Digital Worlds: a Digimon and Code Lyoko Fanfic

Prologue

	Before the eight well-known Digidestined (Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, T.K., and Kari) ever ventured into the Digital World, there was another group of five humans who went there. These were the true first Digidestined. The Leader of the team was a young man name Franz Hopper. The five of them faced a powerful evil Digimon named Xanamon (who would later be succeeded by Apocalymon, the main enemy the later 8 Digidestined faced). Unable to properly destroy or defeat Xanamon, the five of them lured Xanamon into an uninhabited part of the digital world, and then severed that part from the rest of the digital world. Gennai, another of the five original Digidestined, decided to remain in the Digital World and make sure Xanamon didn't find away back. Years passed and, about the same time that the next 8 Digidestined were fighting evil in the digital World, a group of kids attending an academy near where Franz Hopper had lived stumbled onto Franz's secret supercomputer inside an old abandoned factory. When one of them, Jeremy Belpois, booted up the supercomputer, he discovered the severed part of the Digital World (now called Lyoko) and a mysterious girl named Aelita who was living there. Jeremy and his friends, together with Aelita, prevented numerous attempts by Xanamon (now called XANA) to attack our world or to escape into it. Eventually XANA took control of their friend William. After some struggles, they rescued William and supposedly defeated XANA for good. With the supercomputer once again turned off, the threat seems to have passed.


About 2 Years Later


	Gennai and Franz are having lunch together at Gennai's house in the Digital World: Gennai in his usual blue and red toga, Franz in his usual white labcoat, red sweater and grey pants. Gennai just finished telling Franz about the 8 recent Digidestined and their battle with Apocalymon. Franz had also told Gennai about Jeremy Belpois and the "Lyoko Warriors".

	"Seems like the threats to both parts of the Digital world have been dealt with. Are we sure Xanamon, or XANA, is gone for good?", Gennai asks Franz.

	"It would seem that way", Franz responds. Suddenly, an alarm sounds from a supercomputer in the back room of Gennai's house which is near-identical to the one Franz built inside the factory.

	"It would seem you spoke too soon", Gennai remarks, "I hope the other three maintained their supercomputers as well".

	Over in Detroit, Michigan, a plump dark-skinned man in a white labcoat is walking down the halls of Sumdac Industries, a little girl in a yellow and orange dress with red hair tied in pigtails walking right beside him. An alarm begins blaring.

	"This way, Sari", The man beckons to his daughter. father and daughter race down the hall to a room Sari had never been inside before. A bizarre-looking supercomputer, set up in the center of the room, is the source of the alarm.

	Somewhere in South Dakota, an old man in a red and orange Hawaiian shirt is driving down the road in a beat-up RV with his grandson Ben, his granddaughter Gwen, and their friend Kevin. A device on his dashboard activates and sounds an alarm. The man pulls his RV off the road as the approach Mount Rushmore. Moments later, they descend into the Mount Rushmore base of a super-secret agency called the Plumbers.

	"Max Tennyson reporting in. I have a Code Lyoko", the old man explains. Max, Ben, Gwen, and Kevin race down the hallway until they come to a room with a bizarre supercomputer in it.

	"Grandpa Max, what in the world is a Code Lyoko?" Ben asks.

	At an arcade not too far away, a man in a white shirt and grey pants named Litwak responds to an alarm coming from a bizarre supercomputer in the back of the arcade.

	"Didn't think I'd ever have to do this", Litwak comments to himself. He hooks a plug into the surge protector a bunch of the arcade's games are plugged into. Within the surge protector, in the world of video game characters known as Game Central Station, a large number of video game characters take notice of the new plug-in, which is labeled "Lyoko". Among them are Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz.

	At Kadic Academy in France, Jeremy Belpois returns to his dorm after another day of classes. His girlfriend Aelita is waiting for him. As the two prepare to kiss, Jeremy's laptop gives off an alarm. Jeremy opens it and it doesn't take but a minute for Aelita and him to realize what it means. An enemy they thought was gone for good has come back again.

	"We better round up Ulrich, Odd, and Yumi, then head over to the factory", Aelita suggests.

	Over in Japan, Izzy receives an email from Gennai. Gennai wants him and the other 7 digidestined to head for the digital world and meet up with Gennai at his house.

	A short while later, Tai, Matt, Sora, Izzy, Mimi, Joe, T.K., and Kari are standing in Gennai's house along with Gennai and another man whom Gennai identifies as Franz Hopper.

	"My internet pen pal Jeremy has mentioned the name Franz Hopper before", Izzy remarks.

	"Has Jeremy ever mentioned a place called Lyoko?" Franz asks Izzy.

	"No", Izzy answers. Franz notices the names of two of Izzy's other pen pals: Gwendolyn Tennyson and Sari Sumdac.

