comes from the room Ekkehard and Vivian turned away from.
  71. [23:38] * @Vivian tilted her head lightly, "Ah...were you not paying attention?" she wanted to ask but instead simply said "Y-yes, let us go then---d-did you hear that?" Vivit asked quietly to Ekkehard.
  72. [23:39] * Ekkehard suddenly gripped onto Vivian's arm. "Yes, that I did."
  73. [23:40] <Narration> The scratching sound pauses, then resumes. It's muffed, but that the sound exists is apparent.
  74. [23:41] <Cindy> "O-OK...I'm really running away from my awful sisters and "mother"." she used the term mother very loosely. "I tried to hide out in the garden here, but I guess one of the guards mistook me for a maid, since my family would always make me wear this embarrassing uniform to cook and clean for them without so much as a thanks...And now, I'm here."
  75. [23:41] * Ekkehard walks toward the source slowly, pulling Vivian's arm along with her.
  76. [23:42] <@Vivian> "M-maybe we should go see? P-perhaps one of the masters dogs has been left behind..." Vivian shyly replied, not at all intimidated by the scratching but more by the sudden proximity Ekkehard had placed between them. She moves a bit closer to the where the scratching is coming from.
  77. [23:42] * Kristine clambered out of the cabinet, having to snap her bent leg into place, "Well at least you're away from them then...My name is Kristine."
  78. [23:44] * Ekkehard didn't reply, concentrating more on the sound instead. She finally let go of Vivian's arm, thankfully.
  79. [23:46] <Cindy> "U-Umm....If you don't mind...How did you do that?" she seemed more confused than disgusted.
  80. [23:48] <Kristine> "Well...If I try to bend my joints they tend to get stiff or stuck...I'm not very well put together..." Kristine at the grond, holding her apron.
  81. [23:49] * @Vivian listens carefully for a clue as to what it could be~
  82. [23:49] <Narration> Ekkehard's and Vivian's focused hearing makes out somme details about the noise--it's coming from low in the room, and there's a small whimper between the bursts of scratching. There's also a a medium-sized vanity chest knocked over next to a low table.
  83. [23:50] <Cindy> "O-Oh...OK. I think the food is done, can you take it out to the master? I'll clean up here."
  84. [23:51] <Ekkehard> "Do you hear its cries?"
  85. [23:52] <Kristine> "Right..." Kristine nodded, grabbing a platter of food and carrying it back out to the baron, "Your lordship, breakfast is ready..."
  86. [23:52] <@Vivian> "Y-yes..." Vivian nods and steps into the room, moving closer to the knocked over vanity chest next to the table. "C-could it be one of his dogs?" Vivian asked, how exciting! How does a real maid react to such situations?
  87. [23:54] * Cindy stays behind to clean up~
  88. [23:54] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Oh? What's this? Already? My, my, maids sure seem useful... Well done!" The Baron offered a hearty clap before grabbing a leg and tearing a chunk off with his mouth
  89. [23:54] <Ekkehard> "It may. Please exercise caution dealing with this." Ekkehard walked towards the sound, unaware of any obstacles.
  90. [23:55] * Kristine bowed, "T-Thank you my lord."
  91. [23:57] * @Vivian nods to Ekkehard and takes one side of the vanity chest, ready to move it aside on the other maid's command.
  92. [00:00] * @Vivian of course, has no real upper body strength and is mostly in Ekkehard's way.
  93. [00:00] <Ekkehard> "Do thine eyes spot anything of note?"
  94. [00:01] * Ekkehard stops curiously, wondering what Vivian was doing.
  95. [00:01] * @Vivian decides to help by looking around to spot what was underneath the table.
  96. [00:04] <Ekkehard> "Maid?"
  97. [00:04] * Ekkehard waves her arms around in an attempt to find Vivian, where did the other go?
  98. [00:06] * @Vivian looks back, finally noticing Ekkehard's akward motions...was she blind? "I-I'm over here." Vivian called out from near the vanity.
  99. [00:08] <Ekkehard> "Right. Forgive me, mine senses cannot catch everything." Ekkehard walked toward Vivian, jingling her chained collar again.
  100. [00:10] * Kristine looks about awkwardly in the hall as Boyle eats, what was she supposedf to do now?
  101. [00:10] <@Vivian> "T-this table is blocking whatever is making that noise. We need to move it..." Vivian tried to be more detailed for Ekkehard now, giving the wooden vanity a light tap.
  102. [00:13] <Narration> The sound under the table and chest ceases for a moment at the tap and all the voices, then returns doubly efforting to both scratching and whining.
  103. [00:13] * Ekkehard seemed to recognize the sound, stooping over to examine the wood with her hands. "Understood." A moment later, she gripped onto an edge from the bottom and pushed with her shoulder and arm, uprighting the vanity with her own strength.
  104. [00:14] * @[Baron]Boyle pats his stomach with a sigh as he flicks a leg bone over his shoulder, oblivious to its hindrance to the job he hired maids for. "...Did that other find something to do? Or is she filching from my kitchen?"
  105. [00:15] <Narration> The scratching ceases and tiny green eyes stare out from under the table, reflecting any torchlight from the hall that falls upon them.
  106. [00:16] <Kristine> "H-Huh? Oh! I'll go check on her..." Kristine bowed and ran behind the throne to grab the leg bone with a napkin before running to the kitchen. Cindy was gone...
  107. [00:17] * @Vivian moves back a bit after Ekkehard singlehandedly moved the table out of the way. She clapped lightly, "O-ooh...such stength. Incredible!" she praised with a small voice.
  108. [00:18] * Kristine continues on through the kitchen before spotting Vivian and Ekkehard, "Excuse me..?"
  109. [00:18] * Ekkehard patted the vanity. "Not anymore."
  110. [00:20] <Narration> Soft thunder rumbles in the distance and a light scrambling is heard under the table.
  111. [00:21] * @Vivian wondered what could be under the table, she takes a look and spots 2 green eyes..."G-green eyes...I...don't think that's a dog..." she whispered to Ekkehard.
