- Description: Lockett waited until John left the house with their two children, before breaking inside and taking Adelia hostage. He then waited for John to return, before shooting him four times with a .32 caliber pistol as he entered his home. He forced Adelia to take John’s wallet from his pocket, before forcing her into the car, which he drove to a chicken house owned by his grandfather. Once there, he shot her twice in the head with a .22 caliber rifle. He then stripped the Calhoun’s car for parts, which he hid in the chicken house, before walking through the woods back to his home, and falling asleep.