	"Your friends Gwen and Sari wouldn't happen to be related to Isaac Sumdac and Max Tennyson, would they?", Franz asks.

	"Max is Gwen's grandfather and Isaac is Sari's father", Izzy explains.

	"Isaac and Max were also part of our Digidestined team. The fifth member of our team is a man named Litwak. I hear he opened an arcade somewhere", Gennai explains.

	"I've heard of Litwak's Arcade before. Sari mentioned going there to play one of her favorite arcade games: Sugar Rush Speedway. The arcade also has old-school games like Fix-It Felix Jr. and more modern games like Hero's Duty. I actually have all 3 of the games I just mentioned on my laptop, but that's beside the point", Izzy explains.

	"I want you to contact Gwen and Sari and have them relay a message to Max and Isaac to get to their supercomputers. Have Sari also relay the message to Litwak. Xanamon, or XANA as its called nowadays, is up to something", Franz requests of Izzy.

	"What is Lyoko? and who or what is Xanamon or XANA?", Izzy asks.

	"Gennai, Isaac, Max, Litwak, and I were the first 5 Digidestined. Xanamon was the final evil Digimon our team faced, like how your team fought Apocalymon", Franz explains, "We weren't able to destroy Xanamon, or really even defeat it, so we trapped it in an uninhabited part of the Digital World, and then severed that part from the rest of Digital World. Over time, Xanamon has transcended physical form and exists as an evil force called XANA in its offshoot part of the Digital World, which it has expanded into an entire world which we named Lyoko. Recently, Your friend Jeremy, and some friends of his, reactivated my supercomputer, and were able to defeat XANA and rescue my daughter Aelita, who had been taken by XANA when it was still Xanamon", Franz explains. Izzy gets busy sending out messages to Jeremy, Sari, and Gwen.

	Jeremy arrives at the factory with Aelita, Odd, Ulrich, and Yumi. Their other friend, William, is out of town right now. As they enter the room with the supercomputer, Jeremy gets a message from his pen pal Izzy, who lives in Japan. Jeremy pulls out his laptop, then realizes the message is on the supercomputer itself, not on his laptop.

	"Izzy, how did you manage to message me via the supercomputer?", Jeremy asks.

	"I know about Lyoko. Gennai and Franz told the eight of us everything. Gennai has a supercomputer in his house that is like Franz's. I used it to message you as well as Gennai's other Digidestined allies, who each have their own supercomputer. Gennai is gonna send the eight of us to Lyoko from this end. You send Ulrich, Odd, Yumi, and Aelita to Lyoko from your end. We'll meet up on Lyoko along with a few other allies and deal with whatever XANA has planned. I also have a few things to tell you about Lyoko and XANA that you might not know", Izzy explains.

	A Short time later, the Lyoko Warriors meet up with the Digidestined in Lyoko's forest sector. Gennai had virtualized their Digimon along with them, but it caused each Digidestined kid to become merged with their Digimon. Tai is half-Greymon, Matt is half-Garurumon, Sora is Half-Birdramon, Izzy is half-Kabuterimon, Mimi is half-Togemon, Joe is half-Ikakkumon, T.K. is half-Angemon, and Kari is half-Angewomon (which makes her look somewhat like Aelita). Sari joins them as Izzy is explaining what Gennai and Franz told him about Lyoko and XANA. Sari's Lyoko form looks like a mech/robot version of herself.

	"Sari looks like a female version of that iron dude from those old comic books", Odd remarks. Isaac contacts Jeremy and Gennai via their supercomputers.

	"Sari got word to Litwak. He has his supercomputer right there in his arcade, but no one he can virtualize onto Lyoko other them himself, and he said he's too old to be fighting XANA. Max contacted me and said he was gonna virtualize his grandson, granddaughter, and their friend onto Lyoko", Isaac explains.

	"haven't heard from you in a while, Isaac", Franz remarks, "I heard you encountered some kind of alien robots that turn into cars".

	"They're called Autobots", Isaac explains, "And they are too big to fit in the scanners, so I can't virtualize them. the Autobot called Bumblebee might be able to fit in one, though". Three more individuals approach Sari, the digidestined, and the lyoko warriors. One is a dude in green armor on a hoverboard with a big "10" on the front of his chestplate, the second is a girl in glowing pink and purple armor, and the third is a guy in black armor with spikes.

	"Ben, Gwen, and Kevin have arrived in Lyoko", Max informs everyone. He's managed to connect to the other supercomputers as well.

