  1. Spiders' larder.
  2. There is a very light rain shower. Ethereal strings of gossamer lichen stretch between the boughs of the trees and cover the undergrowth with a filmy mantle of green in this mysterious glade. The lichen hangs down from branches and lays a gentle hand upon everything it touches, bringing life and fertility. Animals and insects are abundant, birds sing and noble dragonflies flit about, celebrating nature in all of its forms. Light filters down from gaps in the treetops high above, making its way to the forest floor past the numerous ephemeral strands, refracting off the moisture on each one. Nothing resists the touch of the silky filaments; they adorn nearly every surface in the glen, havens for small creatures. Nearly everything has a coating of ethereal lime green. Hidden deep within the environment lies a mystic pathway. Settled within the branches of an ancient and skeletal tree roosts a murder of crows, their voices harsh and deafening as their caws peal through the air. Rising tall overhead, a totem of shadowed wood sits here, decorated with the offerings of the Glomdoring forest. A solstice stocking has been hung here. A blackthorn sapling clings tenaciously to the ground here. Casting darkness all around, a shadow totem thrusts up from the ground, chilling the air. There are 3 plain wooden kegs here. Rising from the forest floor itself, an overgrown table presents a wyrden bounty. A ghostly transparent squonkabonk stands here amidst a pool of putrid tears, rotten flesh wings protruding out from the many flesh folds along his back. Wisps of smoke rising from his smoldering hat, a monaciello fidgets excitedly about the area. Smoke curling from his nostrils, a fiery young wyvern flaps his wings here. The hulking form of Acosris, the giant scorpion is here, massive pinchers flexing open and closed. Ayaabe, the blossom stag stands here surrounded by flowers. Standing majestically, a lady-like penguin with a sparkling, opalescent scarf surveys the surroundings.

  77. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White gives Xenthos a respectful salute.
  78.
  79. Smiling brightly, you say to Viravain, "It is a festival, yes! To remember the Greev, and to celebrate what we have gained."
  80.
  81. Tilting Her head, Viravain corrects, "I am the creator of the Glomdoring, and the Wyrd, and all that you can see. Welcome to My forest.
  82. Viravain winks conspiratorially at Lilei.
  83.

  85. (Trasto): Gurashi says, ":x."
  86. (Trasto): Freja says, "Lol."
  87.
  88. Auraelia gasps in delight at the sight of Viravain, bowing low, then smiling gently as she resumes playing her rhythm, pausing her singing for the moment in deference to the Goddess present now.
  89.
  90. Luce reaches toward a teardrop pendulum reflexively, but stops shy of touching it.
  91. Rekath ponders an opulent, leather-bound brown sketchpad thoughtfully, looking it up and down.
  92. Auriella lays her head gently on Kreon's shoulder, entwining her fingers with Kreon's.
  93.
  94. You think to yourself: **deep green and brown, you hope that you make Her proud**.
  95.
  96. Her eyes flickering lightly with wyrden fire, Viravain says, "And still, none answer Me. What has drawn you all to My forest?"
  97.
  98. Xenthos tells you, "What have I missed so far?"
  99. Xenthos tells you, "Perhaps answering Her shall answer me as well!"
  100.
  101. Luce points accusingly at you.
  102.
  103. Harmony echoes in your mind as you sing to Spirit Warden Xenthos An'Ryshe, the Ebon Strategist, "Well, the forest shared a memory with us. But yes I should probably..."

  118.
  119. You smile gently, frills puffing with joy.
  120. Yinuish shifts her eyes suspiciously from side to side.
  121.
  122. The sound of a distant scream echoes between the trees, only to be suddenly cut short.
  123.
  124. With a melodic lilt, Lil Nemach, Rekath Ryseni of the Sand-sea says, "I believe the spider that normally nests here was, how did she put it... Put into time out."
  125.
  126. Viravain turns Her attention to Alarin and smiles a feral smile. "All of My crows are welcome here, even if they are misguided."

  131. Allixea sniffs the air while fluttering a cute little rabbit nose.
  132.
  133. Alarin Stormcrow says, "Thank You, Lady of Thorns."
  134.
  135. Like a gentle ripple in a crystalline pool, you say, "Well, if they would like to! I had assumed they were invited when I said all were welcome as long as they did not harm Your forest. Although, the spider that sits hear just seems hungry for peoples, which is why they are sitting outside."
  136.
  137. Viravain steps forward, the shadows beneath Her roiling as She moves, never allowing Her feet to touch the ground. "And so it shall be, little pebble. I will ensure they hunger no more -- until the festival ends."
  138.
  139. Many small, glowing red eyes peer out at you from beneath the trees, only to vanish moments later.

