  1. As soon as Rob told his friend Mike that he had the Monster e-mail, he had been dragged off to the bar and sat at the table while Mike "Remind me why we are here?" Rob asked his friend as they waited at the bar counter for their drinks.
  2.
  3. "You're going to use the email to meet one of those weird creature women right?" Mike said as he flicked through his phone. "What kind of friend would I be, if I wasn't looking out for you during your traversal into the unknown?" Mike started laughing
  4.
  5. "You make it sound like I haven't been on a date before." Rob frown as he fished for his phone in his pocket. "I've been perfectly fine going out with women."
  6.
  7. "I would agree if you didn't choose complete nutcases to go out with. Remember the restaurant incident? Yeah I know it's been a while since then but considering the damage that she did none of us are willing to let you live that down." He grinned as Rob grumbled to himself. "Then there was that girl that liked pears a bit too much, or that "modern artist" that last I heard was doing something with chains and a tank of yoghurt sauce... what?"
  8.
  9. Rob was now glaring his friend until he sighed and slumped in his seat. "Do I have to be reminded of my failures?"
  10.
  11. "Hey, you brought it up, not me I'm just saying that your luck with getting a woman is fine, but its the woman you get that's usually the problem, so I figured if you were doing this then I'd be able to help out if the girl is an instant red flag," Mike said.
  12.
  13. "You just want to see if this becomes another story to tell the guys later." Rob accused.
  14.
  15. Mike's laugh didn't help anything. "No! no, I would never do that.. so, you gonna push the button or what?" He asked. Rob looked down at his phone in silence for a moment before he nodded to himself.
  16.
  17. "... might as well push it while I'm sober," he said as he opened up his e-mail. Hoping that his luck would work out for once, he pushed the button.
  18.
  19. *BUNYIP*
  20.
  21. "...Bunyip? The hell is a Bunyip?" That didn't sound like a monster he'd heard of, he must have overlooked it when he read the encyclopedia (He had to make sure he knew what he was dealing with).
  22.
  23. "I was some Aussie swamp monster that eats animals and kids if they get too close if I remembering right. can't remember what the thing looks like though, been a while since I've seen any of those cryptid shows" Mike mused as the bartender gave him his glass.
  24.
  25. Rob groaned "Dammit, I knew this was a bad idea. I couldn't get something simple like a werewolf or one of those succubus ladies, nope! instead, I get the freaky monster from the murder animal country." He then slumped onto the counter.
  26.
  27. Mike tried to reassure him. "Hey... look at the bright side, at least she won't eat you, right? as far as we know there hasn't been any issues with monsters showing up... except for that thing with the celeb and those dog ladies..."
  28.
  29. "The hellhounds?" Rob remembered them well, having seen a recording of the event. "Even if I have no real issue with forward women, three of those monsters were too much for my liking. No thanks. Besides, we don't even know what the deal is with the one I've got. for all, we know she could be sort of nightmarish tentacle freak."
  30.
  31. "Or some sort of fluffy-haired, long-eared creature?" Mike suggested.
  32.
  33. "Did you just look it up?" Rob asked still in his slump.
  34.
  35. "No, but if whoever is looking at you through the window is anything to go by..." Rob jerked up and looked behind him our of the bar's window, and flinched almost at the same time the... monster staring at him from outside did. Her eyes were covered by an ornate mask and her orange-tinted white hair was wild and spiky. Sadly thas all he got to see of her as his sudden turn around must have spooked her as she ducked out of view.
  36.
  37. Rob shot up from his seat. "Do you think it was her?" He asked.
  38.
  39. All Mike could do was shrug. "'Hell if I know, man. Could have just been some other shy monster."
  40.
  41. "I'm gonna go check, hold on to my drink," Rob said as he rushed out of the bar. thinking she couldn't have gone far, he looked around for any trace of what he saw but came up short even after looking around the corners of the bar. sighing to himself. All he could do was go back inside.
  42.
  43. "So... didn't find anything?" Mike asked as he haded rob his drink.
  44.
  45. Rob took a swig of his glass before sitting back in his seat. "Nothing, she must be fast as hell or good at hiding you'd think a large fluffy thing like that would be easier to spot, though the better question is where did she go?"
  46.
  47. "Maybe if we stay here she'll pop back up to watch you through the window again," Mike suggested. "Hell, she might gather the courage to come inside."
  48.
