  1. The truth of the matter is that she had never planned on this becoming a thing. When she had figured that she would be teaching- she imagined that it would be only a handful of students...But to know that she was capable of pulling many children from far and wide often made matters feel daunting, even despite all of the power that she held within her lithe frame. Nevertheless, the Necromancer would have moved forward - the undead around her being following in step as she speaks.
  2.
  3. "Sorry for having to delay the class- there were unforeseen circumstances with prisoners and things of that nature." She says briefly. "As you may know already- many of our students were here temporarily for the festivities...And in which, they've turned against us once we've truly shown them what this school is about. But do not fret- everyone will still have the opportunity to learn as desired." she adds, bowing her head briefly while looking across the classroom.
  4.
  5. "Now- we'll start with the most important part of necromancy before anything else- which is the anatomy of the body." she says, shuffling the papers that are on the desk. "If all of you could answer- please tell me which of the body parts renders necromancy absolutely useless if it is not within the Necromancer's possession?"
  6. (Cho Grauhimmel)
  7. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  8.
  9. [18:42] That's an easy question.
  10.
  11. Once the Valmasian heard her ask that, with a clear of his throat, Arthur quickly spoke out, directing his speech towards Cho.
  12.
  13. "The head."
  14.
  15. "If head is absent, the attempts to resurrect someone are nigh futile. There will be no memories, to begin with, and the body becomes unusable- even if by some miracle the soul is still taken and could be attached to a new body, that'd cause severe hazards to their cognitive process and personality."
  16. (Arthur Rowan)
  17. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  18.
  19. [18:42] A loud shuffling of papers would echo throughout the room as Euclid scours his notes as he keeps Cho in his field of view out the corner of his eyes.
  20.
  21. "The brain?" he answers reluctantly, not putting out much confidence in it.
  22. (Euclid)
  23. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  24.
  25. [18:43] The boy seemed puzzled, going to answer in a very unsure voice.
  26.
  27. "The heart?" He knew next to nothing about necromancy, so of course, he would be wrong about something like this.
  28. (Asterial)
  29. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  30.
  31. [18:43] The Accursed lurks at the back of the class as always, even as closer seats had failed to fill. Enthusiasm for Necromancy appeared surprisingly low for the region, so it wasn't quite so easy to just passively listen.
  32.
  33. Chrom was resting an elbow upon his desk as if already quite bored, pondering Cho's question to all only briefly before the most obvious answer struck him-- he had never actually seen an undead absent that region...
  34.
  35. "...The Head." He speaks without much enthusiasm, likely in-sync with the rest of the class.
  36.
  37. (Chrom Sigma)
  38. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  39.
  40. [18:44] Frank just kind of stared at Arthur, as he spoke out. More or less he figured it was the head, he then looked at Euclid. Figuring he could combine both answers and be even more correct than usual.
  41.
  42. He then exclaimed.
  43.
  44. "The head and the brain!"
  45.
  46. With that he laid back into his seat at the desk, he was basically led to.
  47. (Frank Armiger)
  48. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  49.
  50. [18:44] Rea just places her hands on her head, as if though she heard the answer a million times. However, she does begin to take notes when Arthur goes into detail about the effects of when the head was missing.
  51.
  52. It seemed someone had already been doing their studying ahead of time...
  53. (Rea)
  54. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  55.
  56. [18:45] Johanne sat herself down quietly at the desk, placing her own studying material over it and trying her best to not bring more attention to herself than it would possibly be reasonable.
  57.
  58. As the headmistress talked, she rested an elbow to the desk, bringing a hand to her own face and biting the tip of her thumb as she heard the teacher speaking. It was clear enough she was paying more attention to Cho than she should.
  59.
  60. "The heart, because...It's closer to one of the most important convergence points for our mana circuits...?"
  61.
  62. She rose her hand to speak, but it came out with some doubt. More out of a small question than an assertive answer.
  63. (Johanne Oaks)
  64. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  65.
  66. [18:50] Chrom Sigma whispers something.
  67. [18:50] Vira Bathory whispers something.
  68. [18:50] Chrom Sigma whispers something.
  69. [18:50] Vira Bathory whispers something.
  70. [18:55]
  71. "Correct, but ah- close, Johanne"
  72.
