  1. Hello everyone, Foo
  2.
  3. Today I wanted to answer a question that absolutely no one has been asking, but hopefully should be pretty interesting - what is the most powerful max move possible?
  4.
  5. I'll be considering which Pokemon, item, ability and Max Move combine to deal the most damage!
  6.
  7. IF you enjoy this kind of content, please leave a like as it helps me determine what you want to see more of and helps the channel out too, but if not that's fine!
  8.
  9. Firstly, some housekeeping. There are 3 rules:
  10. 1. I am only considering damage dealt by the attack, not the secondary effect. Obviously in battles, the secondary effects of max moves are very important, but that is outside the scope of this experiment!
  11. 2. Pokemon must have the Sword and Shield icon - arbitrary, but it makes for very interesting results.
  12. 3. Any kind of set up is allowed to generate the most powerful max move possible
  13. 4. The punchbag- I mean target- for this experiment is Type Null holding the Ring Target. It has equal defence and special defence and it is hit neutrally by all max moves, included Max Phantasm!
  14.
  15. So without further ado, let's get on with the video!
  16.
  17. I first wanted to consider what item is best to hold. A lot of the most powerful items do not function during dynamax. So the main ones we are left with are: Type boosting items 1.2x, Life Orb 1.3x, Metronome -> 1.4x. So Metronome will be held by most of the Pokemon in the calculations
  18.
  19. THen I considered abilities. The most obviously strong ability that functions during Dynamax is Huge POwer, which can be Skill Swapped on to most Pokemon, so again this was used in most calculations, meaning physical attackers had a distinct advantage.
  20.
  21. Other considerations that are relevant to all pokemon are getting stats to +6, having a Helping Hand Boost, and having power boosted by a partner's ability e.g. Power Spot
  22.
  23. The only remaining considerations are the Pokemon, the Max move power and "other" boosts availab.e This other boosts category is where the clear winners start to emerge. 5 types of Max move are head and shoulders above the competition - types that have boosted power in their terrain - Grass, Psychic and Electric. Then types that get a power boost in weather - water and fire.
  24.
  25. So I will count down the 5 most powerful max moves possible:
  26.
  27. Psychic: 308-363 (508)
  28. Grass: 321-379 (530)
  29. Water: 339-399 (558)
  30. Fire: 382-450 (630)
  31. Electric: 734-863 Pikachu!