  112. [00:24] * Ekkehard nodded. "In that case, it would be wise for thy humble nature to meet the other maid, while I learn more about this discovery..."
  113. [00:25] * @Vivian didn't seem all that thrilled with the idea of leaving the blind girl on her own..."I-I'll stay here as well with you..."
  114. [00:26] * Kristine stepped forward, "Do you...Need assistance?"
  115. [00:27] <Ekkehard> "Very well..." She knelt down to meet the creature and stretched an arm out toward it.
  116. [00:28] * @Vivian spots the other maid nearby, "N-no, we're just fine." she explained in a quiet tone.
  117. [00:28] <Narration> The creature under the bed wastes no time trying to bite the invading hand, but barely manages to scratch the weathered hand.
  118. [00:28] <Narration> [barely manages to scratch its weathered skin.]
  119. [00:29] * Kristine bowed but observed, "Please excuse me then..."
  120. [00:30] * Ekkehard ignores the bite and reached out further to grab the thing out from its shelter.
  121. [00:34] <Narration> The creature wriggles around Ekkehard's hand, trying its best to avoid capture! It slips clumsily over Ekkehard's wrist and she feels something not at all like a puppy's belly... it's...leathery?
  122. [00:35] * AngryFurby (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) has joined #MaidRP
  123. [00:35] * Ekkehard withdraws her arm and shifts a bit backward. "That is no scenthound I am aware of."
  124. [00:36] <@Vivian> "O-oh, really? W-well...it was scratching around and whining...so it must be a tad lonely..." Vivian bent down on her knees and called out for the creature, trying to sound as affectionate as possible "H-here little one...there's no need to be alarmed..."
  125. [00:37] * Kristine bows silently before slinking back into the kitchen
  126. [00:39] * Miki (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) has joined #MaidRP
  127. [00:39] <Narration> The creature shuffles slightly under the bed before slinking out... it's small, four-legged, and almost looks like a lizard! Its scales are a brilliant fiery vermillion, however, and its mouth hangs open slight in curiosity, revealing tiny, but sharp teeth.
  128. [00:40] * Kristine (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) Quit (Ping timeout)
  129. [00:40] * Miki is now known as Kristine
  130. [00:41] <@Vivian> "A-ah...what manner of creature are you?" Vivian wondered to herself, "Miss..." Vivian realized she didn't know the other maid's name. "It appears to be a...reptile?" Vivian relayed the information she saw, from the colors to the teeth to Ekkehard.
  131. [00:42] * Kristine cleans up the kitchen a bit more, not knowing what to do with herself
  132. [00:45] <Ekkehard> "A slave does not deserve the dignity to be called by her name. So thee hast coaxed it out of its den?"
  133. [00:46] <Ekkehard> "That would explain its texture..."
  134. [00:47] <@Vivian> "I...hast?" Vivian wasn't familiar with Ekkehard's regal manner of speech though she had heard it before from a few of her victims. "Please come here..." Vivian tried convincing the creature into her hands, she didn't feel it would be right to leave it in the room now. Perhaps she should ask her current master about it?
  135. [00:48] * Ekkehard stands up now, keeping a stoic guard over the other.
  136. [00:49] <Narration> The not-a-lizard scampered a couple tiny steps back, retreating under the bed again, but then stepped forward at the additional coaxing, sniffing at it before waddling onto them..
  137. [00:52] * AngryFurby is now known as Angie
  138. [00:52] * @Vivian stands back up, hugging the creature to her bosom. "W-well, it would seem it is not hostile at the very least." Vivian informed Ekkehard, "I suppose I should go ask our master what to do with it..." Vivian muttered, walking towards Ekkehard while still hugging the creature.
  139. [00:54] <Ekkehard> "Yes... Quite docile." Ekkehard wiped the blood off her hand, but left it at that. "Very well."
  140. [00:56] <Narration> The creature, for its part, squirmed about and bit at Vivian's clothing.
  141. [00:56] * Angie perked her head from the kitchen's door. "Anybody in here?"
  142. [00:57] * Kristine jumped, "O-Oh! Hello...Kristine here." giving a small wave Kristine smiled
  143. [00:58] * @Vivian walked back to the main hall to see Boyle once more. "A-ah...master...I've found this creature in one of the rooms..." she began and trailed off.
  144. [00:59] <Angie> "Hello!" Angie replied as she let herself in. "I should of know that there would someone in here."
  145. [01:00] <Kristine> "Well, the kitchen is all clean now...I can't say I'm sure what else we should be doing..." Kristine chewed on her lip but got a bit overzealous and tore a small chunk of flesh out.
  146. [01:02] <Angie> "Eck!" Angie winced. "You look a little tense."
  147. [01:03] * Ekkehard stood by Vivian silently.
  148. [01:03] * Kristine gulped, "You think so? First day on the job I suppose, if I don't make it here I'll probably end up in a ditch somewhere..."
  149. [01:04] * Angie shrugged. "With that kind of self-confidence you will!"
  150. [01:05] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Creature?" Boyle glanced over, wondering if the dogs've been fed ye-... "...What?! That, where did you find that?!" he said, jumping up.
  151. [01:05] <Narration> The seneschal had, for his part, left the baron to attend to other duties as the sun was arcing at its peak.
  152. [01:06] <Kristine> This only further seemed to stress the disfigured zombie girl, "I'm trying my best! I just need to perform my chores to the lord's satisfaction..." her face seem frozen in a contortion of worry.
  153. [01:06] <Angie> Angie walked toward Kristine, scanning the kitchen for anything out of place. "And if you ask me, you cleaned this kitchen pretty well." Angie nods, "Yes, if this is your best, then you'll do fine."
  154. [01:06] * Writefag_Chronicles (Writefag_C@sux-2127792.lv.lv.cox.net) Quit (Connection reset by peer)
  155. [01:07] <Kristine> "Good..." Kristine sighed, smoothing out her wrinkles by hand. "Shall we...Go see what other chores there are to tend to miss...?"
  156. [01:08] * @Vivian answered in her usual shy tone, "W-we found it in one of the rooms. Someone had trapped it under the bed, it sounded rather sad so we let it out thinking it may have been one of your dogs." Vivian answered, once again more nervous about around Ekkehard than actually talking to Boyle.