  73. "The reason as to why the head is the most important is because it houses the person entirely. It is the main control center of not just your body- but the mana circuits within your body." she says while nothing more than a mere nod. "Once the brain is destroyed - all control of the mana circuits are forfeit and it fizzles out into absolutely nothing. And this- is the reason as to why many Necromancers often try to find ways to get past this glaring weakness of the arts...Something, in which, many of you might also attempt to do while you are here in Agartha."
  74.
  75. "But to digress- sometimes, even if you possess the head, the soul might not actually return, which is why it is best if you preserve two other major points of the body which also assist within the circulation of mana circuits." she states- her single hand rising...
  76.
  77. "On your desk should be pins...If you can, please place the pins upon the part of the parts of the body in which you think carries the other two major points." In a strange way, it was how she had learned...Some other necromancers may also do things differently but this seemed easier.
  78. (Cho Grauhimmel)
  79. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  80.
  81. [18:55] Cho Grauhimmel says, "I'll be walking around to see which of you are right. "
  82. [18:59] Two other points?
  83.
  84. For all that he knows, he already thought that the two main points are actually head- and well, as Johanne said, heart. If there were other two points, then it had to be somewhere else, didn't it? That was, unfortunately, not something that Arthur was certain of.
  85.
  86. Picking up the pin, it was quickly attached to the heart- there's no doubt there, but as for a second part? He paused, pondering. What can possibly be the right one?
  87.
  88. The spinal cord. Probably that?
  89.
  90. With a shrug, he placed it there; the spinal cord was responsible for a lot of motor function, so it only made sense that it probably was also responsible for mana circuits in one way or another.
  91.
  92. Heart, spinal cord and brain. Makes sense. Now, only to see if he was actually right or not.
  93. (Arthur Rowan)
  94. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  95.
  96. [18:59] Euclid picks up both pins and looks over the drawn(?) anatomy of the body and ponders for a brief moment.
  97.
  98. He places the first pin onto the heart, followed by the second pin onto the stomach.
  99. "About right, I hope." he whispers to himself as he leans back into the chair.
  100. (Euclid)
  101. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  102.
  103. [19:01] Chrom swiftly locates the pins, collecting them and glancing toward the dummy set up for him. There was obviously the head, then two others...
  104.
  105. He couldn't imagine them being on any one limb, not hesitating at all before pushing them in at the points that seemed about right-- central of the chest and around the lower abdomen.
  106.
  107. The Accursed wasn't about to lift himself from his seat and put too much thought into it, glancing toward Vira to see how she had answered. If at all.
  108.
  109. (Chrom Sigma)
  110. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  111.
  112. [19:01] The boy seemed puzzled, going to pick up the pins as well with some difficulty. He stuck it at the heart, then...
  113.
  114. He paused, staring downwards. Then, he put it at the neck. There, that should do it!
  115.
  116. He had no ida what he was doing, someone help this poor child.
  117. (Asterial)
  118. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  119.
  120. [19:01] Listening to Cho, he stares down at the pins on his desk and then rubs his chin pondering over where to stick them on the training dummy.
  121.
  122. Thinking back to all the other answers, he reaches forward and then slams one into the heart on the prop with his left hand. After grasping ahold of the other one, he then stops for a moment mostly because he didn't know the answer.
  123.
  124. A lot of hesitation, he then remembered the Rieka lines on his brother and slammed the second one into the spinal cord on the back of it.
  125. (Frank Armiger)
  126. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  127.
  128. [19:01] Johanne nodded at the answer and comment from the teacher, lowering her head and taking notes on the parchments over her own material.
  129.
  130. 'The head is the most important anatomical body part for necromancy, for it controls the entirety of the mana circuits within the body. But so is the soul'.
  131.
  132. She wrote down along as Cho continued, paying attention to the professor. Once she was done with her instructions, the ginger dipped her head again, picking the pins from her desk and looking over the the body for but a couple of moments, until she finally attached the pins.
  133.
  134. One would be at the center of the chest, maybe the heart, while the second one, was pinned at the palm of the right hand.
  135. (Johanne Oaks)
  136. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  137.
  138. [19:05] Two other points...?
  139.
  140. Vira hadn't fully expected the lesson to be interactive, glancing at the dummy on her desk and thinking. How best did mana flow through the circuits? What was best? Vira hesitated enough to glance over at Chrom's as though to copy his work, but she pinned through the center chest- where the heart was.
