BACKGROUND: Kaeui was ok in school, she wasn't a straight As student but had never failed a class before. Kaeui had never thought of being an idol, but she had loved singing and dancing since she was young. Acting too.

One day, her friend asked her to go to Korea with her to acompany her to audition for SM. In the beginning, Kaeui wanted to go because she wanted to see what 'the' SM looked like. A few days after the audition, a SM staff bumped into her and her friend when they were walking around Hongdae and the staff happened to be there during the audition and spoke chinese. She recognized the two and asked Kaeui if she wanted to join SM, her parents immediately agreed. In the beginning her friend was kind of jealous since she was rejected, but in the end she got over it.
