  1. The essay on wonder is here https://zothyrianrevisionist.home.blog/2020/08/18/interpretative-indifferent-wonder-a-theory-on-humor/amp/
  2.
  3. And on idols.
  4.
  5. The first place I’d begin I think is in the book of genesis, The traditional commentators both Jewish and Christian, the church fathers especially, agreed that it is man’s reason/rational faculty, And by extension the identity/ego which is produced by but isn’t separate to the reason, We are told time and time again that the error is the lack of relationship between man and God, that the image of God in us is like a mirror to the actual divinity but ours is a dark and clouded mirror, which only through Christ can this mirror become clean/pure, From here there is a major concept through religion but especially Neoplatonism and Hinduism and Kabbalah, That god is ultimate but we can use tangible images, conceptions of god, which are false but allow us to have some form of link to God, So for example in Neoplatonism they believe god is the one but ordinary religion and literal idols can be used by acting as a symbol in the intellectual and symbolic world of that which is beyond communication, God in his ultimate non-human mode. Thus the ordinary idol becomes a symbol for all that man is not capable of knowing, And this in Kabbalah is called partzufim, faces, Which is the justification for Christians and even some modern Jews to use pagan deities, not as actual entities but as lenses/masks for God, for Brahman, God beyond comprehension, Now the next layer go this, is the biblical rejection of idols/images/the partial, as God being perfect and impartial cannot accept anything that is less than perfection, thus the rejection of all idols, And this then ties into the question of truth and art itself, I fundamentally agree with Husserl, Hegel and Descartes insofar as, the ultimate thing we can crasp on and the foundation of it, Is the truth of the truth phenomenal experience/existence of the transcendental I, which is to say not the identity but the thing which experience which is through reason reformulated as an idol of itself, the empirical ego, And from here; the entirety of consciousness and reality as perceived is nothing but the transcendental ego marrying with its other producing a dialectic, the result of which is the establishment of the empirical ego, the identity “I” And this is the archetype from which all art is produced, AS Truth is the unity wherein knowledge is the multiplicity, (kether-daat) and in this regard complete knowledge (the messiah) is identical to the truth, But we never grasp the totality of knowledge, thus we may only ever experience harmony/beauty, And this is what art is. An attempt to produce a vision of knowledge/truth through harmonization of finite data, Thus all art is this and the most essential and most comprehensive of these is the identity itself, called i, Now we unify the prior ideas of Christ and the image of God.
  6.
  7. Now the true idol is the ego which can only become a means to know god (as it is a reflection of Christ, who is logos which corresponds to the reason and thus ego in man) by contemplation and knowing of God, And to go even further, idol has various wordplay in it which makes it essential to me, Idol, I and ID, and the word “OL” OL in enochian means “I” and via gematria it values 50, which is the same as the letter nun which is the death tarot card but also the tarot value of kether, So to summarize, this world IDOL, It is all that the identity is, it is the holy church, it is the conception of God, it is all knowledge, all art, all deities of all religions, all separation from God, all distance from God, the lack of God, the emptiness of not having God, the emptiness of nature, all melancholy, all sin, all imperfections and all perfections, the reason itself and the sole thing ever perceived, All of these things are conjoint under the word “idol” All of these things and more bubble in my head when I use the word idol in a poem.
  8.
  9. I will give you a break down of the first poem in the collection I wrote as it is the context all of my poems are written in.
  10.
  11. >I sing not of the earthen eye
  12.
  13. A simple statement; this poem has nothing to do (and by extension none of the poems in the collection) with things seen externally, nor the normative identity, for
  14.
  15.
  16. >Made resplendent by humanly
  17.
  18. The external glories are being rejected as the point of fixation, so what is being focused on?
  19.
  20. >Acquired riches lacking I,
  21.
  22.
  23. Rather the I is the source of the wealth, the I as the image of God, being the gateway through knowledge and self contemplation to theosis.
  24.
  25.
  26. >Songs from an ancient wrinkled sea
  27.
  28. The ancient wrinkled sea is binah, binah is perception/representation in the sephirothic schema and is also the temporal, thus represented by Kronos and all gods of time and decay and oldness, binah and daat(knowledge) are Nondual and the image of this is the virgin holding the babe, thus the origin of these poems are in representation of the divine things before perception, manifested through
  29.
  30. >Engraved with sigil-vowels wrought
  31. >Writhing through the essence of me,
  32.
  33. Which is to say, their meaning, their rational (their sigil-symbolic existence) is created from being weaved together by the ego which births it, forms it and formulates it in existence in rationality.
  34.
  35.
  36. >These songs I sing of sun and naught
  37.
  38. The name of the spiritual daimon (such as Socrates had) which is to say, the spiritual genius, which is to say, the spiritual existence wherein the soul of man (his ego) is unified with his spirit (which is Nondual with the knowledge of heaven), this is the HGA of thelema and ishvara of tantra, the name of my Daimon is AMNLABAChZVMNA, which has various symbolic and gematric and other such formulae, the easiest of these is the gematria value 237, 237 is in Hebrew “ain”(nothingness, a name of God as incomprehensible) when spelt in full, likewise the Hebrew word for “I” is ANI, which when spelt in full is 237, which can then be divided into 200(the character of which in Hebrew is resh, the head, which rules over
  39.
