- UB Assembly
- Type: Rock/Steel
- Ability: Beast Boost
- BST: 570
- Looks like: Stone/metal wall with ghosty eyes
- Shown moves: Iron Defense and Iron Head
- Type based info: Rock/Steel types have sky high defense, low speed and below average low special attack and HP, contrary to this low special attack they have the widest movepool in terms of special attacks, only topped by pure normal types.
- Unique to this UB, the type and design trend eachother with the shown basic moves of Iron Defense and Iron Head to be just like Bastiodon/Aggron/Probopass.
- Prefered stat spread:
- 97 41 153 101 147 31
- The 97 HP and 153/147 defences trends down the path Probopass/Bastidon have with high defense and special defense but bashes in more HP
- with 101 special attack there will finally be a pokemon with the stats to take advantage of the movepool the type can provide, having acces to Ice Beam, Thunderbolt, Earth Power, Flash Cannon, Wide guard(for doubles) and Stealth Rocks. If we exclude Wide Guard for Aggron, all these moves are existing in the Probopass, Bastiodon and Aggron.
- The speed is low but still higher then Amoongus, Snorlax, Cofagrigus, Abomasnow-Mega, Mega Steelix and Slowbro/King.
- Man if only this thing was Ghost/Steel...
- One of my main issues with this type combination is the fact it sucks balls, never has a Steel/Rock type been past UU (gen 3 Aggron), RU(Aggron) all other gens, and aggron currently resides in PU in this generation. Considering Aggron had 50 speed and 110 attack with Rock Head + Head Smash alongside enough weight to spam Heavy Slam. It resided a role as a slow wallbreaker.
- UB Assembly doesn't look like it could move faster than Shuckle so it's utility to wallbreak slow walls with raw strength doesn't seem to be an option.
- What it will most likely be:
- 103 101 183 59 97 27
- It showed Iron Head as the standerd attack, its literally a brick wall that walks with his bricks.
- Based on that: higher Attack, sky high Defense, past that of Aggron and rest splashed into HP/SpD. If they want the mon to be viable they did need to give it atleast 33 speed to outspeed Snorlax and Amoongus(possibly for new VGC)
- overall the thing doesn't seem like it will be good in the least, defensively the steel/rock type only gives negative with 4x fight, 4x ground and 2x water weakness, suboptimal offensive coverage as Rock + Steel doesn't give what Rock + Ground or Steel + Ground could provide meaning it will lack out on STAB Ground. The ability is Beast Boost, and so far it's only that ability which doesn't help slow pokemon only able to finish of worn down opponants.
- The shown standerd move Iron Head could imply physical, if this were to be the case I guess it can use Earthquake and Heavy Slam, if so I guess that is alright offensively but same for the type, it's a missed opportunity.
- If it were to obtain generally utility rich moves like Stealth Rocks, Wide Guard and Recover, it might end up having some utility, if only it wasn't too slow to actually make use of Recover in a doubles environment.
- Unlike many other defensive types, Rock/Steel isn't much desired even with the following resistances:
- Normal ¼×, Flying ¼×, Rock ½×, Bug ½×, Psychic ½×, Ice ½×, Dragon ½×, Fairy ½×
- All seem nice and dandy untill you realise any good Normal, flying, Psychic, Bug, Dragon and Rock type has acces to Fight and Ground coverage. The Fairy and Ice Types will actually be in a possition where they are resisted but once again, better pokemon with better type combinations exist to do that already, not to mention the highly limited number of viable Ice types or the not too wide list of Fairy types. All this considered, it has nothing to be requested on a team for in terms of defensive type utility, aka the nr. 2 reason to use a defensive pokemon. Only other way would be direct utility based on ability or movepool for example Magic Bounce + Recover, Unaware + Recover or unique entry hazards or whatever. Ability is only known to be Beast Boost and movepool hasn't shown a signature move. I can't imagin any possible way this mon did be above NU. In NU it could actually do work __some__ work with Recover + Stealth Rocks, 31+ speed and Earthquake + Heavy Slam. This is untill you realise Steelix and Slowbro can wall, threaten and counter you.
- This mon will almost 100% sure be PU based on the previously mentioned info.
- Additional trends in UB's:
- 570 BST
- All base stats end on 1, 3, 7 or 9
- Tends to extreems, no UB has stats that are rounded besides Celesteela who has almost perfect 100 in all stats beside speed at 61, all the others have 1 to 3 stats that go above the already exceptionally high base 125 in whatever stat.
