  1. “I’m here for a party of 2; on a date, you see, and she should already…oh! I see her, thank you!” a Mewtwo said, thanking the waiter at the door of the restaurant and jogging past them towards a small table nearby. At the table sat a Zoroark, looking a bit nervous and sipping from her glass of water. Seeing the Mewtwo, she realizes who she’s been waiting is finally here and stands up to greet him.
  2. “Hey,” he began, extending a hand to shake. “Nice to meet you! Rodney, but you can just call me Rod if ya want.”
  3. “Well, happy to meet you Rod; Alana, but I go by Lana mostly.” she replied, shaking his hand quickly and sitting back down. “I haven’t ordered yet, so whenever you’re ready,” Lana continued, taking another sip from her water.
  4. “Oh, you haven’t been here long, have you?” Rod asked, concernedly.
  5. “No, no” she started, smiling and blushing slightly, “just a few minutes actually, but I came hungry, so…”
  6. “Oh, I’m glad,” he sighed, sitting down, “I was worried I’d left you waiting when I saw you at the table.” Picking up a menu and beginning to skim through it, he realized that he’d left dead air between them, and cleared his throat.
  7. “MmHMM – excuse me,” he piped up, “so, uh, how are you doing?”
  8. [Goddamnit, what a dumb question] he thought. [small talk sucks…]
  9. “I’m um, I’m doing fine, I suppose.” She began, trying to salvage the already awkward air. “This is actually the first time I’ve done something like this in a while, uh, getting out, you know.”
  10. {why would that be important?} she thought, critical of her response. {ah, it’s something to talk about I guess…}
  11. “Oh, well me too I suppose…something like this, at least.” Some confidence entered his voice, now having something to talk about. “I haven’t dated in…well, in some time. I was out at this bar with friends recently, and you know how some buddies can be; ‘woah man, check HER out!’ ” He said mockingly, “ ‘c’mon, you should def go talk to her!’ Ya know, like I’m just gonna run over to some random girl and hit on her.”
  12. “Ha ha, yeah, I’ve had friends do similar things,” she replied, chuckling timidly, “with my friends it was usually more staring and gossiping about random ‘hot dudes’ they spotted. Wherever we would go, too. Friends can be funny like that, I guess.” She laughed quietly again, looking down at her menu and taking another sip of water.
  13. {GOD he’s so casual and I feel so tense…just breathe, talk to him…order dinner…that would help. Food. Good idea.}
  14. “Oh,” Rod started, seeing her glance back at her menu, “we should order; silly me, I’m getting hungry too!”
  15. [awesome, you had to make fun of friends as your opener. Smooth.]
  16. Waving down a server, the odd dates order their food and try sustaining themselves with small talk until their entrees arrive. Weather, family, some more friend gossip…
  17. {I like him, but I don’t think I can do it…I’m so damn awkward, and he can totally see it…guuhhh…}
  18. [god she’s cute, and she’s just a little bit chubby, and…oh, she probably thinks I’m just some jock with the way I introduced myself – ugh…]
  19. Salvation came in the form of two hot meals, the server an intervention for their internal discomfort. With their hot meals in front of them they were allowed a quiet moment, which they reveled in.
  20. [finally; maybe I’ll think of something actually interesting to say…]
  21. {finally, I’m starving and uncomfortable, and this at least solves one…}
  22. Quietly enjoying their meals, the two desperately thought of something more interesting to talk about, to little avail. As their plates dwindles, they began glancing back up at the other periodically, until their eyes inevitably met. The moment seemed to linger before the Mewtwo spoke up.
  23. “so,” he began, wiping his mouth with his napkin, “how; how was your meal?”
  24. [pfft, real original.]
  25. “it was quite good, actually,” she responded sheepishly, “it helped that I was pretty hungry, but it was good.”
  26. {neat, just sound like a glutton why don’t you…}
  27. The chatting began again, though it felt a bit less stressed after both parties had eaten. Still, they both had their inner doubts, and the conversation felt somewhat restrained for most of the night.
  28. “mHM— pardon me,” Rod cleared his throat, “well, I, uh, I hate to say it but we’ve been here a while…” he scratched his head, wanting some relief from his nerves but not really wanting h the night to end just yet. “Hate to say it, but it is getting a bit late, and, you know…”
  29. “y-yeah,” Alana interjected, “it is…I had a good time, Rod…” blushing profusely, she paused for a moment.
  30. [oh shit – okay, she could just be saying that, but…]
  31. {whatdoIsaynow, oh…what do people do after dates like this? Oh…}
  32. “would…would you like to come back to my place, for a little bit?”
  33. [oh…oh…]
  34. {why would you ask him that what are you THINKING}
  35. “I, uh,” he started, not expecting the question, “I’d like that yeah, that sounds good, yeah. Thank, uh, thank you!”
  36. All she could do was smile sheepishly. She really wasn’t thinking before she let the question loose, and all she could think about was what he would think of her.
  37. {I can’t believe it…good job Lena, really good idea.}
  38. As they paid their bill, which Rod was insistent on picking up, they walked out of the restaurant together, Rod giving Lena some space, both for her benefit and hers, as they were both still feeling horrendously awkward about the whole situation.