  148. You have emoted: Cheliyi practically thrums with excitement.
  149.
  150. You smile brightly at Rekath, your frills puffing with joy.
  151. You nod your head at Rekath.
  152.
  153. Lifting Her smile which does not touch Her eyes, Viravain, Lady of the Thorns says, "Tell Me about this festival, then. What do you celebrate?"
  154.
  155. You nod your head emphatically.
  156.
  157. Auraelia watches the spiders in the distance with a soft smile, her tail swaying as she plays a rhythm for the dancers that remain, and any to join.
  158.
  159. With a deep reverb, Contemptible Sutekh says, "From my understanding, this celebration is about the Greev killing everything and making room for the new."
  160.
  161. Aknarin slips into a watchful widow shoulder pin.
  162. Auriella strokes an empyreal ryujin tenderly.
  163.
  164. With a melodic lilt, Lil Nemach, Rekath Ryseni of the Sand-sea says to Sutekh, "A bit more nuanced, but yeah?"
  165.
  166. The larder moves, as if something enormous were making its way forward. A black widow emerges, its eight legs towering above you, and it chitters softly at the Goddess before it shrinks away into the darkness once more. She smiles after it fondly.
  167.
  168. Firmly, you say, "We celebrate the sacrifice, yes. We celebrate the loss, because of what we gained from it. We celebrate the reaping, because of the bounties we harvested, yes."
  169.
  170. The sharp staccato sound of chitin striking chitin can be heard as Acosris snaps his claws together, one after the other.
  171.
  172. Luce's breath catches in his throat.
  173. Luce becomes overwhelmed by it all and faints.
  174.
  175. You blink.
  176. Aknarin gives Luce the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.
  177. You frown at Luce.
  178. Tikki pets Luce ingratiatingly.
  179. Many small, glowing red eyes peer out at you from beneath the trees, only to vanish moments later.
  180.
  181. Tikki says, "He'll be fine."
  182.
  183. Auriella flashes Tikki a joyous smile.
  184.
  185. Lifting a brow, Viravain, Lady of the Thorns says, "Shall we feed that one to the larder? Speaking of sacrifice."
  186. Viravain strokes a wickedly curved scythe tenderly.
  187.
  188. Kreon smiles softly.
  189. Aknarin kneels down and poke Luce. "Clearly overwhelmed by the beauty of The Mistress and Her forest".

  202. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White glances askance at Luce.
  203.
  204. In a light, sing-song brogue, Freja Ysav'rai, Herald of Sacrifice says, "He would only be a snack for them."
  205. A calming, warm breeze swirls around Kreon as the fragrant scent of roses suffuses the area around her.
  206.
  207. Viravain steps lightly over the prone Luce and continues, Her shadows holding Her aloft. "Tell Me of the sacrifice. What does My forest remember?"
  208.
  209. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says, "Throw water on him."
  210. Alarin gives Thaldorn Thornfist, the White the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.
  211.
  212. Allixea Ysav'rai says, "But it would be interesting to watch."
  213.
  214. Spirit Warden Xenthos An'Ryshe, the Ebon Strategist says, "My understanding - though I have not been here long - is that feeding to spiders is completely voluntary for the duration of this Festival."
  215.
  216. Aknarin Stormcrow says to Tikki, "But his sacrifice would be greatly appreciated. Also amusing to see."
  217.
  218. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says, "...I would love to see that myself."
  219. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White nods his head at Aknarin.
  220. Alarin thrusts their palm towards their forehead and hits it with a resounding *smack*!
  221.
  222. In a chirpy tone, Psalmist Auraelia, the Trusting sings, "Fires yet burn, for new life to grow; the harvest only comes for the planters to sow."
  223.
  224. Tikki says to Aknarin, "Appreciated perhaps, but certainly not amusing for me. I need him later, he makes the most excellent pillow."
  225. A platinum furred lioness with small translucent wings paws the ground and shuffles about impatiently.
  226.
  227. The hollow voice of Sutekh reverberates in your mind, "Do you recall the time you came when I showed you the interesting bits of Magnagora? Would you mind showing me around once it is less busy?"
  228.
  229. Aknarin ponders the situation.
  230. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says to Tikki, "...what if I can have someone make you another pillow?"
  231. Aknarin's eyes sparkle with amusement at Thaldorn Thornfist, the White.
  232. Alarin Stormcrow says, "Thaldorn..."
  233. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White exclaims, "It's worth a try!"
  234.
  235. You have emoted: Cheliyi's gaze follows Viravain's movements, smile fading. "Well, I was not even -alive- for the Greev. But... It sounded terrible. Many peoples lost, even the original Guilds. The forest earlier..." She trails, off, expression pensive.
  236.
  237. Alarin rolls their eyes at Thaldorn Thornfist, the White.
  238.
  239. Devotee of the Tah'vrai, Irilara says to Alarin, "No, no. I want to hear the answer."

