Yellow couldn't look at Letter, but after a few moments, she heard his laughter, thin and desperate. "...What?"

"I... I cannot believe my laziness is about to save the f-cking universe."

"What?"

"I'll explain as I work, but here's the short version: remember how you got knocked out like an idiot before the stand round started?"

Yellow winced. Sometimes she still heard the screaming in her dreams. "What about it?"

Letter grinned wickedly. "Guess which lazy dipshit forgot to clean up your stand, since you never figured out how to use it?"

Yellow's eyes went wide. "You mean..."

"That's right," Letter said as he reached into the back of Yellow's head, "We're bringing out the Warrior... kind of."

Leaning away as Warrior tried to chew on her nose, Yellow looked at the stand with no small amount of apprehension. “So… what exactly can he do?”

“Warrior? No idea,” Letter said as he worked. “He doesn’t matter. We want what’s inside him.”

“I… don’t follow.”

“It has to do with The Other,” he explained. “It’s a construct of the story, and it’s made itself immune to stuff we’ve pulled in from outside of the Scramble universe itself. You can’t hurt him, Danny can’t hurt him, fuckin’ Galactus can’t hurt him. I was hoping that forcing stands to work in the rules would bypass that, but I guess it didn’t. Once I realized that, all of our other plans were more or less stalling while I tried to figure out some way to get something original, something I’d created before losing most of my power. In this round, the wri- ...the guy running this timeline got to come up with wrestler stands. The wrestlers themselves are derivative, so they wouldn’t do anything, but their powers are original creations. If I can peel the Ultimate Warrior ‘skin’ off of this stand, we might have something that can actually save the shit out of us.”
