KH Monthly Tournaments

Monthly KH Tournaments:

Just as the title says, I would like to start up monthly KH tournaments. There are a few rules that are mandatory for doing monthly tournaments with games that can take up to 3 hours or more to complete. First I will go over some of the rules that will be necessary for completing a marathon in a month.
1) Caps on who can join
2) Different game each month
3) Only people who have a time on the leaderboard will be able to sign up
4) If more people sign up than the cap allows, I will decide who gets in and who doesn't
5) All tournaments will be single elimination, with the exception of possible Twitch Rivals style tournaments

Now reasons for each rule.
1) This will be different for each game; there is no reason having the same cap for KH2 any% beginner and BBS Aqua crit. This is to make it possible to complete a tournament in a month. Pretty hard to complete a tournament where the game is 3 hours, in a month, if there are 30 people who signed up.
2) People get tired of doing tournaments when they last for multiple months. Doing a new game each month will make it so each month, new people will be able to try out.
3) This is to help with dropouts. Many time in the past, people have joined a tournament having never completed a run, then just drop out before their first match.
4) This may seem unfair to some, but trust me, I will be fair about the people I choose. Basically the only way I would avoid choosing people would be because they entered in a tournament before, and dropped out.
5) It is near impossible to have double elimination tournaments when you are limiting yourself to one month to complete the tournament.


Extra things to mention:
All matches will be streamed on an account to be named later.
KH3 is in a current stat that makes races difficult. Since RTA varies so different between consoles or if you use SSD or HDD, a tournament format might not work as well as something like a Twitch Rivals event. For those of you who do not know how a Twitch Rivals event works, it is basically see who can get the best time over so many hours. Since KH3 is about 3½ hours long RTA, we would have to do this for a weekend or a week. Over the course of the event, people would just stream runs over and over, resetting allowed, to see who can get the fastest IGT, since that is what is currently used for the LBs.
I haven't decided on when the first tournament will take place because I haven't planned anything yet.

Things that need to happen before starting monthly tournaments:
1) Twitch account: We have a community Twitch, however I do not own the login information to it, or know who does. So that will need
	to be taken care of first.
2) Organizers: The key thing to make something last is to have help. Without help, too much will be put on your shoulders, and you will
	simply get tired and burnt out from working too much.
3) Monthly Tournament Discord: This will just make organizing easier. Each month, have the runners join the discord, once the
	tournament is over, kick everyone. Add the runners for the next tournament. So on.
4) Layouts: This will probably be what takes the most time to setup. This will include livesplit layouts, overlays, obs transitions,
	and much more. I believe this step and the organizers step is what makes an average forgettable community event, a great and
	memorable community event. I will be reaching out to people for this stuff.

I'm sure there is more that needs to be planned, but this is just for starters. So this is what I will be trying to plan over the course of March. Hopefully by April, we will be able to have our first tournament, but there is no confirmed day for when the first tournament will take place. The first thing I need from the community are suggestions. Do you like the idea of monthly tournaments? What game would you like to see ran first? TLDR: Monthly tournaments might be a thing. It will take some time to setup though, so please be patient. Will need alot of help from the community, but I will ask people that I trust to help me with things. If you are good at layouts and stuff, hit me up. I will need alot of help with that. I wont be able to pay you though, so keep that in mind. Also, remember there will be many people submitting layouts for this, so if your's doesn't get used, I apologize.