  40. reason.( and this is seen as identical to the sun symbolically (and thus to tiphereth and the earlier mentioned art-knowledge-harmony complex) and 37 is yechidah, the highest portion of the self which is identical to the soul of God in kabbalistic belief, and this is a name also for the jewel previously discussed the Sun of naught, for it reconciles the totality (as represented by the sun) as one rationally with the nothingness, thus Sun and naught, the ego is the sole content of all of these poems.
  41.
  42. >But one and not the many grey
  43.
  44. One=a name of kether/the highest Neoplatonic point, and this is again wordplay being used with not, as one and not refers to the identification of the Sun (as tiphereth=the Sun, daat=knowledge, and kether=the one, the first, truth, and 0, ain which is prior to the first but is identical through tzimtzum, which is to say, the causal flow from God before creation and the perpetual Will of god and presence of god through causation, but also a denial, as the thing being sung of is 237, which is via gematria ROYGBIV, the rainbow, which is to say, the vibrancy of all things, which is again, the identification of all phenomena as springing from and being the rebirth of the ego,
  45.
  46. >Beguiled illusions born from thought,
  47.
  48. Illusions=maya=binah, thought=chokmah, the father and mother, conscious and representation, thus this is the denial that creation is simply perception and thought as seen in Buddhist and Hindu thought, but rather the vibrancy of creation is the vibrancy of one’s own ego which is the thing revealed.
  49.
  50.
  51. >Shimmers molten forms casting stray
  52.
  53. The forms in question are platonic forms, they shimmer because through these practices, conceptions of things beyond normative apprehension of the forms is possible, thus
  54.
  55. >Unknown and eldritch living lights
  56.
  57. Which is to say, the light of the aspects of deity otherwise denied or unknown to man are slowly revealed through this ego-idolic-art.
  58.
  59. >Into an infinite array
  60.
  61. The grasping of the infinitude of God’s aspects into rational forms, which is the ultimate goal.
  62.
  63. >And with each light I see I write
  64.
  65. With each apprehension I ensoul it in the form of
  66.
  67. >Aleph in the soul of my soul
  68.
  69. Aleph is the character in Hebrew which is kether, it is breath itself, it is also the beginning of the alphabet, thus it is the most essential and simplistic rational form, thus each aspect of God is entered into nature, and then
  70.
  71. >Adorned with omegas of night,
  72.
  73. The other idea, omega, the end, wherein night is in this context the complexity, the night of pan, thus this stanza is saying each aspect is understood in the soul fully rationally, this works on a Hebrew allegory based on wordplay that ink and the soul are identical.
  74.
  75. >Look upon this the inmost scroll
  76.
  77. The inmost scroll is the heart/soul
  78.
  79. >Where writ are the words of idols
  80.
  81. The words(logos, divine aspects/law) of idols(partzufim, the vibrancy of nature through different masks as simply expressions of I) which is to say, the glory of nature
  82.
  83. >Bound eternally to extol,
  84.
  85. Made to be worshipful, being directed and unified towards a singular point, that singular point being
  86.
  87.
  88. >I.
  89.
  90. Which is the ultimate thing being revealed and used.
  91.
  92. The poem has 8 syllables per line, 8 is the number of both the Sun and mercury(the logical faculty within the reason.) each stanza has 24 syllables (24 hours.) there are 8 stanzas in the poem, as a whole there are 22 lines, 22 is the amount of Hebrew letters, there are precisely 169 syllables, 169 is symbolic of the ultimate unity in Kabbalah, as 13 is Achad(unity) and Ahevah(love) which can be conjoint as 26(YHVH, jehovah) or dissolved into 0(ain) or multiplied into 169 which again has various relevant correspondences.
  93.
  94.
  95. So with that in mind, here is the poem.
  96.
  97. Fantasm of crystal illume
  98. The spectral delusions of my
  99. Paradisal mental gloom,
  100.
  101. I sing not of the earthen eye
  102. Made resplendent by humanly
  103. Acquired riches lacking I,
  104.
  105. Songs from an ancient wrinkled sea
  106. Engraved with sigil-vowels wrought
  107. Writhing through the essence of me,
  108.
  109. These songs I sing of sun and naught
  110. But one and not the many grey
  111. Beguiled illusions born from thought,
  112.
  113. Shimmers molten forms casting stray
  114. Unknown and eldritch living lights
  115. Into an infinite array,
  116.
  117. And with each light I see I write
  118. Aleph in the soul of my soul
  119. Adorned with omegas of night,
  120.
  121. Look upon this the inmost scroll
  122. Where writ are the words of idols
  123. Bound eternally to extol,
  124.
  125. I.
