Chicken noodle soup

Alexithymiaa: -Brad was in the process of setting up his tripod in front of the counter to film Connor making chicken noodle soup for Kelsey. Fussing over the settings of the camera, he grabbed his piece of white paper he'd brought along with him and stuck it in front of the camera, adjusting his white balance for the room before just giving it a little toss because he didnt need it anymore.-
Covet: Kelsey had been sitting at the table, kind of wrapped up. She still had classes to go to, today, but she was all set up and comfortable with a blanket and a mug of warm tea in her hand, as she watched the boys doing their thing. // Connor was standing behind the counter bouncing on his feet while he watited for Brad to stop Fussing about. "Is it ready yet Dad?"
Alexithymiaa: "Yep, we're ready to go buddy, just two seconds." He said as he adjusted the cord that was running down from the camera to the microphone he'd set up to get better audio of him talking. Once he was pleased with his set up, he hit record, giving Connor a thumbs up. "Ready to go when you are."-
Covet: Kelsey smiled watching them from where she was. // Connor smiled and waved at the camera. "Hi, I'm Connor, and this is another episode of Cooking with Connor. Today we're going to be making Chicken Noodle Soup. Because my Momma has the same cold My dad and I had last weekend. It sucks. But this soup will make it better." He said explaining.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad smiled as he watched the monitor he'd set up for easier viewing of what was on camera, but also so Kelsey could see what was in the frame as he was going. He gently zoomed in after Connor made his intro for the video, closing in the shot a bit.-
Covet: "To start off you're going to fill a soup pot with some Chicken stock, or broth." He said opening the container's pour spout, putting it into the pot. "You'll need to have the stove set to medium and while that's warming up you can work on the other ingredients to go in." He said then reached for the celery first. "You'll chop up some celery, and carrots, a lot of them if you want a nice thick soup. And some onion, and parsley." His ingredients were already cut up for the time being, so he just poured them into the pot.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad zoomed in further on the ingredients going into the pot, holding up a hand so Connor would pause for a minute and he could get the pick up shot before zooming back out to focus on him and his further instructions.-
Covet: Once he was allowed to, Connor spoke again, " Once you have all your veggies in, then you add your chicken. You can use any leftover chicken, or turkey if you have it. And just chop it up a bit. SO that it's in smaller bites, doesn't have to be pretty. And put that into the pot." He said doing just that.
Alexithymiaa: -He put his finger on the zoom, slowly pushing in on the pot as Connor added the chicken. He sent him a quick thumbs up since he was doing well and he wanted to communicate that without screwing up the audio.-
Covet: "Cover that and let it do it's thing. It will simmer and cook the veggies down. Until then We're going to make our noodles." He said with a grin, getting the pre-measured flower, eggs, salt, milk and butter out. "We're making homemade egg noodles, but you can use store ones, just follow the cooking time on the bag." He said.
Alexithymiaa: -Brad gently picked up the tripod, walking carefully with it forward because he was going to need a high angle to get Connor's hands working the pasta.-
Covet: "First, add your flour, then the salt, eggs and butter all into one bowl. Then you take the pastry cutter, or a fork and you mush everything together until it is sticky." He said working the dough into it's sticky mixture.
Alexithymiaa: -While Connor was making his dough, Brad zoomed in close on his hands to get a shot of him mashing the ingredients together, slowly pulling back and setting the tripod back down on the floor. He waved his hand through the air, gesturing for him to keep going.-
Covet: "Now that it is sticky, we put some flour on the table and dump the dough out." He did that patting the bowl to make sure it came out in one blob onto the table. "We're going to put more flour into it while we knead it. Until it's at the right consistency that we want." He worked the dough for a bit, once it was ready he let it sit, "You have to let it rest for like five minutes. It's a pasta rule."
Alexithymiaa: -Brad smirked as he watched Connor, leaving the camera for just a moment to walk over to Kelsey, keeping an eye on the monitor he had set up. "This is his first one without an assistant. He's doing awesome." He spoke in a whisper.-
Covet: "Really?" Kelsey said in surprise. "Holly said she helped him cut everything up earlier." She added softly. // "Okay now we can roll out, and cut the dough." He said then grabbed the rolling pin that was a bit big for him,but he did it anyways. The dough was a little uneven, but it didn't matter for this sort of thing. "Once it's all flat then you can take a pizza cutter and start making thin or thick noodles. OR short or long ones."