  141.
  142. After a moment of hesitation, she placed the final pin in the spinal cord.
  143.
  144. Glancing over at Chrom, she covered up her work with her hands, scowling at him.
  145.
  146. "Don't cheat," she whispered with a hushed breath.
  147. (Vira Bathory)
  148. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  149.
  150. [19:06] Chrom Sigma whispers something.
  151. [19:06] Vira Bathory whispers something.
  152. [19:17]
  153. Once again, the majority of the students had gotten the right answer. And in all honesty, she figured that it would throw many of them in for a 'loop'. For the most part though, there is an idle amusement that appears upon her features as she begins to speak. It might've been strange to hear...But there were also 'technicalities' that came to mana circuits as a whole...
  154.
  155. "Arthur, Vira, and Frank.." She says after moving around and scanning each of their dummies. "I see that you have chosen the spinal chord." she adds, nodding briefly. "This is yet another major point that many necromancers tend to forget- especially since it also controls function....The other right answer is also the stomach." she says, nodding briefly. "There are options that a necromancer possesses incase the body is damaged - which in turns, I suppose, makes it four major areas in total." she adds with a mild shrug.
  156.
  157. "In any event- Johanne, placing the most importance upon a limb is terribly ineffective, especially when you are reviving someone from death..." she says while beginning to wave a simple hand once again.
  158.
  159. "Now- moving on, there are ways in which many of us tend to fix the mana circuits while bringing someone back...In my opinion, I find that it is best to start from limbs and then going to the least important to the most in order to minimize damage should you push too hard." she adds, nodding slightly.
  160.
  161. "Since limbs can always be 'replaced', it is not truly a necromancer's concern....But in any event." She adds, her undead beginning to take away the dummies only to replace them with yet another table with a single box ontop. Once opened...They would be able to see a mouse already prepped for experimentation. It was dead already - preserved with ice and pinned to the board, along with gloves.
  162.
  163. "After your table has been set, can you please open your boxes and prepare to yourselves? This will be your first experience in attempting to fix the mana circuits of something that has faltered. If you push too hard, you will damage the organ or limb and it may be rendered unusable...If you push too little, then you may fail entirely and the soul might not ever 'come back'". Which made the process extremely delicate.
  164.
  165. "In essence, the feeling is rather simple- imagine that you are charging a rune of some sort and if you have not done so, the imagine filling a glass of water steadily. you don't want it to overflow...but you want it to be exactly where the line is to make it perfectly full. You are recharging these dead circuits with your essence and fully corrupting this 'body'...Now, if the lot of you could begin, that would be lovely. I'll be giving you pointers along the way."
  166. (Cho Grauhimmel)
  167. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  168.
  169. [19:21] Rea says, " what happens if i roll a 1... 0"
  170. [19:25] Ah. Another experimentation?
  171.
  172. With the box placed infront of him, he was quick to remove the cover, if only to gaze at the dead mouse inside of it- quickly, it became apparent as to what exactly Cho planned, to actually restore the circuits and fuel them properly. It'd likely not result in the proper resurrection, but it was a good practice to actually try and keep a creature on the line between life and death.
  173.
  174. It's something similar to hemomancy, in a sense- how he once treated Theodore.
  175.
  176. Focusing, and choosing to utilize the Mixed Casting once more, Arthur's scarlet hues were focused on the mouse entirely. The channel was there, and the flow of mana was established- at first, it was going nice and smooth, and he could feel the connection coming to the mouse. But--
  177.
  178. Whether it's because he's used to working with more volatile energies, and because he's used to providing a far bigger fuel of mana to the processes like that, something went wrong. Overcharged with Arthur's mana, the corpse of mouse became bloated, soon the arcs of electricity running around it and forcing it to twitch- the said circuits were blowing out of proportion, and--
  179.
  180. -- the corpse exploded in his face, covering him in a splash of blood.
  181.
  182. He squinted. What the hell was that?
  183.
  184. "Um..."
  185.
  186. "Lady Cho, can I... have another mouse?"
  187. (Arthur Rowan)
  188. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  189.