  244.
  245. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White snaps his fingers.
  246.
  247. With a melodic lilt, Lil Nemach, Rekath Ryseni of the Sand-sea says to you, "It was a bit... Dramatic."
  248.
  249. Like a gentle ripple in a crystalline pool, you say, "It sounded like the whole forest was crying out in pain, and then relief."
  250.
  251. With a melodic lilt, Lil Nemach, Rekath Ryseni of the Sand-sea says, "I believe the word upheaval could be used here."
  252.
  253. Tridemon squints slightly at Luce and concentrates for a moment, manifesting a ball of icewater in his right hand. Which he abruptly dumps on Luce's face.
  254.
  255. Luce gives a horrified gasp.
  256.
  257. Allixea sniffs the air while fluttering a cute little rabbit nose.
  258.
  259. Luce coughs softly.
  260.
  261. You have emoted: Cheliyi's frown quirks into a smile as Luce awakens.
  262. Tikki pats Luce in a friendly manner.
  263. Aknarin gives Luce a pained sigh.
  264. Luce pushes himself up and dusts off his suit, mumbling an apology.
  265.
  266. Aknarin Stormcrow mutters, "C.. .. still sacrifice?"
  267.
  268. Luce leans on Tikki seeking consolation.
  269. You peer at Aknarin unscrupulously.
  270. Odd sounds echo through the gloomy forest, their source undetermined.
  271.
  272. ---> new item ambient!!! god it's so cool
  273.
  274. The ominous booming of the shadowbeat echoes faintly from a three-finger ring bearing an amethyst scythe on Gabe's hand, and her eyes flicker with wyrden flames.
  275. The ominous booming of the shadowbeat echoes faintly from a three-finger ring bearing an amethyst scythe on Afollia's hand, and her eyes flicker with wyrden flames.
  276.
  277. Viravain smiles thinly as She listens. "Tell Me why the outsiders should know about the Greev. Where is it kept now?"
  278.
  279. Alarin Stormcrow says to Tridemon, "You just had to make sure it was icy, didn't you?"
  280. Allixea hugs Freja compassionately.
  281. Allixea touches a glowing emerald leaf, and leafy creepers push up through the ground and climb up Allixea's legs. The leaves turn brown and blow away, taking Allixea with them, leaving behind nothing but the loamy smell of the forests.
  282.
  283. Ocean waves echoing softly behind his voice, Tridemon Regalis, Keeper of Pure Waters says to Alarin, "It wakes people up more quickly."
  284.
  285. Nascent Feria Ebonrose, Attendant to the Wyrd says, "May be wise to move side conversations to later for now?"
  286.
  287. You feel inspired to point out that the Glomdoring is the only thing holding the power of the Greev at bay, for the Glomdoring's sake and for the world's.
  288.
  289. Tikki gives a loaf of aromatic herb bread to Jade Dreamer Luce Shevat.
  290. Thaldorn Thornfist, the White says to Alarin, "Tell him I want one?"
  291. Alarin rolls their eyes.
  292.
  293. You have emoted: Cheliyi glances at around the area, smile fading. "It is kept here, if I remember correctly. It is also kept alive in Thornwatch, so that we cull in its place. But it is important for people to know, I think, so that they better understand how important Glomdoring is. We keep it at bay with our change, and it is the only thing keeping it from waking and tearing apart the Basin to reap once more."
  294.
  295. Luce conjures a soft breeze laced with a touch of heat to dry his fur and suit, trying to make himself small as possible.
  296.
  297. Appearing from seemingly nowhere, Bizirik pads over to Alarin, a powdery donut shaped like a flower clutched in its smaller set of forelimbs. It clumsily hands a powdery donut shaped like a flower over to Alarin before quickly slinking away.
  298.
  299. Alarin gives a powdery donut shaped like a flower to Thaldorn Thornfist, the White.
  300.