  157. [01:09] <@Vivian> *about being around Ekkehard
  158. [01:10] * Ekkehard stood by Vivian almost unsettlingly close. She still refused to say much more.
  159. [01:11] * Angie nodded. "Let's!"
  160. [01:12] * Miki (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) has joined #MaidRP
  161. [01:12] * Kristine (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) Quit (Ping timeout)
  162. [01:12] * Miki is now known as Kristine
  163. [01:13] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Trapped in one of the rooms? How did such a...?!" Boyle jumped up, looking disturbed or concerned, though the reason was unclear. "Do you know what that is? In just two years, it'll be--!" Boyle threw his arms wide.
  164. [01:13] * Kristine headed out with Angie to listen in to Boyle
  165. [01:15] * Kristine wondered what it was...
  166. [01:15] <@Vivian> "Adorable?" Viviane wondered aloud, it was probably an acquired taste but she thought it had a bit of charm. "I-in two years time it will be...?" Vivian repeated, wondering what he meant while looking down to her chest at the creature.
  167. [01:16] <Angie> "What's going on?" Angie asked the rest with a confused stare. "You all look like you have all seen a dragon or something."
  168. [01:16] * Ekkehard tried to hide a smirk, though she had a small idea about what it may be...
  169. [01:21] <@[Baron]Boyle> "A-adorable?! Why, I'll have you know that that's a Falling Dragon's draglet! It's called that because its cales look like the setting sun, and like the leaves when they fall as it approaches winter! I've hunted many of them, you see!"
  170. [01:21] <@[Baron]Boyle> "And I single-handedly brought down a Grand Setting Dragon when it assaulted the stronghold of Flaxdon! There's little in this world that can compare to the beauty of a Falling Dragon's scales, be their color or their strength! They're nearly indestructible! Almost invincible on a good day!"
  171. [01:24] * @[Baron]Boyle began chanting the ears off the maids as he detailed his victories, defeats, knowledge, and passion for dragonkind! This continued until a crash of thunder rolled across the mansion, accompanied with a howl.
  172. [01:24] * Parodius (stripedtsu@sux-222F7E8B.cpe.cableone.net) has joined #MaidRP
  173. [01:24] * Ekkehard waited patiently until the end of the speech.
  174. [01:25] <@[Baron]Boyle> "And then, when Reichtarn held himself up on his bl--Did any of you feed the dogs?"
  175. [01:25] <@Vivian> "Oh...a dragon then are you?" Vivian asked the creature, she stopped trying to talk to it when he asked a new question. "Ah...we got a bit sidetracked!" Vivian fretted, she didn't want to lose her new job already! "W-we'll get on it right away!"
  176. [01:26] <Kristine> "What else is there to do, my lord?"
  177. [01:27] <Ekkehard> "The dogs shall be fed sooner or later, sire."
  178. [01:28] <@[Baron]Boyle> "The thunder is getting louder, someone should check the roof! Ask the soldiers on status about their temperment, then suggest a changing of the guard."
  179. [01:30] <Narration> The draglet curled up on itself into Vivian's chest at the rolling thunderclap, trying to bury its ears.
  180. [01:31] * Angie (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) has left #MaidRP
  181. [01:32] * Ekkehard reaches out to find Vivian, and after clasping a shoulder, addresses her calmly. "Shall we tend to the hounds now?"
  182. [01:32] * Kristine (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) Quit (Ping timeout)
  183. [01:32] * @Vivian grows nervous once more, "A-ah...y-yes miss...I'm sorry...I never caught your name." Vivian asked.
  184. [01:35] * Ekkehard shakes her head. "My name alone was once able to send soldiers fleeing the battlefield, now its worth is meaningless belonging to a slave."
  185. [01:39] * AngryFurby (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) has joined #MaidRP
  186. [01:39] <@Vivian> "...but I'd still like to be able to call you something. My name is Vivian." she holds puts a hand to the hand Ekkehard had put on her shoulder, using the other to keep the dragon close.
  187. [01:41] * Kristine (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) has joined #MaidRP
  188. [01:42] <Ekkehard> "...Vivian, it will make no difference. You may call me 'slave' like the rest."
  189. [01:43] * Kristine snapped to attention, her brain seemed to...Stop working for a second there. Rather worrisome. Were any maids nearby?
  190. [01:44] <@Vivian> "I-I don't want to call you slave." Vivian replied honestly, "Could I at least have your surname? Any name?" Vivian didn't like how this girl talked. So little life in her for someone who had become one of such a noble profession...
  191. [01:46] * Kristine hoped Angie was still here...
  192. [01:48] * Ekkehard looked put off by the girl's honesty, finally deciding to comply. "Thy kindness feels unreal... Thou may address me as Ekkehard..."
  193. [01:50] <AngryFurby> "Hmm... I wonder how that thing arrived here."
  194. [01:51] * AngryFurby is now known as Angie
  195. [01:51] <@Vivian> "Ah, then let us go Miss Ekkehard...quickly before the hounds start eating each other..." Vivian seemed to fret at the notion and started walking at a rapid pace back to the kitchen, still holding the dragon.
  196. [01:52] * Kristine nodded, "Uhm...What was that about the roof? Maybe we should head up there..."
  197. [01:52] <Angie> "I'm going to look for any more dragons. If there's one, then there's bound to be another somewhere."
  198. [01:53] <Kristine> "Oh. I shall accompany you then!" Kristine nodded, following behind Angie wherever she may go
  199. [01:54] * Ekkehard walked behind silently. After a long pause she places a hand over her breast. "...Mine heart aches, experiencing this familiar emotion once again."
  200. [01:55] * Angie shrugged. "I don't mind the company."
  201. [01:56] * @Vivian makes it to the kitchen, panting lightly. "C-could we have a few slabs of meat for the hounds?" she asked anyone who may be present. "D-did you say something Miss Ekkehard?" Vivian asked, thinking she may have heard something from the blind maid.