  190. [19:27] Fix magic circuits? Was it similar to healing? The boy stared down at the creature that was a mouse. Poor mouse. He frowned, going to land on the edge and lean forward, pressing his hand to its very much dead head.
  191.
  192. He blinked slowly, beginning to channel the magic he had- Orderly, Holy magic, into the corpse. He came to realize that, no, that wouldn't work. Soon, he quickly began to try and shove actual normal mana into it.
  193.
  194. It began to swell.
  195.
  196. Thankfully, it didn't explode, the lucky sod, but instead it let out a weird 'Pop!' And deflated like a balloon.
  197.
  198. He fried the circuits indeed.
  199.
  200. "Oh..."
  201. (Asterial)
  202. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  203.
  204. [19:29]
  205. She moves carefully towards the Rowan after being handed yet another box. "Ah...Here." she says, placing it upon the table before leaning to whisper within his ear.
  206. (Cho Grauhimmel)
  207. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  208.
  209. [19:30] Cho Grauhimmel whispers: If you want to make this easier, what I suggest is that you breathe carefully. Tune it with the beat of your heart-...And steadily fill the circuits. Think of it as a rubber band that you want to expand to it's fullest potential without snapping.
  210. [19:30] Arthur Rowan whispers: Alright... I'll try.
  211.
  212. [19:30] Hearing his name being acknowledged felt amazing to the fourteen year old. he sat in the wooden seat with a smug expression on his face after having blundered onto two correct answers, and listened to Cho silently.
  213.
  214. Watching the undead take away the dummies and return to place boxes on the table, he reached forward and opened it glancing at a mouse already prepped for experimentation. Blinking at this sight he looked at Cho and then shrugged before reaching forward and sliding the gloves on his hands.
  215.
  216. Which he then slid off because they felt awkward, with that he brought his hands forward, then onto the chilled and prepped dead mouse and took Cho's advice.
  217.
  218. He imagined he was filling a glass of water steadily, as he attempted to recharge the dead circuits of the rodent corpse. Almost quite haphazardly since he was generally inexperienced completely in magic.
  219.
  220. Thus the dice of fate rolled on this poor mouses body, and he succeeded in bringing it to unlife apparently.
  221. (Frank Armiger)
  222. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  223.
  224. [19:30] Euclid quickly opens the box, as if ripping off a band-aid and peers inside, coming face to face with the dead mouse. He lifts up the gloves, observes them for a brief moment then sets them to the side.
  225.
  226. Euclid places the index and middle finger of his left hand on its head and the other hand on its stomach. A fiery aura would begin to fade in and out around his palms as he attempts to balance the flow of mana into the corpse of the mouse, eventually stopping as he senses movement beneath his palms; the mouse had come back to life.
  227.
  228. "It's alive." he says loud enough for everyone around him to hear as he lifts his hands up.
  229. (Euclid)
  230. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  231.
  232. [19:31] It wasn't the sort of lecture he could just sleep through if he felt like it, the practical aspects keeping Chrom relatively attentive. He opens up the box provided, a grimace of disgust as he eyes the preserved, dead rat within...
  233.
  234. Just how did one repair a mana circuit?
  235.
  236. The Accursed had plentiful experience when it came to more selfish recovery options, but it didn't much extend to others or the intricacies of the soul engine itself. He expels a quiet sigh, before extending his fortunately Nyeshk-plated gauntlet toward the subject.
  237.
  238. One might immediately realise something was wrong with what he was doing-- he pushes somewhat too hard, a surge of dark mana summoned from a deep well quickly overloading the dead rat and causing it to explode as if placed inside a microwave.
  239.
  240. He only as much as blinks in surprise, as his armor is spattered with smoking, slightly charred pieces of it. Oops.
  241.
  242. Determined not to make a big deal of it, he channels power of a different sort; Though the mana circuit was undoubtedly beyond repair, the small flecks of dried blood and giblets begin to gather together once more and 'heal' the previous form of the corpse.
  243.
  244. (Chrom Sigma)
  245. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  246.
  247. [19:32] This was particularly new to Rea, and having not studied prior to the class, she truly had no idea what she'd be doing in order to successfully revive the rodent. Bright amber hues, seem to settle upon the mouse.
  248.
  249. Her digits course over the cold fur, tendrils of occult trailing over the lifeform before she'd drawn back the taint of her own innate nature. With focus, she is capable of drawing forth the mana necessary to restore the circuits.
