This is the ultimate collection of the best Cydia apps/tweaks (aka ‘Jailbroken apps/tweaks’) that make your highly powerful iDevice even more powerful. Show your friends what your iPhone/iPod/iPad can do, and what their’s can’t. Please share this list if you like it!





1. 3DBoard:



Glasses-free 3D effect for the homescreen. The wallpaper moves in the background as you move the device, giving an illusion of 3D effect (motion-sensed by the built-in accelerometer).

2. Activator:

Your favourite companion. Play/Pause Music, Respring, Launch Applications, Lock/Unlock device, and do much more via gestures like ‘double click Home Button’, ‘Press and hold Volume button(s)’, ‘Pinch SpringBoard icons’, or develop custom gestures to do the things you want to, faster. You can also replace certain default gestures with your own (i.e. you might play/pause music by double-clicking the Home button, which would otherwise show the AppSwitcher).

3. AirPlaySpeaker:




Turn your iDevice into an AirPlay Speaker! A little buggy at the moment, but worth trying. Just connect your iDevice to the same Wi-Fi connection as your PC/Mac, and play some music. You’ll notice an AirPlay icon near the Genius icon in iTunes: click on that, and select your device. The music plays on your Device. Smart.
[iTunes will detect your iDevice as an Apple TV. Don't worry, it's normal, and it's tested to work. Just make sure you turn off Auto-Lock on your iDevice, otherwise the music will be a bit glitchy: test it for yourself!]

4. Animate:



Works only for iOS 4.2.1 users jailbroken using GreenPoison RC5. This app lets you choose from 200+ animated BootLogos available in Cydia (via BigBoss and ModMyi repositories), and use it as your BootLogo. Check out my favourites: iPhoneFade, CutTheRope and ShatteringApple.

5. AppSwitcher Brightness:



This cool tweak adds a Brightness Level in the AppSwitcher (aka ‘Multitasking Bar’) in the Volume Level area. Choose either to show only the Brightness Level, or both Brightness and Volume Levels. A handy tweak for those who don’t like SBSettings (coming up later on this list!), but want a faster way to access the Brightness Level Setting.

6. Attachment Saver:

Save attachments directly from Mail.app! “Mail.app as it was meant to be!”

7. CameraButtons:



Allows taking pictures and shooting videos via the Volume buttons. Shake the device to toggle between Camera Modes (Still/Video), Flash (On/Off/Auto), or HDR (On/Off). Options configurable in Settings.app

8. CameraWallpaper:



Just as the name suggests, this tweak allows you to use your camera as wallpaper. The best part is, you can use the camera to take pictures any time you like, while you are still on the homescreen. Just activate CameraWallpaper (via Activator gesture), and take photos: simple as that! They are automatically saved to your Camera Roll. A great way to make your android-loving friends more jealous of your iPhone!

9. Covert:


Private Browsing for Safari. Inspired by Google Chrome for UI, this tweak protects your privacy and hides stuff you dont want others to see.

10. Cydelete:


This tweak lets you delete Cydia Applications directly from the Homescreen (provided it has a Homescreen icon). Just hold the icons until they start wiggling, and you’ll see the ‘X’ icons on Applications installed via Cydia as well. No more visiting Cydia just to delete apps!

11. Dock:



Switch between running apps, or launch other apps, the Mac OSX way. It puts a scrolling dock on the right side of the screen, showing the running apps plus other user-defined shortcuts. You can even put folders as shortcuts. It’s accessible via gestures like “Press and Hold the Status Bar”, “Slide up from Right side of the Sceen”, and more. It comes with a 3 day trial, so that you can try it before you buy it.

12. FreeSync:



Ever wanted to play Angry Birds when your device was syncing with iTunes? or see if an important e-mail has arrived? or call a friend? This tweak lets you do everything you wanted to while your iPod/iPhone/iPad was syncing. Browse the web, send/receive texts, make/receive calls, delete apps, download apps- you name it. It restricts iPod, Cydia and AppStore.app while the device is syncing, just to make sure you don’t corrupt the music being synced.

13. iFile:



The best file browser for iPhone/iPod touch/iPad. Browse, delete, cut, copy, paste, add new folders, change permissions, rename, archive anything on your iDevice. Share your pictures or downloads with your friends via Bluetooth. There’s no limit to what you can do!

14. InfiniBoard:



Ever felt limited with the number of apps you can carry on your iDevice? Well, if you’ve filled up all 11 pages on your favourite gadget, then this is the way to go. Infiniboard allows you to vertically scroll all of your pages, so you can have thousands of apps, without ever worrying of ‘running out of pages’. Space is the limit! (um…I mean the disk space)

15. InfiniDock:



This tweak is similar to InfiniBoard, but this one allows you to have a scrolling dock (where your Phone, Mail, Safari and iPod apps are placed by default). By placing your most-used apps on the dock, you are sure to get things done faster. In case you didn’t realize it, you can have infinite number of applications on your device now!

16. InfiniFolders:



This is a handy tweak for those who like their SpringBoard look neat and clean. iOS 4.0 (up to 4.2.1) allows you to have 12 apps per folder, and that’s quite limiting for most people. What if I want to create a folder called “Games” and want to add 16 games inside it? InfiniFolders is the way to go. It allows you to have as many apps inside a folder, and scroll down vertically to view more. What else? You can also choose the color of the ScrollBar, and that makes it ever more cooler!