  202. [01:56] <Kristine> "Dragons are often found in...Towers? Dungeons? I can't say I'm sure..." Kristine limped behind Angie.
  203. [01:57] <Angie> "I think those are only stereotypes. If I was a dragon, where would I be? Someplace that has a lot of valuables!"
  204. [01:58] <Kristine> "You'd think the guards would keep an eye out for something like that...But it makes enough sense I suppose. Shall we head for the treasury?"
  205. [01:58] <Ekkehard> "Nothing but the truth, Vivian," she responds without skipping a beat.
  206. [01:59] * @[Baron]Boyle called out after the pair. "Look for more, little lass? But why would there be more, girl? That one is here is unbelievable already! If you find my fallen seneschal, however, do not worry him with such trifles as dragons. I may be found on the roof, with my armsmen, elsewise start on the hallway!"
  207. [02:00] <Kristine> "Yes, my lord..." Kristine nodded
  208. [02:01] * Angie (admin@sux-FADE3402.lsanca.dsl-w.verizon.net) has left #MaidRP
  209. [02:01] * Kristine wanders off to the hallway with her broom to clean
  210. [02:02] <Narration> A feeble looking man meekly answered the call. "Y-yes?
  211. [02:04] * @Vivian hadn't actually heard what Ekkehard had said, too preoccupied with the idea that she may lose her dream job on her first day. "Oh...a-alright Miss Ekkehard, a-anyways!" she called out to the man, "W-we need meat! For the dogs!"
  212. [02:06] <Narration> "Oh, yes, the hounds, the hounds, yes, one moment..." The wiry man stepped back and thocked half a cow's body onto a stone cutting table, and raised a knife. Perhaps his face in that moment was unsettling, but the very first 'HWACK' that followed could send shivers up even the Baron's hearty spine...
  213. [02:07] <Narration> Several moments later, the frightening feeble and meek man held out several such requested pieces of meat...
  214. [02:07] <Narration> "H-here you are, I...hope it didn't take too long..."
  215. [02:08] <@Vivian> "H-he seems to enjoy his job..." Vivian was actually a bit more nervous now than earlier. "T-thank you..." Vivian wished she could grab all of them, but the dragon in her arm left her at a disadvantage. "C-could you help Miss Ekkehard?"
  216. [02:09] * Ekkehard shuddered, but otherwise kept her stoic demeanor. She grabbed the rest of the meat after a bit of difficulty. "Let us deal with the hounds now..."
  217. [02:12] <@Vivian> "R-right." Vivian answered, realizing nods were all but lost to the other maid. She grabbed as much as she could with her free arm and ran off towards the sounds of the howls.
  218. [02:12] * Kristine sweeps back and forth, cleaning the hallway
  219. [02:15] <Narration> A man slunk around the corner...in plain sight.
  220. [02:15] * Ekkehard walked along without much expression
  221. [02:16] * Kristine raised her voice, "Excuse me, you there..."
  222. [02:17] * @Vivian makes it to where she heard the sound of howls with Ekkehard. She pants lightly, trying not to squeeze the dragon too har---wait, why was she still holding it? Now that she thought about it, wasn't she supposed to ask her master what to do with it? Oh well...she had more pressing matters to attend. What did she see?
  223. [02:18] <Narration> "Wh-what?! You can't see me!" The man looked left and right and left and right, trying to find a hiding place. "L-look, just stand there, alright?" The man...walked past Kristine and stood behind her.
  224. [02:18] <Narration> "N-now you can't see me, right?" he asked, betraying himself entirely.
  225. [02:18] <Kristine> "I'm afraid I can see you rather well sir..." Kristine poked her eye without blinking.
  226. [02:20] <Narration> The dragon didn't like to be squeezed and gnawed on Vivian's clothes again, poking some holes in it.
  227. [02:20] <Narration> "What?? You're just trying to trick me, aren't you?!"
  228. [02:20] * Ekkehard listened curiously.
  229. [02:21] * Kristine approached the man and poked at him with her broom, "No, I wouldn't trick anyone..."
  230. [02:23] * @[Baron]Boyle had jumped straight off the raised portion and headed to the kitchen, spying the wiry man with a bloody knife in hand. "H-hail, Peter!" he said, and hastily grabbed some rations for the soldiers on the roof. Nobody saw the baron run. But that's because he didn't. It wasn't very easy for him to.
  231. [02:24] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "O-oh. Well, then, why did you lie when you said you could see me?" the man asked, sounding more like he was trying to convince himself than her.
  232. [02:25] <Kristine> "But I CAN see you...How many times must I tell you?" Kristine pouted "What makes you think you're so invisible? And why would you need to be?"
  233. [02:27] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "What? No, I can't be seen! I rolled these dice, see?" The man unfolded his hand and showed Kristine the contents--two bone dice, with a four and a six up. "And I'm really sneaky, so I had to have succeeded!"
  234. [02:28] <Kristine> "I must have...Rolled higher?" Kristine pondered aloud, "If I couldn't see you, how could i see the two dice you're showing me? A six and four is a good roll I suppose."
  235. [02:29] <Ekkehard> The maids walk into a barely kept room. It holds straw, chains, and hounds that snap at them from every direction as they enter.
  236. [02:30] <Narration> The man looked positively spooked. "Rolled...higher?" he uttered as if bearing witness to a ghost. "Y-you have the dice, too?!"
  237. [02:31] <@Vivian> "...this dragon is more adorable..." Vivian muttered quietly, "So...s-shall we get to work Miss Ekkehard?"
  238. [02:32] <Kristine> "No..." Kristine wasn't very good at lying. "But to think my life's failures and successes are determined by dice...Doesn't that sound silly to you? Why are you sneaking about in this castle anyway?"
  239. [02:33] <Ekkehard> "Work?" She answered, placing a confused spin on her words as she started to toss the beef around.
  240. [02:33] <Narration> [Dragon] The draglet bared its own fangs in response as it slunk backwards flat against Vivian. Its back was just slightly spiny, but it was very young and they were rounded.
