While trying to enjoy your lunch break, the dashing stranger you (the speaker) met on the train walks in. Just like before, you swoon and freak out. Only this time, you try to make your move.

[long sigh] Another day, another boring lunch break.

[a bit happier] At least I can enjoy a coffee and my favourite muffin! Gotta appreciate the little things.

What's been going on with me recently though? I'm so...distracted...

I bet it's because I saw that cutie on the train. Talk about a missed opportunity.

Can I even say that? I, uh...I probably wouldn't have done anything, let's be real...

But I'm not going to think about that now! I have my chocolate chip caramel muffin here to help heal my soul~

Something yummy to sweeten up this mediocre day.

Mmm...warm, sugary goodne- [coughing] /choking on muffin, can improv a bit of a coughing fit/


Oh my god I hope nobody saw that. Wow, I am *fumbling* today.

[frantic] What is he doing here? How is he- I was just thinking about him and now-

Oh no. I hope he didn't see me fail at...[sigh] eating a muffin...[groan] I am *not* a well-functioning human being.

[relieved] Ok great he didn't notice me at all.

[smug] I sure noticed *you*, you handsome devil~

Ummm...maybe I should stop crushing on him so hard. I've seen him like, what, once before?

Why am I so...infatuated? It's not his looks alone, right?

I mean...maybe? It's not like we've actually had a conversation. I at least know he reads the same books as I do. Well, one of them.

But how are we in the same coffee shop now? Only a couple days after our first meeting.

If you could even call it a meeting. All he did was smile. All *I* did was melt. [swooning sigh]

Seriously, though, same coffee shop? [squeal] I've never seen him here before so maybe he *is* new in town.


Ooh, what is he ordering? I think I can see if I- [SFX: crockery rattle]

[inward hiss]

Whew, close one. Almost knocked over my coffee.

I...I should relax. Don't need to draw attention to myself. Especially after that choking episode.

I should probably stop staring, too.

Well...maybe a bit longer.


Ahh...he's wearing the same scarf. [swooning] Ohhh my goddd, you're so cute, you know that? All snug for the cold~

[flirty] You know, if it gets chilly, you could always come to me~ We could cuddle all nice and close~

Mhmm. I'd warm you right up~

I...what?

[frantic] Oh, wait, he's going to sit down. Um, um...need to, uh...let me look somewhere else.


At least he's not sitting in front of me like last time.

Now I can admire him in relative safety...that's- that's weird. *I'm* weird.

[sigh] I think I should just finish my muffin and leave before I make things worse.

Annnd too late. He's looking my way.

[nervous] Me? H-hi? Hi...I guess? Cheers to you too? Maybe I should do a little bit of a wave?


Well, that was terrible. But does he actually remember me from the train ride? Is this, like, a second opportunity?

Ok! Ok, maybe I *can* do this! He's seen me, he remembers me, all I need to do is walk up and say hi for real. That's not that hard, is it?

Wait, but wait, what am I going to say afterwards?

And can I even do this? Like, am I allowed? What if he's waiting for someone?

Umm...ok, no! I *need* to do this. For me. If I don't, I could possibly lose my mind. Not that I'm not already losing it. [sigh]

I'm gonna...I'll do it. [with more confidence] I'll do it! I'll get up, and-

[inward hiss] Ouch. I'll get up and just knock my leg on the table.

Ok I'm not gonna do it. I can't.

[sigh] All that fake confidence, lost in an instant.

Just get me out. [groan] I...I need to leave. I hope he didn't see that. I could not have messed this up more.

I'm grabbing my stuff and I'm leaving *immediately*.

[embarrassed] Please don't look at me on my way out.

[SFX: store door bell (like the one that ding-a-lings on the way in)]