  250.
  251. As her energy flows through the mouse, the slightest twitch is perhaps the only movement she could pull forth in her attempt at revival, Though, a few more seconds, and the mouse began to move. Thrive, if only briefly before the body went slump within her box.
  252.
  253. "Mmn…I think I broke it..."
  254. (Rea)
  255. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  256.
  257. [19:34] Cho Grauhimmel whispers something.
  258. [19:34] Johanne listened to that answer yet again with an open heart and even more open pair of ears. She didn't take it personal how mistaken she was to put the pin on a limb, and being corrected would only mean she would get it right on the second attempt.
  259.
  260. Taking a couple more notes on her own parchment, the Oaks nodded to herself, mostly biting her own lips in the process, kind of trying a little bit too hard on the matter of putting that to words and write them down in a way she could read again.
  261.
  262. Once the undead came along with the boxes, for some reason, the red haired dipped her head, thanking them for the 'delivery', only to open that box and finding the gloves and the mouses inside.
  263.
  264. Pondering for a couple of seconds, the girl moved her hands, putting her hair all the way over behind her head and rolling it a little so it wouldn't fall down upon her 'work', as she finally put those gloves on.
  265.
  266. With a confident looking nod, she brought her eyes down to the experimenting corpse, and just as she heard Cho saying and speaking, approached her hands to it. For a moment, nothing happened. Johanne knew very well she didn't have any experience with mana infusing, even rune charging whatsoever, so that was going to prove difficult.
  267.
  268. More difficult than she could think of, apparently.
  269.
  270. At first, her hands didn't even move, or glow. There seemed to be no reaction whatsoever when it came down to try and reactivate those circuits from the small mouse. The ginger really didn't know how to cast her mana in any way whatsoever, after all. Nothing but the basics.
  271.
  272. After some frustration over the dull and uneventful experiment she had at hands, Johanne bit her tongue, focusing a little more. Except she did so a little too much. Both her hands had a small, faint glow of a pale blue light, as if she was trying to manifest her own mana in a more pure, uneducated form of doing so. And the results would be quite evident.
  273.
  274. The corpse got 'infused' with that somewhat volatile and violent spark of of her own mana, and just as it got in contact with the dead animal, the corpse literally jumped a couple of centimeters up and down back at their desk, producing nothing but the actual smell of rot coming from it. If that mouse was dead, Johanne just double killed it, apparently.
  275.
  276. With a small sigh, and a drop of her own shoulders and head, the ginger slowly rose her hand as if to call over Cho for some help.
  277.
  278. "Headmistress, I...Think something went wrong with mine..." she motioned at the corpse that was, by now, simply laying there with it's fried circuits
  279. (Johanne Oaks)
  280. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  281.
  282. [19:34] Truth be told, she wasn't entirely interested in becoming a necromancer herself. Vira wanted to understand the art itself more than anything, as in an Agartha covered in spire shard undead and a Valmasia full of zombies, it seemed like a useful thing to discover.
  283.
  284. And Vira was nothing if not a hardworking student.
  285.
  286. Poking and prodding at the mouse she'd been given, her nose wrinkled as a swirl of white mana coalesced around her, funneling slowly and steadily into the mouse like she could trace out where the mana circuits were.
  287.
  288. It gave a few twitches, like perhaps it might be working-
  289.
  290. -and then Chrom's mouse exploded into gore, splattering Vira with specks of blood and making her jolt backwards in surprise with a sharpe intake of breath.
  291.
  292. "You are so annoying," she hissed at him, wiping remnants of blood off of her arm and glaring sidelong as the Accursed made an attempt to repair it into an even worse mash of body parts, her expression a mixture of irritation and disgust.
  293.
  294. Vira exhaled slowly and let her concentration drop entirely.
  295. (Vira Bathory)
  296. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  297.
  298. [19:35] Chrom Sigma says, "-- It's coming off! I'm fixing it..."
  299. [19:35] * You have been awarded 0.25 Roleplay Points! *
  300. [19:35] Vira Bathory exclaims, "Not enough!"
  301. [19:36] Cho Grauhimmel whispers something.
  302. [19:36] Cho ALSO GIVES THOSE WHO FAILED NEW RATS!