	"I'm here too, but I'm not going to Lyoko", Litwak adds. All five supercomputers are now active. Izzy fills the newcomers in as to the backstory of Lyoko and XANA. As they discuss what to do about XANA, a large number of XANA's monsters descend upon them. Kankrelats (tiny creatures resembling roaches, but with big heads), Hornets (flying versions of the Kankrelat that have stingers), Tarantulas (snake-like monsters with two arms that are cannons), Crabs (tall red monsters that are round on top and supported by three spindly legs), Tanks (sideways cylinder-shaped creatures that roll across the ground), and Blocks (cube-shaped creatures that walk on small skinny legs) surround the Lyoko Warriors and their allies. Everyone leaps into action.

	"Going Hero!", Ben yells as he smacks a weird watch on his arm. In a flash of green light, Ben turns into a tall red creature with four arms, which begins pummeling XANA's monsters. The 8 digidestined use thier Digimons' attacks.

	"Nova Blast!", Tai yells and flings a big fireball at a group of Kankrelats, vaporizing them.

	"Blue Blaster!", Matt yells, taking out a Tank with a blast of blue energy.

	"Meteor Wing!", Sora yells, and takes out a Crab with a barrage of small fireballs.

	"Electro Shocker!" Izzy yells, and looses a blast of electric energy which takes out two Blocks

	"Needle Spray!", Mimi yells, and spins around hitting several Hornets with cactus needles

	"Harpoon Torpedo!", Joe yells, and fires a missile at a Tarantula.

	"Hand of Fate!", T.K. yells, and makes a fist which glows and then fires a beam of light that takes out a Tank and a Crab.

	"Celestial Arrow!", Kari yells, and fires a huge arrow made of light, which hits a Block dead on and destroys it. Gwen shoots around hitting various monsters with blasts of pink energy. Kevin lobs spikes around, taking out several monsters. Sari flies around firing off laser blasts from her hands and from a key embedded in the chestplate of her armor. The Lyoko warriors take out the monsters using their usual attacks. For a while, they and their allies seem to be winning against XANA. Things start going downhill when Ben's Omnitrix times out and he turns back to his human form. XANA's monster surround him and prepare to strike.

	"I'M GONNA WRECK IT!", someone yells. everyone notices a go-kart seemingly made of candy zooming towards the battle. A big man leaps out of it and slams down hard on XANA's monsters, sending a bunch of them flying and destroying several more. The go-kart suddenly warps past XANA's monster, someone inside it drags Ben into it, and the go-kart zooms away till its clear of XANA's monsters. The driver of the go-kart is a little girl in a green hoodie, a brown miniskirt, and green and white pants. Sari recognizes her and the big man who just took out at least a fourth of XANA's monsters at once.

	"Wreck-It Ralph and Vanellope Von Schweetz", Sari excitedly introduces them. Litwak hears Sari say their names and is taken aback. He knows those characters from the Sugar Rush and Fix-It Felix Jr. games in his arcade. Litwak decides he has to see this for himself and heads to Lyoko.

	Ralph and Vanellope are surprised to see Litwak suddenly materialize in Lyoko (his Lyoko form resembles a referee).

	"It really is you", Litwak remarks, "how did you two get to Lyoko?".

	"After you plugged in this Lyoko thing, Ralph and entered though its plug.", Vanellope explains. Ralph explains to Litwak about how the arcade games' characters leave thier games after the arcade clsoes and gather together, and how the surge protector that all the games are plugged in contains "Game Central Station", where characters can travel between games.

	"Sorry to interrupt you, but XANA's monsters are leaving in the direction that you two came from", Izzy points out

	"Ralph just told them "Hey, you can leave Lyoko this way", so of course they are gonna go in the direction that Ralph and Vanellope came from", Jeremy points out. Everyone chases after XANA's creatures and soon finds themselves leaving Lyoko and entering Game Central Station. The place is in pandemonium mas XANA's monsters are attacking various video game characters. A blue blurr is running around at superspeed taking out XANA creatures left and right.

	"That'll be Sonic", Vanellope remarks. Just outside a game labelled "Super Smash Bros" a fat guy in overalls and a red cap and a skinny guy in overalls and a green cap are throwing fireballs and turtle shells at various XANA monsters. A blonde guy in a green tunic is slashing at the monsters. He pulls a bomb out of no where and hits a hornet that was dive-bombing Aelita with it. The hornet is destroyed in the ensuing explosion. Outside a game labelled "Splatoon", a pair of half-human/half-squid creatures, a boy and a girl, are shooting monsters with ink guns. A tall blonde woman in a black suit of armor and a short guy in blue overalls with a gold hammer attached to his belt approaches the Lyoko warriors.

	"What is all this chaos", the woman asks Ralph and Vanellope.

	"Not sure I can fix this", the guy with the hammer adds.