17. Lockdown Pro:



It’s the Grand-Dad of all the app locking tools. Lockdown Pro lets you lock apps and folders, set custom password for each app, or just set a master password for the locked apps. You can even lock the App’s icon placement, and/or it’s deletion. There’s another secret word beside your password, so you dont have to worry if you lose your password. Just reset the password with the help of the secret word you chose. Easy, simple, but highly useful!

18. MultiFl0w:



Exposé like app switcher for your iDevice. Quickly jump between running apps, or kill unwanted ones. No more pressing and holding icons in the AppSwitcher! MultiFl0w shows previews of up to 9 apps running in the background (doesn’t show apps which do not support multitasking, so it’s not messed up!). Fully supports Activator.

19. MultiIconMover:



Tired of dragging one app at a time to different pages? Well, then this is definitely the tweak for you. Just press and hold the icons on the SpringBoard to make them wiggle, and then tap those icons which you want to move (icons tapped are ‘tick-marked’). Then, go to the page you want the apps to be placed, and press the Home button once. Done! You just saved yourself a lot of time!

20. MultiMusicInfo:



The iPod Controls on the AppSwitcher of the iDevice shows only the name of the song that’s playing. This takes the iPod controls two steps further. First, it displays the Song Name, Artist and the Album right in the AppSwitcher (believe me, it looks wonderfully clean, and doesn’t make things look messy at all); and second, it displays the Album Art in place of the orange iPod icon (if some songs don’t have an album art, the iPod icon is displayed instead). A very neat tweak for those who enjoy music while browsing the web, or doing something else. Everything is just a double click of Home button (and a left-to-right-swipe) away!

21. MusicBar Extended:



This is a very handy WinterBoard extension that shows you the iPod Controls in a stylish way. Just press and hold the status bar (other gestures are configurable), and the controls slide down from the top, showing you the Song Name, Artist, Album, and the Album Art. It also lets you rate songs on-the-go, and make listening to music more fun!

22. No Bookmarks:



I used to hate the list of Bookmarks sliding up as soon as I launched Safari, until I found this awesome tweak. Now I can have my Bookmarks open up when I need them, not everytime I launch Safari. There’s no homescreen icon, nothing to configure, and it works like magic!

23. PhotoMail:



This tweak works seamlessly with the Mail.app, and lets you attach multiple photos from the Camera Roll to your e-mails. Just tap the small blue ‘+’ icon on the Action Menu (the ’Copy/Paste/Replace/Select’ menu), and add photos directly from your Camera Roll. Overall, an awesome extension to the default Mail.app

24. Pull to Refresh Mail:



This tweak lets you refresh your inbox(es) just by pulling it down (same as the ‘Pull to Refresh’ on Facebook or Twitter for iPhone). Refresh your inbox, with style.

25. Pull to Refresh Safari:



Same as the ‘Pull to Refresh Mail’ tweak, but with one more feature: ‘Pull to Stop’. Just pull down the page to refresh it, or to stop loading the page.

26. Safari Download Manager:



A must have. SDM works effortlessly with Safari.app, and makes downloading stuff a breeze. Just click on the download link, and you get a set of options sliding up from the bottom of the screen. Tap “Download”, and your download starts immediately: you can see your downloads by pressing the new icon beside the “Bookmarks” icon. Your download continues even if you entirely kill Safari.app, making it even more useful!

27. SBSettings:



This awesome tweak comes among the list of must-haves. SBSettings puts the most recently used settings in one place, so that you dont have to perform a series of swipes and taps just to reach the desired settings. Just slide your finger along the Status Bar (gestures are configurable, fully compatible with Activator), and you’ll see a shelf slide down, containing all those wonderful features. Change the display brightness, toggle your Wifi (On/Off), 3G (On/Off), Bluetooth (On/Off), SSH (On/Off), and add more options by yourself! Also restart/respring your device, or boot into safe mode, or even hide your applications! It’s a multi-in-one tweak, and a must-have!

28. ShowCase:



The iDevice Keyboard, just as it should have been. ShowCase shows the actual case on your keyboard, so you see a small “a” instead of “A” when you are typing without the caps.

29. Tab+:



A very handy tweak for those who love opening dozens of tabs at once, and feel limited by the ’8 tabs only’ rule of Safari.app on the iPhone. Tab+ is the perfect tweak to bypass the ’8-tabs’ mark, so that you can open as many tabs you want, on your favourite browser! The only downside is, it doesn’t show the number of tabs currently open after the 8th tab.

30. WinterBoard:



This is it. Another one on the list of the must-haves. WinterBoard, if you don’t know lets you apply themes to your iDevice, to make it look and feel the way you want. Change the icons on the homescreen, change the dialer background, change the keyboard wallpaper, change the status bar icons, and much more. Add homescreen wallpaper on iPhone 3G running iOS 4.2.1, or iPod 1G running iPhoneOS 3.1.3. With a large collection of themes available via cydia (and other sources), it’s a great way to turn your iDevice into myDevice: a unique one of your own!

It IS a theme for Winterboard...but I don't know the name and/or the author of this theme--found it on Google Images.