  307.
  308. With a melodic lilt, Lil Nemach, Rekath Ryseni of the Sand-sea says to you, "To show the pride and strength of the Glomdoring to overcome and prosper even in the face of such a culling? The Wyrd will always persist, yes."
  309.
  310. You smile gently, frills puffing with joy.
  311. You nod your head at Rekath.
  312.
  313. Spirit Warden Xenthos An'Ryshe, the Ebon Strategist says, "I would go somewhat further - the greev is, of course, tied to the Glomdoring. There are some bits of its nature that are for us alone. But its purpose is that of the Glomdoring's purpose, and learning of the Greev helps us teach what the Glomdoring is, and what we can - and will - do."
  314.
  315. Auraelia continues to play on a percussive lyre with a tunable sound cavity as she watches Luce and the others attending them. "Such a strange way to show reverence to a Goddess..." She mutters, then shakes her head as she gazes to Viravain and your conversation.
  316.
  317. Beautiful wings of ice spring up from Xenthos's shoulder blades, expanding wider than any mortal's could, elegant yet cold. Crackling with the motion, they begin to fall apart, dissipating into the air as mist.
  318.
  319. Pilgrim Olyphar Ryseni asks Xenthos, "What the Greev is for the Glomdoring, the Glomdoring is for the Basin? Is that what you mean?"
  320. Rekath glances askance at Olyphar.
  321.
  322. Viravain's lips twist into a terrible smile. She nods once, and slowly, as if She were a spider Herself, She rises into the air, the shadows unfurling around Her. "Very good, Cheliyi, Xenthos. The Wyrd is the Glomdoring. The Greev is the Wyrd. All that separates you from immediate death is the will of those who dwell within My forest." As the shadows claim Her from view, Her voice remains, "So be merry, mortals, and be thankful that My woods hold this terror at bay for you."
  323.
  324. With a melodic lilt, Lil Nemach, Rekath Ryseni of the Sand-sea says, "Dang, I was hoping to ask Her for a sketch."
  325.
  326. Kreon smiles softly.
  327.
  328. You have emoted: Cheliyi chuckles softly, and nods in reverence to the spot where Viravain once stood.
  329.
  330. Rekath pulls on one ear with a heady sigh.
  331. Gabe's eyes sparkle with amusement.
  332.
  333. Xenthos lifts up a wizzer image box and points it at Rekath, pulling a lever on the side of the contraption. It begins to click and whirr, and a bulb rises up from the contraption. With a bright flash, you find yourself blinded momentarily. As your vision recovers, you notice a piece of paper floating into Xenthos's hands from the machine.
  334.
  335. Rekath gives Xenthos the once-over, eyeing him suspiciously.
  336.
  337. Spirit Warden Xenthos An'Ryshe, the Ebon Strategist says, "A sketch, just for you."
  338.
  339. You give a trillingly melodic laugh, your frills resonating with joy.
  340.
  341. The hinged doors on a portable incineration bin bend and contort to properly accommodate the size of a sketch of Rekath, before snapping shut with a clang. A sudden WOOSH follows, with a thin wisp of smoke wafting out from a minute gap between the doors. The doors on a portable incineration bin soon reopen, revealing naught inside but spent ash.
  342.
  343. Spirit Warden Xenthos An'Ryshe, the Ebon Strategist smiles and says, "No need to bother Her."
  344.
  345. With a melodic lilt, Lil Nemach, Rekath Ryseni of the Sand-sea says, "In the bin where it belongs."
  346.
  347. You roll your eyes.

  406.
  407. "My children, listen well -- keep your webs at bay while My forest celebrates," Her voice coos across the Glomdoring, as if She were talking to a newborn baby. "After, if any remain, devour them whole, for you have earned their flesh and blood."

  436.
  437. Xenthos blows lightly on the spore-like powder on the tip of the sparkler, which crawls briefly with shadows before igniting with shadowfire. For a moment, it flickers with an eerie incandescence before settling into a spirit grey shadowflame that sends ghostly sparks in every direction.

  452.
  453. Like a gentle ripple in a crystalline pool, you say, "So, this may not be as wonderful. But! When I was first planning this, I was asked to perform an event to show of the bounties and beauties of the Wyrd."
  454.
  455. Like a gentle ripple in a crystalline pool, you say, "I will go prepare that event now, so please feel free to stay here and enjoy the refreshments, yes."