	"We need to lead the monsters back to Lyoko", Yumi suggests. Aelita gets the monsters attention, then flies back into the entrance to Lyoko. One by one, the monsters follow her until none of XANA's monsters remain in Game Central Station. The rest of the Lyoko warriors and their allies return to Lyoko as well.

	"While you all were away, I located the tower XANA activated, but then XANA started activating towers all over the place. There's activated towers in every sector", Jeremy informs everyone.

	"Deactivating towers is one thing I can do here", Litwak adds.

	"The five of us who were the first Digidestined, and anyone directly descended from us, can deactivate towers on Lyoko. This means Aelita, Sari, Ben, and Gwen", Gennai explains.

	"You'll need to split into teams", Franz suggests, "I'll have Gennai virtualize me onto Lyoko so I can help. Litwak, Aelita, Sari, Ben, Gwen, and I will each need you be on a different team so we can deactivate the towers". A minute or so later Franz Hopper materializes on Lyoko. His Lyoko form doesnt look much different from his human form aside from some added armor.

	The Lyoko warriors go with Aelita to the forest sector. The eight Digidestined go with Franz to the mountain sector. Sari has her dad virtualize Bumblebee onto Lyoko (As they thought, he's the only Autobot small enough to fit in a scanner), and he gives her a lift to some towers in the desert sector alongside Ralph and Vanellope. Ben and Gwen both go to the ice sector, but then split up to hit all the activated towers there. Kevin goes with Gwen while the Mario brothers and Link go with Ben. Litwak hits another part of the desert sector, accompanied by Inkling Boy , Inkling Girl, and Sonic. Sergeant Calhoun and Fix-It Felix Jr. remain behind to keep as many of the other monsters as possible from following the teams, and keep them from getting back into Game Central Station.

	The teams manage to deactivate the towers one by one. Gennai receives another alarm on his supercomputer, and realizes what XANA's real plan is.

	"XANA is making Lyoko head towards the Digital World. It probably wants to re-connect Lyoko to the Digital World. However, Lyoko has grown into a world of its own since being severed from the Digital world. If the two worlds meet, they wont simply re-connect. They'll collide and, more than likely, both will be destroyed", Gennai explains, broadcasting over all of Lyoko so everyone hears him.

	"No way we're letting that happen", Tai yells, "Step on it, guys". Ben and his team, along with Gwen and Kevin manage to deactivate all the towers in the ice sector. At the behest of the Mario brothers, they warp to the desert sector to check on Litwak and his team. XANA's monsters seem to think Litwak is the easiest target to eliminate because a horde of them have him and his team surrounded. Sari, Vanellope, and Ralph arrive on the scene.

	"The tower Litwak was heading for is the last activated tower in the desert sector", Sari explains.

	"It looks like every monster in the sector is guarding it, too", Vanellope adds.

	"In that case, Vanellope, let's have us a little demolition derby", a female voice yells out. A girl in a pink outfit, driving a pink candy go-kart is heading their way. A whole fleet of other candy go-karts is right behind her.

	"In that case, I'M GONNA WRECK IT", Vanellope responds, imitating Ralph. She jumps into her candy go-kart and rallies with the other Sugar Rush racers. The lot of them run down, and run over, XANA's monsters. With the path clear, Litwak hurries into the tower.

	Inside the tower, a screen appears in front of Litwak. He places a hand on it. LITWAK flashes on the screen, and then CODE LYOKO. Glowing bits of data cascade down the inside of the tower and vanish, signaling that the tower is deactivated. Litwak emerges from the tower to see that all of XANA's monsters have disappeared from the desert sector.

	"All towers are now Deactivated", Jeremy reports.

	"Lyoko has stopped heading towards the Digital World", Gennai confirms.

	"Does that mean Litwak just saved the world?, Ralph asks.

	"Two worlds, actually. Possibly three", Litwak responds.

	A few weeks later, the Lyoko warriors and their allies are hanging out in Game Central Station. Litwak has his arcade closed "for remodeling", but this is mainly so he can plug back in some games for the gameless characters in Game Central Station. He also promised to check with the characters themselves before unplugging any games in the future. In exchange, the characters agreed to appear in the arcade in the human world (which they can reach via Lyoko and the scanner) to sign autographs for gamers. The video game "Super Smash Brothers" has become popular among the Lyoko warriors and their allies. Ben likes trying out his alien forms against various Smash fighters. An angel-like fighter named Pit developed a crush on Aelita, but she trounced him in battle anyway. Odd found a rival in a tall, purple man named Waluigi, and helped Waluigi get coded into the game as an actual fighter instead of just a support character. Gennai, Franz, Isaac, Max, and Litwak keep an eye on Lyoko in case XANA tries anything again. They now have a whole network of "Lyoko warriors" they can call on if they need to, but for now, everything seems peaceful.
