  1. Alexithymiaa: -Steph sat in the waiting room waiting to be called in for her MRI that the gym physician had recommended she go and get. Her hand was pulled up to her mouth so she could continue to gnaw on her fingernails, staring straight ahead of her with her eyes trained on the floor nervously.-
  2. Covet: Felix was sitting next to Steph, glancing over at her as she went about her nervous ticks. "Do you think you did a number on it yet?" He asked her leaning back in his seat, draping his arm over the back of hers.
  3. Alexithymiaa: -She swallowed hard, turning her head to look at him next to her, still extremely reluctant to admit how it actually felt. "It hurts..." She pursed her lips and exhaled deeply, her eyes jumping up again when the nurse called her name. Slowly getting to her feet, she started to follow the nurse in silence, her limp more significant than it had been prior to cheer last night. Making her way slowly down the hallway, she turned into the room the nurse had gone in, glancing at the giant round machine with the bed positioned in front of it and just standing there awkwardly. // The nurse set Steph's chart down on the counter and reached into the drawer to pull out a sealed sanitary gown in plastic, setting it down on the bed. "We'll need you to remove your clothing and put the gown on. You can keep your undergarments on, and I will be back in a few minutes."-
  4. Covet: Felix followed along with Steph and the nurse, before leaning against the wall, trying to look casual and calm for her sake. And he was for the most part. He knew she was in a lot of pain right now, and he was still a little miffed that she'd played off how bad it was. But at least she was here, doing what she was supposed to be doing.
  5. Alexithymiaa: -She waited until the nurse had stepped out of the room and closed the door behind her so she could close her eyes and take a few deep breaths. Composing herself, she reached for the gown and tore the plastic wrapping open, pitching it into the trash and unfolding it. "I hate these things..." She mumbled, stepping out of her boots and nudging them to the wall. She carefully started to remove her clothing, folding them neatly and setting them on the counter before pulling the gown on and turning to look at him. "Have you ever had an MRI?"-
  6. Covet: "I doubt there is anything in here that you don't hate." Felix shook his head, "No just x-rays. It looks, a little clausterphobic if you ask me." He said looking at the big machine.
  7. Alexithymiaa: "It is.." She spoke in a small voice, pulling her arms uncomfortably around her middle. // The nurse gave a short knock on the door before walking in. "Okay, go ahead and hop up on here and lay down. Make yourself as comfortable as possible because once we start, you won't be able to move." She spun around and checked the chart before walking over to the display on the side of the machine. // Glancing at Felix briefly, she climbed up onto the bed and laid down, her arms moving to her sides stiffly. // The nurse moved over to Steph, strapping her onto the bed before feeding her to the machine monster.-
  8. Covet: He watched her intently and in a concerned manner, moving to where it was safe for him to be out of the way, and where he could see the screen, curious as to what was on there. His eyes darted back and forth between Steph in the machine and the monitors, unable to make heads or tails of anything he was seeing.
  9. Alexithymiaa: -She squeezed her eyes shut as the loud banging around her started, trying her best not to move. She chewed incessantly on her lower lip, her voice a whisper as she mostly just talked to herself. "Hurry up...." // The nurse keyed in a few numbers on the display and finished the test, having the results forwarded to the computer and triggered the machine to expell Steph from inside. "Alright, I'll just get everything set up and the doctor will be in shortly for you. You're welcome to get dressed." She said as she unstrapped her from the bed and turned to exit the room.-
  10. Covet: Felix made his way back over to Steph to help her off the table for the machine so she could do the changing things and all that. "Well, at least it was short, so it's not sooo bad." He told her trying to be comforting.
  11. Alexithymiaa: "It's awful." She said bluntly, reaching her hands out for his so she could slide off the table. She reached for her clothes, trying to get dressed as quick as possible. Slipping her feet into her boots, she turned to face him, moving in and wrapping her arms around his back. "Thank you for coming with me..."-
  12. Covet: Giving her a hug back he smiled and nodded, rubbing her back as well. " Of course, I know how much you hate it here. There has to be at least one thing in here that you don't hate to make it seem less awful."
  13. Alexithymiaa: "Well you are officially the only thing in here I don't hate, yes." She exhaled deeply, pulling back to look up at his face. "I'm nervous..." // Doctor Greene walked into the room with a few scans in his hands, smiling at the two of them. "Good to see you again, though I wish it were under better circumstances." He closed the door behind him and walked to the wall light, flipping it on and beginning to stick the scans onto it for easier viewing. "If you want to come over here, we can talk about your knee."-

Lighter colored areas represent bone and the absence of substance.” He paused taking a pen to gesture to the area between the two bones. “This is where your anterior cruciate ligament is. And if you look here, yours is very white in this area, which tells us there is a tear. Now considering there is scar tissue here from your last injury, this isn’t uncommon, especially given your history. Now we do have a couple options depending on what you’d like to do, but I recommend surgery as it’s the quickest to get you back on your feet despite the fact that it’s an invasive procedure.”

Repairing scar tissue is much more risky than fresh. Typically we would enter through the front of the knee with a small incision and repair the tear that way. In this instance we would need to enter through the side of the knee to avoid the damaged tissue. Depending on the case, this can be done orthoscopically, but we’d need further testing to determine if you’re a candidate for that.” He paused, looking at Steph. “Well there’s no guarantee it will heal naturally, but I would recommend switching to a metal brace for the time being, and staying off your feet as much as possible to give it time to rebuild itself.
