  1. Hi everyone! It's your favourite pink dog person. For year I've been ask by my friends WHY DON'T YOU EVER STREAM YOURSELF DRAWING WHY WON'T YOU MAKE A VIDEO OF YOURSELF DRAWING, and that's because I'm really lazy and I don't plan when I'm going to draw? BUT today I'm full of energy and feeling very inspired, so I've finally decided to record myself throwing up on a canvas.

  3. Now, before I start, a little disclaimer:
  4. Although I've been drawing for a verym very long time, I do not claim to know everything. My knowledge is still very limited and I make a lot of mistakes. I am not teaching fundamentals here. My intention isn't to tell you how to draw, but to simply show you how I reach my end product. You are welcome to draw inspiration from my techniques, however!

  6. Alright, with that said, let's get started here. As most of you know, my program of choice is SAI.

  10. I'm gonna draw Akagi because he's one of the easiest characters for me to work with, and I'd like to avoid embarassing myself too much here heh.

  14. And now that the rough sketch is done, I make a refined sketch over it. Admittedly, this is probably a bad habit, because it adds a lot more work to the process, but it makes the line work so much simpler.

  18. Okay, I've come across this big line that I don't even want to tangle with. I know if I try to do it by hand, it's going to come out all wobbly and I'll have to redo it a thousand times. Luckily, I have a little trick to get around this. Those of you who love my lineart are either going to be really disappointed or really excited by this.
  19. Since I work on a large scale, some lines are incredibly difficult to get right. So I use the vector tool. Yes, this is cheating. However, there's still a few things you need to keep in mind when using it.
  20. 1. If your hand drawn lines are often wobbly, DO NOT use this.
  21. 2. If you're using a brush that doesn't seamlessly mingle with the vector lines, DO NOT use this.
  22. 3. Remember that line weight is extremely important.
  23. 4. Only use this for large lines. If you use it on smaller areas, it will look too clean and rounded. You want to try and retain that organic look throughout.