  241. [02:38] * @Vivian gives the dragon a gentle pat and puts it inside the front pocket on her chest, she was going to have trouble working if she were to hold it. It's rounded spines tickled her a bit as they moved above.
  242. [02:38] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "Determined by dice...? Y-you aren't a...[mumble]rr[mumble]r, are you?!" The man shook his head to clear his thoughts, but if his thoughts were clear, they held no command over his sense. "I'm here because I heard the baron was up to something! And there was a rumor that that something involved...hunts..."
  243. [02:39] <Kristine> "I can't say I understand anything you're saying sir..." Kristine sighed
  244. [02:40] <Narration> The dogs rattled and growled, they didn't know these people! Of course, there was no problem. They were all contained well enough. Except for one whose chain burst open! It leapt at the two maids!
  245. [02:42] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "Yes, no, that's not a problem. Well, at least to me." The man thought about it for a moment, realizing what he was doing. "Oh! D-do you want me to save you?"
  246. [02:43] * Kristine cocked her head, "Save me...? Um, I suppose that would be ok...If you think I am worth saving..."
  247. [02:46] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "O-oh, I almost forgot...what's your name, Miss?"
  248. [02:46] * Ekkehard reacts instinctively to the noise, stomping into place in front of Vivian and covering her like a stone wall.
  249. [02:47] <Kristine> "My name is Kristine sir...Or, that's what the inseam on my blouse says anyway..."
  250. [02:48] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> The man's expression changes dramatically. "I knew it!! You're here in the wicked baron's castle, aren't you? A-and you have a name, so you're obviously an important person!"
  251. [02:48] <@Vivian> "M-miss Ekkehard? Ah!" Vivian turns to see a large dog barreling towards them, Ekkehard blocking the way to protect her.
  252. [02:49] * Kristine was surprised and clutched her broom defensively, "I-I'm a maid serving at the castle, sir. I can't say I feel very important...What is your name...?"
  253. [02:51] <Narration> The beast lunged towards the maids! In the face of the powerful Ekkehard, however, it could only fall short, getting low to the ground and staring at Ekkehard.
  254. [02:53] * Ekkehard stands tall before the dog and slaps a slab of meat onto its face. "...Oh, mine aim was set at its feet..."
  255. [02:54] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "No, it's...not important. I might...tell you some day," the man evaded, enigmatically. And with that, he ran away to a small shadow on a nearby wall, where he crouched.
  256. [02:55] * Kristine followed behind the man, though wasn't much for stealth, sweeping as she walked. "Am I to follow you then, sir?"
  257. [02:57] <@Vivian> "Ekkehard, b-be careful!" Vivian looked around for something that may serve as a weapon, but she had very little to work with.
  258. [02:57] <Narration> The dog jumped back, stunned, and stood up against the wall, watching the two. Where it had been silent in the furor before, it barked once! And ran, straight past them and out the door, down the hallway!
  259. [02:59] <Narration> Kristine could hear a strange sound from in front of the <Mysterious Man>. He was...writing on a piece of paper, nodding to himself until Kristine spoke up again, and he jumped, concealing the paper.
  260. [02:59] * Ekkehard spun around, feeling the dog brush past her legs but otherwise could not do much else to stop it. "Our task takes new form!" She drops the meat behind and begins to barrel after the stray.
  261. [03:01] <Kristine> "Sir...What's that you're writing there? Uhm...And where will I go if you do plan on 'rescuing' me...?"
  262. [03:02] <@Vivian> "O-oh no!" Vivian quickly lept up to aid Ekkehard, but looked back at the other dogs, who seemed to be looking expectantly at her what with all the meat just barely out of their reach...she quickly picked up the meat and gave each dog their share trying to keep a gentle voice for the animals.
  263. [03:02] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "Wah! No, it's nothing, of course, nothing... Where...where will you go?" The man looked puzzled at this question. "Ah, hold on right there..."
  264. [03:03] <Narration> The <Mysterious Man> turned back to his hardly-shadowed corner, and a clatter could be heard. He sighed heavily and picked up his dice, putting them in a pouch at his belt.
  265. [03:04] * @Vivian tried running after Ekkehard...but, by the time she was done feeding the dogs. Ekkehard was already long gone.
  266. [03:04] * Kristine sighed, "You're not answering much, sir..."
  267. [03:06] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "No, Yes... I, I suppose I've been persuaded... (what a terrible roll...) I must tell you, then, dear Lady Kristine, in due play! Of course, you'll be taken in with honor at my father's mansion in Vicodin!"
  268. [03:08] * Mesh-away (hedgecat@sux-2B31632F.static.tpgi.com.au) has joined #MaidRP
  269. [03:08] <Kristine> "Oh! You're the lord Vicodin's son? T-Thank you for rescuing me." Kristine curtsied. "I will do whatever I can to repay you."
  270. [03:09] * Ekkehard ran out into the rest of the castle, but realizing she was at a sore disadvantage chasing after dogs.
  271. [03:09] * Meshia (hedgecat@sux-2B31632F.static.tpgi.com.au) Quit (Ping timeout)
  272. [03:10] <Narration> The dog was easily fast enough on its feet to stay ahead of Ekkehard as it weaved through the passageways--it knew the mansion much better than the knight did, and burst through the halls, searching for something.
  273. [03:11] * Ekkehard wasted a lot of energy as she stumbled along, chasing the dog. "Halt! Halt! Criminal scum!"
  274. [03:12] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "The lord's... Y-yes, aha, I am sorry to have concealed it..." The man stood up straight and bowed deeply(hiding his paper and pen behind his back) to Kristine, explaining, "I am, indeed, Nikolas Vicodin, my lady, and your smile is all the payment I need."
  275. [03:13] * @Vivian tries running back the way they came to find the dog and Ekkehard. She checks on the dragon to make sure it is still alright bouncing around whenever she ran. "M-miss Ekkehard..." this time her stuttering was caused by her lack of athleticism.
  276. [03:15] * Kristine blushed, a tinge of red on her pale green cheeks. "L-Lead on sir Nikolas.."
  277. [03:21] <Narration> The hound was quite adept at hurling itself through the castle, and bound up the steps, throwing itself at one heavily built man!