  303. (Cho Grauhimmel)
  304. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  305.
  306. [19:36] Cho Grauhimmel says, "Try again."
  307. [19:36] Cho Grauhimmel says, "And-...Good job, Vira and Frank."
  308. [19:36] Euclid exclaims, "My rat is alive aswell!"
  309. [19:36] Euclid says as he lifts up the mouse.
  310. (Euclid)
  311. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  312.
  313. [19:36] Frank Armiger exclaims, "Yeah!"
  314. [19:37] Cho Grauhimmel whispers something.
  315. [19:37] Cho Grauhimmel whispers something.
  316. [19:38] Frank was having his ego stroked by all of the sudden success he was having today, so he just leaned back and watched his mouse corpse writhe with life anew while he leaned back in the chair quite smugly.
  317. (Frank Armiger)
  318. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  319.
  320. [19:41] Another attempt had to be done.
  321.
  322. Quickly washing over his face with the sprays of water magic, Rowan looked down at another mouse offered to him. Well... at least they were getting rid of rodents like that, with every box that was handed out to the student, weren't they?
  323.
  324. Regardless, he had to focus. If he wished to actually get anywhere with necromancy, he knew that he had to make sure that such experiment would not go in vain- the tips offered by Cho were taken in account, and running them through his head, he stared at the corpse of a mouse.
  325.
  326. 'To make it feel as if it was a rubber band that you want, and to tune it with a beat of your heart.'
  327.
  328. Should be easy enough- except, not really. Channelling his magic once more, slowly and steadily, Arthur had hoped that the fate of the mouse would not be repeated once again. Doing his best to tune it with his heart, with every heartbeat, there was yet another surge of mana, one that fuelled the corpse infront of him.
  329.
  330. And? And, and--
  331.
  332. -- And nothing happens. Glaring backwards at everyone who seemed to be practising with their rats, inevitably, Arthur began to slowly sweat. How is it that everyone is successful in raising one, and he's not?
  333.
  334. 'Come on... come on..!'
  335.
  336. But despite the silent pleas, despite the thoughts running through his mind, mouse remained unmoving. Sure, it was full of mana, and its circuits were still okay, but otherwise, there was no real progression in resurrection.
  337.
  338. If anything, an actual necromancer would have to come over and do something.
  339.
  340. He keeps trying, and trying, and trying- and nothing keeps happening. It takes Arthur a while to finally give up, probably due to the feeling of exhaustion settling in, but... the fact that literally everyone else managed to resurrect the mouse, and he couldn't?
  341.
  342. Ough.
  343. (Arthur Rowan)
  344. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  345.
  346. [19:42] The boy nodded his head, leaning forward and, with a new mouse, beginning tof ocus on filling the body with mana through the limbs and not immediately starting with the head.
  347.
  348. It was hard work, especially because he didn't really know why or how he was doing it. A glass of water, he barely ever drank from a glass. Almost never did, really.
  349.
  350. Closing his eyes, he focused and focused, and before he noticed, the mouse was moving a little bit. Not very much, but its very movement was sluggish, and before long, it just flopped back down dead.
  351.
  352. "...Aww."
  353. (Asterial)
  354. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  355.
  356. [19:43] The destroyed rat was good as new. Well, just about... a Time Magi could will destroyed objects back together, but even a rodent's corpse was a little more complex than most. Doubtless, a few pieces were lost here and there.
  357.
  358. Nonetheless, he is provided a replacement...
  359.
  360. One he is not quite so reckless with. Taking into account Cho's advice, he does his best to restrain his excess of mana on the second attempt. He starts with its tiny feet, gradual and restrained as he spreads his mana throughout and begins to map out its circuit.
  361.
  362. It was kind of hard to tell how successful he was-- it moves a little, maybe. Chrom prods it again, in hopes it might come do so more obviously. Nope.
  363.
  364. "...Good enough. I think I've got it."
  365.
  366. He couldn't sound all that proud of it, especially given his prior result.
  367.
  368. (Chrom Sigma)
  369. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  370.
  371. [19:45] "A rubber band without snapping..." she repeated the words, mostly to herself. With a nod, she picked the second mouse and repeated the process. This time, with soem more calm.
  372.
  373. Johanne wasn't experienced in casting her own mana in any possible way, at least not in the form of spells. But she did know how to use it like a normal magi would. It would be time to try and do it calmly this time.
