Noa's Vision

The woman on the bed sits up, her long dress fading from sight and into a shining golden breastplate. Her empty hand grasps a greatsword, and she narrows her eyes at the party. "Return that to me, now. It is not yours to take." Grimm instinctively held the book closer to him. Now that he was close, he could see the woman's fangs. "RETURN THE BOOK TO ME!"

Her eyes shone with a white light, and the party's vision dimmed.

Noa awoke to find an empty and barren land, filled with no colors but an endless grey. On a hill in front of him, littered with countless bodies and bones of all the races of the world, sat a sword placed deep into stone. The pummel of the hilt shone bright, and he heard a voice. "Knowledge begets knowledge, young chainer. I seek a wielder. At the end of all things, a weapon need someone to wield it, no matter how much greater the weapon is than the man. Prove yourself to me, Noa. Prove you may wield me, and I shall allow you to find me"

Noa shook his head and found himself back in the room, him and his party all bewildered. "So, that is it. You've come seeking MY treasure for your petty war. You won't be leaving with it. You won't be leaving with your lives." She raised her sword, and the battle began.