  278. [03:22] <Narration> "Of course I will, my Lady Kristine! You're far more important a quest than any giant dragon...!"
  279. [03:24] <Narration> The <Mysterious Man> took her (charmingly decayed) wrist and led her towards the exit!
  280. [03:25] <Narration> Surely the castle's corrupt, demonic, or misled guards could be slipped through with the approaching storm and a few lucky rolls!
  281. [03:25] * Kristine nodded and skipped behind Nikolas, quite excited! A noble's son thought she was a fair maiden! In distress! If her heart wasn't already struggling to course the strange fluids animating her frankencorpse it would be simply aflutter with delight. With a hand to her cheek she gladly accompanied him to the exit.
  282. [03:25] <Kristine> "G-Goodness, we'll have to get through these guards somehow..."
  283. [03:28] * Ekkehard stops and turns around at the sound of Vivian's approaching footsteps. Somehow her feet sounded quite distinguishable amongst the other noises of the castle... "Vivian, I fear the hound may be lost on us."
  284. [03:30] <Narration> The guards were hardly surprised at the <Mysterious Man>'s approach--he was quite audible--and stepped between the pair and the escape route! Surely this was to be a terrible fate, even if the guards showed no display of aggression!
  285. [03:30] * @Vivian pants lightly, her chest heaving. "A-a shame...p-perhaps...we s-should...--alk to...the -ron...Miss...-hard..." Vivian was completely out of breath trying to keep up.
  286. [03:31] * Kristine stepped forward, whispering, "W-What should we do? They've seen us!"
  287. [03:32] <Narration> There was only one proper response, and it wasn't stealth.
  288. [03:32] * Ekkehard frowns out of concern for Vivian. "On the contrary, it would be wiser to wait for thee to catch yon breath."
  289. [03:33] * Kristine gripped her broom, she wasn't going to let her happy tale ending slip away! "H-Hey you!" she challenged the guards, "Out of our way! We're going to Vicodin's and that's that!"
  290. [03:33] <Narration> <Mysterious Man> "Stand aside, fiends! I will be ferrying this fair lady from your and your foul master's clutches!" he yelled out! The guards were confused, but the man didn't seem to be slowing down, so they crossed their polearms!
  291. [03:34] * Kristine charged forward with the man, swinging her broomstick
  292. [03:34] * @Vivian pants lightly, spending a minute or two to catch her breath. "I-I'm afraid...I'm not very...physically...able." she sighed lightly, taking in one last large breath of air. "A-alright, thank you for waiting Miss Ekkehard, let us go now."
  293. [03:35] * Ekkehard nods and follows after where she believes she'd last heard the dog, though the trail is quite cold now.
  294. [03:36] * Kristine spun her broom over her head and clubbed at the nearest guard, "P-Please forgive me!"
  295. [03:38] * @Vivian follows behind Ekkehard, checking on the dragon.
  296. [03:38] <Narration> The guard was stunned at this unexpected attack, his eyes on the strange man! His head spun, and so he could not give a proper defense!
  297. [03:38] <Narration> Could not give a proper defence to the dragon that bit him from behind!
  298. [03:41] <Kristine> "E-Eek! N-Nikolas there's a dragon!"
  299. [03:41] <Narration> The guard was shocked, but the other dragon's attack was poorly thought out, and the guard sidestepped it easily. He was now, however, caught on three sides by two dragons, a desperate maid and a ridiculous man.
  300. [03:51] * Kristine swung feverishly at the second guard, but mostly just swiped at air
  301. [03:52] <Narration> The Mysterious Man, Nikolas, shouted loudly at this interruption! "Nay, you won't sink your teeth into my fair lady! Have at you, dragon!" Nikolas, however, forgot to unsheathe his dagger and fumbled with it for a moment.
  302. [03:53] <Kristine> "N-Nikolas!" Kristine really found herself falling for the handsome goof~
  303. [03:54] <Narration> The remaining guard swung his polearm at the dragon attacking him in equal parts valiance and desperation! His polearm struck the stone behind him, turning, and the shallow attack with the flat of the blade was entirely ignored by the dragon.
  304. [03:55] <Narration> "No, no, I'm perfectly alright! Watch! I'll save you from this, too! I just have to make a more prepared roll this time..."
  305. [03:58] * @Vivian offers her dragon a small piece of meat she had leftover, "S-so...where do you think the beast could have gone?" she asked Ekkehard, feeling a strange akwardness in the air.
  306. [03:59] * Ekkehard seemed to be busy trying to catch the trail again, retracing her steps over and over again. "It should not have gone /too/ far, Vivian."
  307. [04:00] <Narration> [Falling Dragon draglet] The dragon chews hard at the meat, but its tiny teeth don't do much. It still nibbles some of it, though! It also tries to nibble Vivian's fingers.
  308. [04:02] <Narration> One of the dragons lunched forward and snapped at Nikolas! The roguish hero jumped back, the teeth missing him by mere centimeters. His paper, however, fluttered to the floor behind him without his notice!
  309. [04:02] <Kristine> "Sir Nikolas! You dropped your paper there!" she pointed, worried seeing her hero in danger
  310. [04:05] <@Vivian> "W-well...this is a rather large castle..." Vivian tore the pieces strip by strip instead and fed the dragon with smaller portions. It's teeth kind of tickled...though they did cause a few little nicks here and there. Vivian looked around for a clue or something...
  311. [04:07] <Narration> Nikolas shook for a moment, wavering. "N-n-no! It's not that important! What's important right now is you, my lady!" Nikolas proclaimed, his dagger unsheathed, and he lunged at the dragon that had attacked Kristine, woundly deeply despite the attempt at evasion and its tough skin!
  312. [04:08] <Ekkehard> "Yes... it is quite easy to lose one's bearings."
  313. [04:09] <Kristine> "Nikolas please, don't put your self in danger for my sake I can't bear it!" Kristine teared up, no one had ever protected her before! "I-I want to be the one to protect you! Pick up your paper!" Kristine stood in front of Nikolas and flourished her broom, "Not one of you is getting past me!"