  39. [she’s definitely not one-hundred percent about this, but still…maybe she’s just rough out in public? She’s so damn cute…oh I hope I don’t screw this up. Just salvage a weird impression, that’s all…]
  40.
  41. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  42.
  43. A short walk left them at Lana’s apartment, and she was lucky enough to get a first-floor room. As she fumbled with her keys, her date piped up.
  44. “so Lana,” he asked, “why’d you go for a first floor room? The view from this building must be great from higher up.”
  45. “oh, well, I uh…it’s less expensive lower down; probably because of the view, and…I’m closer to the laundry room on this floor. I guess I never really thought of the, uh, the view…” she trailed off as she unlocked her door and stepped in. Rod noticed as she seemed to enter very carefully, like she was trying not to knock anything over…
  46. [come to think of it, she’s seemed really cautious the whole night… and I gave her space on the walk, but she seemed to want it. Maybe she’s got a personal space deal?]
  47. “I don’t mean to push myself in, but, uh,” he began quietly, “you wanna sit down, watch a, uh, a movie, or something?”
  48. She smiled at him nervously, but didn’t respond right away.
  49. “I-I mean, we don’t have to…” [you’re screwing this uuuuup…] “okay, can I be honest for a sec?” [oh good, screwup inbound and hot. No sense trying to slow it down now.]
  50. “um, sure, what uh, what’s on your mind?” {oh god he’s weirded out…and you didn’t even--}
  51. “I – I think you’re really cute, and I really wanna hang out with you right now.”
  52. [eh, could’ve done worse. Honesty counts, right?]
  53. {…okay, well, honesty counts right? You could do worse right now…}
  54. She sighed, and looking back at him with a strained smile, closed her eyes, and dropped the illusion she was holding up. The air around her seemed to warp for a split second, as if heated, and the Zoroark’s actual appearance suddenly revealed itself. All of itself.
  55. […oh.]
  56. A long moment passed, with a positively odd air about the room. The Mewtwo remained standing by the doorway, finding it hard to look away from the great, dark furred form in front of him, standing quietly in presumable shame and embarrassment. It was hard not to look at her: her bubbly rump jutting out behind her, her doughy gut spilling out in front, and two globes of breasts resting atop it. He could see her filled-out face on top of it all, eyes closed and her mouth no longer in a smile. He couldn’t help but keep staring…she was probably over 600…close to 700 pounds if he could guess, which he dared not do.
  57. She sniffed, and he watched her bring a chubby arm up to her face and wipe her eyes, which he now saw were beginning to tear up.
  58. “…y-you should go…” she said, choking on the tears slightly. “just…” *sniffle*
  59. “oh, no, I…”
  60. “please, just…you don’t have to look at me like this. I don’t know what I was thinking anyway…” she started to cry quietly, but sniffed hard and quieted herself once again.
  61. “Lana, I…” he began again, not quite knowing what to say to console her. Instead, he walked over and wrapped his arms around her, hugging her tightly.
  62. “wh…you’re…” she started to protest, but just started tearing up again, and realizing that she didn’t really want him to leave she wrapped her arms back around him and buried her head on his shoulder.
  63. They stood like that for a few minutes, the Mewtwo hugging his obese Zoroark date until she stopped crying.
  64. “I think that you think that I don’t wanna see you like this,” he quietly started after the tears stopped rolling. “I think I don’t care what you look like or how big you are, and you’re still the cutest fox I’ve ever looked at.”
  65. *sniff* “But I’m just so…” she started, trailing off. Beginning to blush, she pulled her face from his shoulder. “…you give good hugs.”
  66. “So do you,” he said, chuckling softly. “I get why you didn’t show me…you, earlier, but you don’t have to hide like that all day.”
  67. “I know I shouldn’t, I just…I don’t…” she didn’t quite know how to tell him what she was thinking, and paused for a second. “…I know I probably shouldn’t, but I like feeling like this.” She released him from her hug and dropped her arms to her side, patting her enormous belly in the process. “I just…have such a hard time doing things now. I get so embarrassed…”
  68. “Hey hey hey, don’t think about that too hard. Nobody said you should feel bad about being fat. I mean, I can understand why you enjoy it, and even if I didn’t it’s your body so why would I care? Why should I care?” he stepped back and made a wide gesture at her. “nobody cares if you’re fat, and even if someone does, who cares? Right?”
  69. “I…I know that, I just…still, I don’t feel right just walking all of me around…” she sighed, not knowing what else to say again. “I’m just tires of hiding…this.” She said dejectedly, hefting a breast up just to let it plop back down on her belly. “I’m…really big.”
  70. “Well, I mean no argument here, heh,” he replied, but the smile left his face as Lana threw a sour look at him. “…Sorry, I…I don’t mean to push myself on you. If you really want me to go –”
  71. “No, I…” she said hastily. “I…could you stay, maybe the night? You’ve been so nice to me, and if you really don’t mind…” she began blushing bright, and turned away from him when she realized. “I do like you back, you know.”
  72. He smiled warmly. “Sure, I’d love to.”
  73. The two sat down on her couch, there being just enough room for the both of them to fit. They were both still a bit timid from their night as a whole, but they put a movie on and tried to wind down from a particularly odd day for the both of them.
