- [17:52] Rindou Sakamoto says, "Um.."
- [17:52] Rindou Sakamoto says, "..."
- [17:52] Calista Shimasu asks, "Hm?"
- [17:52] Rindou Sakamoto asks, "You don't use holy magic, do you?"
- [17:52] Calista Shimasu says, "Haha, no. I do not."
- [17:52] Calista Shimasu asks, "Do you?"
- [17:53] Rindou Sakamoto says, "I do."
- [17:53] Rindou Sakamoto says, "There's always something I've wondered about it, though."
- [17:54] Calista Shimasu asks, "Which is?"
- [17:54] Rindou Sakamoto says, "It's a feeling, however."
- [17:54] Rindou Sakamoto says, "I would have to find a great magi to compare."
- [17:55] Calista Shimasu asks, "What is it you wonder exactly?"
- [17:59] Rindou pondered for a few moments before she looked at Calista, trying to explain how she felt.
- "I have always heard that holy arts were calming and about healing and defending, but..." She paused, thinking of the best way to formulate her thoughts.
- ".. It feels like there's a lot more to do with it. I've never been about protecting myself in battle, but holy arts sort of... they feel right. Even if they're not my style."
- Complicated, wasn't it?
- (Rindou Sakamoto)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:04] She wielded neither light nor dark magic, and only knew of each what she needed to and possibly a bit more given her mother's skill with the Sunyata.
- "Holy magic is often empowered not by the desire to protect oneself but to protect others.. is this what you mean?"
- Her tail swishes softly behind her, a snap and a quick order given for a fruity beverage before she glances to the other,
- "Want something?"
- (Calista Shimasu)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:08] "Yes. It feels like the arts call to me in a way that makes me want to move in front of comrades and fight my way out of trouble. Defending others doesn't have to come from defensive spells."
- Thankfully enough Calista understood what she meant, even if it was not all that clear whatsoever. Perhaps with more time, training, and with another holy magi at her side to guide her she would find the answer she searched for, but for now? She ordered her drink.
- "Tea will do. Dark tea. And a squeeze of lemon."
- (Rindou Sakamoto)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:12] Dark furred ears flick once as she hears their drinks approaching, receiving her own only to take a small sip. The tastes of various tropical fruits roll across her tongue before she swallows.
- She taps the table for a moment before placing her beverage down,
- "Yes.. why defend them with a shield if you can stab what would harm them first hm?"
- She spreads two fingers, ether streaming to create a thin red hollow cylindrical shape that's placed in her drink. A straw, made of ruby.
- (Calista Shimasu)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:18] Rindou nodded, taking grasp of her drink that was neither as flashy nor as fruity as Calista's own. She brought it to her lips, allowing the taste of... 'tea' fill her mouth. It was a farcry from what she was used to taste. Reito's own brew was much, much better, too. Putting down the cup the young woman kept the conversation going.
- "Yeah..!" A bit too enthusiastic. ".. Yeah. Do you think there's a way to do something like that through holy magic?"
- (Rindou Sakamoto)
- --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- [18:19] Calista Shimasu says, "Holy magic alone..? No. Maybe paired with something else."
- [18:20] Calista Shimasu says, "Though your 'style' of protecting others is something I can respect."
- [18:20] Rindou Sakamoto says, "That's... what I thought at first."
- [18:21] Calista Shimasu says, "Break the sword when it strikes at you once, and it will rise against you no longer."
- [18:21] Rindou Sakamoto says, "But I've heard that there's a telescope in that lighthouse that can do miracles. Using holy magic as a blade might not be a farcry."
- [18:22] Calista Shimasu says, "That's cosmic magic, which I also have. And while you may create a 'blade' of holy, I doubt your magic alone could sustain its shape."
- [18:22] Calista Shimasu says, "Beyond it's intended use."
- [18:22] Calista Shimasu says, "Even this straw you see here? The moment I'm finished with it? It will fade back to the ether i crafted it from."
- [18:25] Calista Shimasu says, "Though the ruby in the center of my staff..? It's permanent, I made it so. I won't say it's impossible, I only share my doubts based on my own limited experience."
- [18:26] Rindou Sakamoto says, "..."
- [18:26] Rindou Sakamoto asks, "Magic is complicated, isn't it?"
- [18:26] Calista Shimasu asks, "If it weren't everyone would be doing it hm?"
- [18:32] Rindou nodded in agreement before she brought her cup of tea to her lips again, thinking over the discussion that had been made. A blade out of holy energy would not be sustained and breaking one's blade using the magic meant for that was much, much more appropriate, yet there was something the young woman could not get out of her mind.
- ... but to protect others.
- Maybe that was a good place to start.
- "Yeah. You're right."
- (Rindou Sakamoto)