  314. [04:10] <Narration> The guard saw his chance as well, and properly positioned himself from the wall, polearm flailing, and catching the dragon in the neck with its middle length! The dragon, barely standing from Nikolas's attack, wheezed and fell onto its stomach, alive but surely taken out of the fight!
  315. [04:17] * Kristine swiped desperately at the nearest dragon
  316. [04:20] <Narration> "But--Nay, my lady, aren't I the hero here? I should be the one to stand in front!" Nick pleaded, his existence challenged. He glanced back at the paper, taking a step backwards towards it!
  317. [04:22] <Kristine> "B-But if you got hurt..." Kristine's voice wavered as she wiffed the attack
  318. [04:23] * @Vivian walks along the empty corridors of the castle, "...u-unless we find some kind of indication of where it went...I don't think we'll find it before some else does." Vivian sighed sadly to Ekkehard.
  319. [04:23] <Narration> Nikolas picked up his sheet and grinned at Kristine. "I haven't gotten hurt at all! I'm a hero, right?" And with that, he charged the other dragon, gouging it mightily!
  320. [04:24] * Kristine swooned, "Oh, Nikolas~"
  321. [04:25] <Narration> The guard tried to follow the motion, overcome by this dramatic love! However, he was so overcome that his eyes stung with tears and he tripped and fell on his face.
  322. [04:26] <Narration> [Falling Dragon draglet] The draglet squirmed, trying to escape.
  323. [04:29] * @Vivian stared down, she pulled the dragon out after a few moments, "Is there something wrong?" she asked it.
  324. [04:29] <Kristine> "A hero's...Got to have a strong love!" Kristine declared swinging her broom like a bat at the second dragon
  325. [04:30] <Ekkehard> "We will find it." Ekkehard nods assuredly.
  326. [04:31] <Narration> [Falling Dragon draglet] The draglet squirms in Vivians hands, biting lightly at her right thumb and trying to walk off her hands in that direction.
  327. [04:34] * @Vivian frets, unsure what to do. Eventually she decides to kneel down and sets the creature on the ground. "H-here you are."
  328. [04:36] <Narration> [Falling Dragon draglet] It turns around in a circle, then tries to go in the direction of the kitchen.
  329. [04:37] <Ekkehard> "Vivian? What are you doing?"
  330. [04:39] <@Vivian> "M-miss Ekkehard, I...the dragon wanted me to put it down...I'm sorry, please continue without me!" Vivian called out as she ran, trying to keep up with the small dragon, not really wanting to see it get hurt.
  331. [04:40] * Ekkehard shrugged and continued her trail searching.
  332. [04:41] * Miki (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) has joined #MaidRP
  333. [04:42] * Kristine (garizard@8B12D52F.8F04BA5E.51B045F.IP) Quit (Ping timeout)
  334. [04:42] * Miki is now known as Kristine
  335. [04:46] * Kristine leapt away from the attacking dragon, her attack just falling flat. Dangit...
  336. [04:52] <Narration> Nikolas ran and gave the dragon a powerful kick to the side, its evasion entirely unsuccessful. It coughed, as much as a dragon could cough when stabbed and kicked in the side, and moved to flee! Nikolas fell on his butt on the ground, just outside the gateway. He'd...actually never been in a real fight before! Was that what it was like?
  337. [04:52] * Kristine helped up Nikolas, "My hero!"
  338. [04:54] <Narration> The [Falling Dragon draglet] turned away just outside the kitchen, trying to stay away from its doors.
  339. [04:56] * @Vivian follows behind, panting again. "P-please wait...don't leave me behind..." she sighs, trying desperatly to at least keep it in her sights.
  340. [04:57] <Narration> Nikolas was a little shakey on his feet, but he smiled broadly. "See? I'm not hurt at all! Just like I said!" He opened his cloak to show more precisely his unharmed state...and a tatter fell to the ground.
  341. [04:58] * Kristine looked down to what fell, "Hmm?"
  342. [04:58] <Narration> <Nikolas> "H-huh? No, wait, don-!"
  343. [04:59] * Kristine reached down, "Why, what--"
  344. [05:00] <Narration> Nikolas hunched over and snatched the paper before she could see it. He breathed a sigh of relief and let his cloak fall back around him. "No, it was nothing..."
  345. [05:01] <Kristine> "I-If you say so Nikolas...Uhm.." She extended her clammy zombie hand out to him, "Shall we?"
  346. [05:05] <Narration> Nikolas waved the hand away for just a moment. "I...do have to be a real hero, you know. Just one moment, my deal lady," he said smiling as he stepped past her and back into the entrance hall. He bent down between the first guard that Kristine had struck in their initial escape, and the dragon that was downed. He bent down and tried to scribble something, but...!
  347. [05:06] <Narration> "My dice! Wh-where are my dice?!" Nikolas's pouch was...torn open by a fang, and empty.
  348. [05:06] * @[Baron]Boyle strolled down the many steps from the roof with the hound at his side. Both seemed to be swaying slightly, and there were still some strange noises up above. "HAH-hahaha! That was great, huh, Boulder? C'mon, let's go get you some dinner," he bellowed, and strolled eagerly to just outside...the kitchen?
  349. [05:06] <Kristine> "W-what?" Kristine tried to look around and find them...
  350. [05:06] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Hail, lass!" he called to Vivian. "Did the dogs get fed? Boulder seemed mighty hungry when he came to get me!"
  351. [05:09] <Narration> Nikolas sighed in relief when they reentered his hands. He rolled them...and seemed devastated by the results.
  352. [05:10] <@Vivian> "Yes! I've fed the dogs. Now where did...Boulder?" Viviane almost paused at that when the gears started turning, so the dog went to go see the Baron? She ran off after the dragon again however, before she'd lose sight of it. "S-sorry master, the dragon ran off!" she explained while trying to chase after it.
  353. [05:11] <@[Baron]Boyle> "The dragon? You lost the dragon?!"
  354. [05:11] <Narration> "No, no, this is all wrong, I..." Nikolas mumbled to himself...
