background : born in sendai, japan to wealthy parents, it wouldn't be an exaggeration to stress just how strict the household sai was raised in was. her family name was considered "illustrious," and before she even turned two years old, it was decided that she would continue on to be some sort of doctor or surgeon. from a young age, though, sai had always been playful and outgoing, and her parents feared that she wouldn't grow up to accomplish what they hoped for her. in her last year of elementary school, she was cast as the lead in a school play, which is probably where her love for acting began to blossom. the next year, at the age of 11, her family decided to move to busan, south korea because of her father's job. during high school, she joined the drama club against the wishes of her family, and it was around this time that sai decided she really did want to pursue something like this for the rest of her life, rather than medicine. when she was 16, her school tooka trip into seoul, where she was scouted by a relatively unknown company. despite knowing that she might not debut, she still ended up auditioning for the company. she didn't make it in, but she still moved in with her aunt (who resided in seoul.) over the course of a year, she auditioned four times for four different entertainment companies, and finally made it into yg entertainment. in 2013, she debuted as an actress, with a supporting roll, and since then, she has starred in various dramas that showcase her versatility as an actress.

personality : when you first meet sai,she seems like one of the nicest people ever, and is practically best friend material. she's caring, funny, easygoing, and is VERY good at keeping the conversation flowing. she's extroverted, and is the kind of person who'll pull you out of your shell and push you to do new and exciting things. she's like one of those people who you think are too good to be true... which, when you think about it, is actually a phrase applicable to sai. after getting to know her for a while, its not hard to see why she only has a close knit group of friends despite seeming altogether wonderful -- because the thing about her is that she doesn't just like something, she becomes infatuated with it. she's the type of person who feels very passionately about things, and gets very opinionated about those things. in this case, sai is practically OBSESSED with korean music -- namely, exo. most of her fans know of her secret love because of how much she gushes about them (with no shame whatsoever) on certain reality shows and vlives, etc. she never fails to mention that she looks up to them with THE most respect, and if she was ever to swerve away from her acting career into the music industry, she would love to be just like exo. thankfully, her love doesn't come off as creepy or overobsessed, and most find it endearing that she enjoys exo just like they do; it sort of makes her seem more human, and fans LOVE that she doesn't just seem like some stuck up famous person. to add to that fact, sai is the embodiment of overdramatic -- although, that might just go along with being an actress. in high school, she was definitely a HUGE theatre geek, and that hasn't stopped since then. along with having a thing where she emphasizes things ten times over, sai is the type of person who could start a conversation with anything about the most random things -- a stranger on the street, a convenience store clerk, even a dog or cat. hell, she could probably spend an hour discussing obscure sex lives with a cactus. basically, sai is just the definition of outgoing in its rawest form. most people, upon getting to know the REAL her, are a bit intimidated because of how... expressive she is with her feelings. but, you shouldn't be fooled, because honestly she's just a really sweet fluffball who's excited about making friends. she's wonderful at giving advice, and is probably the person you'd want to go to if you were feeling down. her bluntness and loud voice, along with what she likes to call her "charm" have a way of making people smile and forget (even if it is momentarily) what is troubling them, and she doesn't even try too hard. she's almost like you conscience with how great her advice is.

how they met : on set for the first ep of the show, or backstage for some performance (idk whichever you wanna do) sai was running all over trying to hide from her manager who she had made very mad. in her rush, she wasn't watching where she was going, and accidentally ended up toppling baekhyun over. so there they were, both lying on the floor, and sai could hear her manager's yells coming closer and closer. she didn't even think before she yanked him up and shoved him into a broom closet that was conveniently placed nearby. he tried to speak, but she shushed him, making sure her manager had gone before she let him talk. he asked her why she was hiding, and she told him that she had angered her manager by eating her breakfast -- he then saw the logic behind hiding. they stared at each other for a few moments... before realizing who the other was, and they both promptly freaked out -- sai because she LOVES exo (although she biases yixing and would much rather have been trapped with him, but she'll take what she can get) and baekhyun because she's probably his FAVORITE actress. ever.