Alexithymiaa: "I meant without an assistant helping in the video. This one is just all him on camera." He clarified, looking to Connor again. He reached over to the camera, zooming in on his hands to get the shot of cutting the dough.-
Covet: "I'm so proud of him." Kelsey said with another whisper. // Connor was making long skinny noodles, but cutting them in half to make them a little easier to eat. "When they are all done, you can roll them about in some more flour, so that it will help thicken up the soup a little too." He said rolling them in some more flour before putting them into the pot. "You'll let it all boil and simmer for about fourty five minutes."
Alexithymiaa: "Me too. Let me get this." He said, leaving Kelsey to move back to the camera to pull out a bit and widen the shot as Connor moved the noodles to the pot. Assuming there was another pot of soup that was ready to be served since no one waits for things to cook in these videos, he cut the shot, walking into the kitchen. "Need helping getting the other one dished up?"-
Covet: "Yes please, Dad." Connor said. "Then we can bring it to Momma." He said with a smile. Waiting for Brad to help him. "It's going to be really hot."
Alexithymiaa: "Mhm, but that's a good thing. Cold soup is gross." He said with a face, getting a dish out for Kelsey and beginning to scoop it with the ladle into the bowl. He set it down on top of a larger plate so it would be easier for Connor to carry. "Alright, let me turn the camera back on and we'll get you bringing it over okay?" He asked him, walking out of the kitchen and back to the camera to turn it on.-
Covet: "Okay Dad." He said waiting for Brad to give him the okay, before he walked with the bowl over to Kelsey. "Here you go Momma, eat this it will make you feel better." // Kelsey smiled leaning down to give him a kiss on the head. "Thank you kiddo, I appreciate it. Let's give it a try?" She asked then took a bite smiling. "It's delicious."
Alexithymiaa: -Brad slowly panned the camera on the tripod over to follow Connor on his journey to Kelsey with the soup, zooming in on her as she tasted it. He gave her a thumbs up before pointing to Connor to do his little outro.-
Covet: Connor turned around and smiled at the camera, "And that's how to make Chicken Noodle Soup. Check back soon for my next video and don't forget to subscribe." He said then waited for his cut cue. // Kelsey smiled at him as she continued eating the soup. "This is really good kiddo, you did amazing at following the recipe."
Alexithymiaa: -As soon as Connor was done, brad cut the video, turning the camera off. "Perfect. Good job, little man. I'll get this edited over the next couple of days and then we can post it and everyone can see what a great chef you are. It's perfect for this time of year when everyone is sick." He said with a nod. "Do I get to try some?"-
Covet: "Okay Dad. That sounds good. and Duh you can try some, but only if you help me get a bowl too." He said to Brad to which Kelsey laughed.
Alexithymiaa: "Alright, let's do this." He said, heading back over into the kitchen to get two additional bowls dished up for himself and Connor. He grabbed two spoons and carried them back to the table, setting one down in front of Connor and one in front of his chair. "I know it smells good, but don't forget you need to clean up when we're done."-
Covet: "I know Dad. We can do that after we get Momma to bed." He said immidiately throwing Brad under the bus in order to help him.
Alexithymiaa: "Mhm, I'll help, but I need to put away all the equipment too so you need to get started and I'll join you." He said quickly, knowing the way out of that one. He leaned in, scooping soup into his mouth with a hum. "Delicious."-
Covet: Kelsey smiled and happily ate her soup, and was also happy to be going to bed early, without having to worry about clean up. "If there's anything you can't get to, tonight, leave it out for me and I'll take care of it tomorrow." She offered through a yawn. // "Okay, I can get the little stuff, but you'll have to get the other pot of soup."
Covet: *Connor said digging into his soup with all the slurps.
Alexithymiaa: "We'll be fine. You just worry about sleeping and feeling better." Brad said, digging into his own soup to enjoy.-
Covet: "Okay." She said smiling as they all enjoyed their food prepared by a five year old. Cause that sounds safe.
