background :
born in seoul, south korea to a family of performers, it wasn't surprising that jiyeon would become an idol singer herself. she moved to boston, usa as a child, moving back to korea in her late teens.
being trained in classical singing since birth, it's no surprise how she's an amazing pop vocalist. she had been dancing from a young age as well, and it led to her becoming really interested in urban dance. call it sexy dance if you want, but she prefers using the term jazz funk; choreographing had also been her passion. she was pursuing a career in dance before she decided to accept the offer.
unlike how people would think of her now, performing as a living and her now-suppressed alcohol addiction picked up after moving back to her birthplace, she's actually pretty close to her parents. they supported her through her journey growing up and gave her lots of love. sometimes, she feels sorry that she isn't able to care for them as much as they did for her. when she struggled with her emotions and lost control, they helped her.