  374.
  375. With part of the nervousness away, the Oaks placed, precisely, one finger at the mouse's spine, and the other finger of the same hand at the back of it's head. With the other hand, she placed the index finger at it's stomach, and the other at it's chest, basically holding the corpse with both hands.
  376.
  377. Through some small breathing exercise, the girl tried again, this time, calmly. The back of both of her hands would share that same pale glow of a blue light, but now less volatile and violent than before. Slowly, the energy would travel down through her fingers, down to their tips, only to get in contact with the precisely positioned body parts from the mouse's.
  378.
  379. At first, it seemed like nothing would happen again, but through some small, weak, but constant flow of her own mana into the animal's convergence points, she fed it her own mana and essence, getting a couple of reactions from it. It seemed to be working, to an extent. The animal did move a little and squirmed on her own hands, as if the corpse reacted to that mana feeding into it's convergence points for the circuits.
  380.
  381. But maybe out of some scare or discomfort of the mouse moving, Johanne dropped the animal on top of the table again as a reaction, ceasing the connection entirely. But it was right there before her: It was going to work, if she didn't cut the flow so suddenly when the animal moved like that.
  382.
  383. "Y-Yeek! It moved!"
  384. (Johanne Oaks)
  385. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  386.
  387. [19:47] Vira really couldn't look at Chrom's mouse anymore.
  388.
  389. Her own mouse, however, was looking quite a lot better. In fact, perhaps it was something of a natural talent as she funneled her mana into the corpse she'd been given without too much extra thought. There was an eerie white glow of mana that swirled violently around the mouse she'd "raised", but it was certainly twitching.
  390.
  391. And then it stood up and began to move around as Vira flicked her fingers, directed the tiny undead to run around on her desk.
  392.
  393. "Easy," she shrugged like it'd been effortless, though it was less a true revival and more she was piloting the thing like it was a puppet.
  394.
  395. With a flick of her finger, she sent her mouse after Chrom's newly "raised" one- intending to prove her superiority by having her mouse defeat his.
  396.
  397. She wasn't taking this too seriously, but her rolls had been pretty good andthus so was the power of her revived mouse.
  398. (Vira Bathory)
  399. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  400.
  401. [19:58]
  402. She finds herself beginning to move back towards her desk after all of the students(well...Most of the students) were able to raise their mice. And for the most part, she seemed rather satisfied with what had occurred. "Alright then...It seems that many of you are starting to get the hang of it. Do know that since the anatomy of each creature is different- and some are more primitive to others, I suggest that you steadily work your way up. I do not expect you to revive humans immediately, so...You'll work with mice as of now and then, we'll head to bigger animals, perhaps, even those that are closest to humans themselves." she adds, nodding slightly. "As of now- consider this class to be over...I know that it may be rather 'short' for your liking...However, I'll be assigning homework to each of you along with a 'pop quiz'." she adds.
  403.
  404. "Those who return their homework to me will be rewarded with one token." she adds while beginning to pull out a single 'set' of gems...A lot of them seemed hollowed out, and made with the dullest of minerals, aimed to make filling them to be extremely difficult and yet...capable of holding mana.
  405.
  406. "Consider this to be a 'tester' of some sort...For those of you who have failed in resurrecting the mouse, it will assist in your concentration." she adds - going about the room...setting the gem on each of their tables.
  407.
  408. "The goal is to fill the crystal with as much mana possible without breaking it. If it's too much, it'll heaten and become too hot to the touch-...If it's too less, it'll remain cool. Once you've gotten the appropriate amount, it will set and the gem will shine." she states.
  409.
  410. "If there are any questions, feel free to ask them now."
  411. (Cho Grauhimmel)
  412. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  413.
  414. [20:02] Euclid promptly picks up the hollowed gem, inspects it, then gently places it inside of an inner pocket on his robe. He scans the room then sets his focus onto Cho, raising his right arm up before asking the question.
  415.
  416. "When is the next class?" he asks.
  417. (Euclid)
  418. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  419.
  420. [20:03] The boy leaned forward, picking up the small crystal which was still likely bigger than himself. Still, he managed to pick it up, blinking once or twice,"... Ah, this is cool!" He hummed happily, tilting his head side to side.