  355. [05:11] * Kristine headed over to Nikolas, putting a hand on his shoulder, "M-My lord surely you don't need dice to be a hero..."
  356. [05:12] <Narration> "...You think so?" Nikolas seemed comforted despite the lack of warmth in the hand at his shoulder.
  357. [05:14] * Kristine kissed Nikolas's cheek with her cold, chapped lips. "I know so! Let's head to your lordship's castle, hmm?"
  358. [05:15] * @Vivian nodded to Boyle before searching frantically for it once more. "P-please come back little one...you might get hurt..." she called out desperately.
  359. [05:17] * @[Baron]Boyle looked under him carefully before slamming his foot down on something, which really was a stupid thing to do when one considers his age, but he waited for a flash of vermillion to catch his vision.
  360. [05:18] <Narration> "You...know so?" Nikolas flushed for a multitude of reasons, and he turned to Kristine with a determined, if recovering expression. "Yes, let's...let's do that! I'll finish up my work here, just watch! I don't need dice to be a hero!"
  361. [05:19] * Ekkehard turns about, catching the impressive sound. Bound by duty, she ran to the source unquestioningly.
  362. [05:19] <Narration> [Falling Dragon draglet] The little dragon scampered back into Vivian's sight at the tremor and sound, and turned right at the baron, and stops still.
  363. [05:19] * Kristine smiled with a nod, "I-I shall...Await you, Nikolas. I trust your mission will succeed."
  364. [05:19] * @Vivian pauses as well.
  365. [05:20] <Narration> Nikolas put away his knife and drew a separate one, and didnt hesitate at all to plunge it into the dragon's side.
  366. [05:21] <Narration> "Heroes don't leave things like this alone. Let's go, Kristine."
  367. [05:21] <Narration> Nikolas turned away and waited for him to take his arm--it was a long way to go, but he didn't turn back.
  368. [05:22] <@Vivian> "C-come here little one..." Vivian tried goading it into returning to her again, however she was tired and most likely panting, she unbuttoned the top of her shirt to try and cool down. "P-please...come back..."
  369. [05:22] <Narration> Nikolas didn't need to see it happen, didn't need to roll for it, and didn't need to mark it on the character sheet that had been sundered to pieces since that first near miss to know that that knife...was a healing shiv.
  370. [05:22] * Kristine took his arm, putting her head on his shoulder, which admittedly strained the stitches in her neck. "Yes, of course."
  371. [05:24] <Narration> The [Falling Dragon draglet] looked around at the few, but many, beings gathered around it--the hound, the man, the woman, the thick-skinned...
  372. [05:25] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Oh, just go to her, Westward, you both want it!"
  373. [05:26] * Kristine hummed softly, walking with Nikolas, ever so happy!
  374. [05:27] <Narration> The [Falling Dragon draglet] looked at the baron closely, and then looked at Vivian closely, before waddling right back to Vivian, finally, again. It tried to nip at her shoes, waiting to be picked up.
  375. [05:29] * @Vivian picked it up carefully and brought it back up to her chest, hugging it gently. "Oh~ you had me worried there. I thought for a moment that dog might get you..." she whispered in her usual shy tone. "Master, did you know this dragon's name?"
  376. [05:29] <Ekkehard> "If mine ears are not mistaken, this voice is most certainly... Vivian's," a voice floats over to the two as she finally arrives.
  377. [05:32] <@Vivian> "Oh, Ekkenhard! Come look! The dragon has returned to me!" Vivian seemed happy that the little creature had sought fit to come back to her care...even though she had no idea why exactly she was carrying it around with her, for some reason she just worried about it.
  378. [05:33] <Ekkehard> "Forgive me, but I was unaware it had left thy care in the first place."
  379. [05:36] <@Vivian> "O-oh, pardon me." Vivian replied with a light gasp, realizing she had left her fellow maid behind in favor of chasing around the dragon. She still awaited the Baron's reply.
  380. [05:37] * @[Baron]Boyle sighed and slumped down in a nearby chair. "I didn't think it'd escape. Glad someone found Westward, but sure hope my seneschal doesn't find out about it."
  381. [05:37] <Narration> His normal voice was loud enough that it was certainly heard clearly elsewhere, but the seneschal indeed nodded that he'd known about it already, out of sight around a corner.
  382. [05:39] <Ekkehard> "Oh, you were among us, sire? My apologies," she bowed to the baron as well.
  383. [05:39] <@Vivian> "W-westward sir?" Viviane repeated, the name certainly had an elegant sound to it.
  384. [05:39] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Where did all the other maids go? And did that hall ever get cleaned? Maids are so ineffective. I shouldn't do this again."
  385. [05:40] <@[Baron]Boyle> "The sun moves westwards. I told you I'd had them named Falling Dragons because they looked like sunsets, right?"
  386. [05:41] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Ah, it's you? This maid called you... Ekkehard. Is that... that Ekkehard?"
  387. [05:41] <@Vivian> "Well yes...but..." Viviane hesitated wether to tell him or not that it lacked creativity.
  388. [05:43] <Ekkehard> "Perhaps you mean somebody whose name befits their worth." She drops her head low.
  389. [05:47] <@[Baron]Boyle> "Ah, I guess you'd be right. Should I call you the Reaper of Caladstead instead?"
  390. [05:47] <@Vivian> "R-reaper?" Viviane turned towards Ekkehard, with a questioning look.
  391. [05:49] <Ekkehard> "Hm... I had not heard that title in a while."
  392. [05:58] * Ekkehard is now known as Paisleep
  393. [06:01] * Paisleep (chatzilla@sux-53F98490.lightspeed.sntcca.sbcglobal.net) Quit (Ping timeout)
  394. [06:02] <@[Baron]Boyle> "I'm surprised Westward's taken such a liking to someone. Bites me all the time..."
  395. [06:03] <Narration> Westward made no noise and instead chewed holes in Vivian's uniform's bust..
  396. [06:03] <@Vivian> "O-oh, he tries with me as well." Viviane pointed to her bust where Westward was causing a number. "I-I should probably reinforce it with leather I suppose..."