  421.
  422. "This seems hard..." He huffed, afterwards, before shrugging. More work, more ways to focus. This was fine.
  423. (Asterial)
  424. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  425.
  426. [20:05] Zio silently leans against the wooden divider.
  427. (Zio Aradel)
  428. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  429.
  430. [20:05] Satisfied with her actual resurrection of the mice - but dropped down on the table - and the almost breakthrough on her own concentration performance, Johanne removed those gloves, resting them aside the dead animal once again and sporting a small cheeky smile on her face as she listened to Cho again.
  431.
  432. Homework it seems; she was already expecting that. Not only it, but there was a small exercise with the gemstone as well.
  433.
  434. Hovering her eyes down the object, Oaks analyzed it as much as she could, still without touching the object, but her right hand quickly was rose, as if to call for Cho's attention to make a question indeed.
  435.
  436. "I have a question, Headmistress." she said, finally moving her eyes to meet the teacher. "It may help me infusing the gem a little, so..."
  437.
  438. Holding the gem with one of her hands, over her palm, she looked down to it as her voice was still directed to Cho.
  439.
  440. "Objects such as this, or minerals and natural ones such as wood and flowers- Do they also have mana circuits such as we do?" she asked, tipping the gem with the tip of her free finger, and finally looking back at Cho. "Should I be trying to feed my own mana it's...Uh...Circuits...Or just inside it's...Form?"
  441. (Johanne Oaks)
  442. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  443.
  444. [20:05]
  445. {LOAD GAME}
  446.
  447. [20:06] There's a clear feeling of awkwardness that stirs within him at the fact that he's probably the only one that couldn't resurrect the mouse at all, even if briefly, and to that there's a silent sigh spilling from his lips.
  448.
  449. Awaiting in silence, he watched as a small gem was placed on his desk- overhearing what Cho had to say regarding this, it seemed as a fairly easy task. If anything, crystals were at least far more durable than a body of a mouse, right?
  450.
  451. Pocketing it for another time to practice later, he'd make a simple exclamation.
  452.
  453. "No questions, Lady Cho."
  454. (Arthur Rowan)
  455.
  456. Only scowling slightly when Vira's more animated rat easily 'defeats' his own, Chrom eyes the gems they were to be handed out. When it came to mana control he was usually quite confident, though whether it would be worth the effort for only a single token remained to be seen.
  457.
  458. He wasn't a likely Necromancer in the end.
  459.
  460. The Occultist appears content not to ask further questions, merely muttering to the student beside him casually and quietly.
  461.
  462. (Chrom Sigma)
  463.
  464. Chrom Sigma whispers something.
  465.
  466. He just watched as she moved back towards her desk, his hands on his lap while he sat there silently. Just listening to her speak at the room of students, he barely scraped by with the mice. The thought of harder things filled him with dread.
  467.
  468. With that said, he was relieved the class he ended up in was over, as seen by a smile on his face until he saw her pull out the single set of hollowed out dull minerals.
  469.
  470. Staring at her set them on everyone's tables, until his gaze just followed the one placed on his desk. He reached forward, sliding it along the wood towards him before jamming it into his pocket, before looking back at Cho while she spoke.
  471.
  472. "I have no questions, uhhh… Thanks for the lesson."
  473. (Frank Armiger)
  474.
  475. Cho Grauhimmel says, "The ones that are engineered to possess such do. Otherwise, a regular 'rock' that exists does not. "
  476.
  477.
  478. Cho Grauhimmel says, "...Speaking of, you should try to feed your own mana into the circuits. "
  479. Her rat tumbled into Chrom's and swiftly beat the life out of it, darting quickly back over to Vira's end of the table. With a cocky smirk towards Chrom, she gave the rat a pat on the head.
  480.
  481. Vira also was an unlikely necromancer, but....
  482.
  483. Well, anything that could defeat Chrom endeared itself to her.
  484.
  485. Cho's instructions were met with a nod of her head as Vira let the undead mouse crawl over her palm, still glowing with that odd white mana that was a significant Neries trait. With a hum, she gave the boy at her side another glance with a dismissive shrug of her shoulders as she whispered back....
  486. (Vira Bathory)
  487.
  488. Cho Grauhimmel says, "In any event-...You all are dismissed."