  49. Rob thought to himself for a moment and then sighed. "Better plan then anything I've got, 'you buyinp the next round or am I?"
  50.
  51. ~X~ (a few hours later)
  52.
  53. The two friends spend the afternoon drinking lightly and keeping an eye on the Bar's window, trying to get a glimpse of the monster if she returned. They didn't have any luck so eventually, they decided to call it quits. Leaving the bar, Rob agreed to go drinking with Mike another day and started on his way home.
  54.
  55. The afternoon was quiet, and fewer people were mingling about than usual. It made walking through the local park to get home all the more peaceful. Alone with his thoughts, Rob wondered about the roulette and the monster that turned up at the bar that might have been the bunyip the e-mail had given him, why had she ran away? He hadn't heard of any monster running away in this "game" before, quite the opposite in fact with some of the stories he had heard around.
  56.
  57. He was so deep in his thoughts that he almost didn't notice that he was passing the park lake. were it not for the splash he heard breaking his train of thoughts. Stopping in his tracks, he looked over the lake to see what could have made such a noise but was met with silence. He turned away from the lake and was about to carry on when he heard another splash, this time louder.
  58.
  59. Rob's head immediately jerked to the lake and once again saw that could have made such a noise but was still met with nothing. It was then that he realised that the lakeside had become too quiet; there was nobody around and he couldn't hear any birds. Deciding it was best not to overthink things before he got too paranoid, he decided to hurry on his way home, or at least get out of the park faster.
  60.
  61. He was almost out of the lake when he heard one more splash. He turned to see what had made the noise only as something collided into him and sending him off the path and into the trees on the other side. It all happened so fast that he had no time to react when something clamped onto him by the legs and dragged him into the bushes, with Rob too far out of it to struggle.
  62.
  63. When he finally came out of his daze, he noticed that he had been pulled into the trees, but how far he couldn't tell. he also noticed that the dragging had stopped. He rolled over to prop himself up on a knee and looked straight into the face of the same masked monster woman he saw at the bar.
  64.
  65. The sudden closeness mad rob yelp as he stumbled to his feet and ended up tripping backwards onto a tree. he would have probably fallen forward again if it weren't for two large paws gripping his shoulders and holding him up.
  66.
  67. Rob was once more face to face with the bunyip. He had no idea what to say as the monster just seemed to stay still, looking him over if the slight tilts of her head were anything to go by. before long. Before he could as what she is doing, he felt something like cloth wrap around his legs. Slowly, he glanced down to see what was going on and fling as he saw some long furry tail of some sort wrap itself around him that turned out was her lower body. Despite the situation Rob felt confusion, what sort of mystery box monster was she? and the warm sensation of being wrapped didn't help as didn't she just come out of the lake?
  68.
  69. There was no confusion was on what she had been doing though, as the monster has started to feel him up with curiosity. the more she did, the more healthy her breathing got and the tighter she wrapped herself around him. It was pretty clear where this was going, But rob had no intention of doing anything of the sort in the local park, too many things could go wrong in his mind. So with that in mind, he tried to stop her before they got too far.
  70.
  71. "H-hey." he stuttered out, he cursed himself for sounding that way so he put more force into it. "Hey!" Like pressing pause on tape, the movement and feeling stopped, and the bunyip was looking him in the eye (or he thought she was, can't tell with that kind of mask.) good, he got her attention... now what? "Uh... hi, I think this is going a bit to fast. You know who I am, right."
  72.
  73. The monster was silent nodding "You are... Robert Jones." Her voice was soft, and she didn't seem to be one for talking much. some movement returned to her tail, rubbing along his legs, Rob would be lying if he said it wasn't pleasant-no! gotta focus.
  74.
  75. "How about we move this to my house, maybe get to know each over instead of... out here." He tried to reason with her.
  76.
  77. "I... like out here. here feels... like home." The bunyip said as she seemed to be getting back into her groove of feeling him up and rob was feeling a paw go under his shirt. "It smells the same, almost looks the same..."
  78.
  79. Rob understood the park and lake must feel a bit like wherever she must have lived in before coming to London. Still, this was a problem. "I think we should get to know each over before we do this."
  80.
  81. "But... we are getting to know each of others. "The bunyip said, not stopping in her action and pulling off Rob's jacket. Rob, wary of the big claws she was sporting, let it get pulled off with no struggle. "What's wrong with getting to know each other here?" her tone was getting breathless. and her movements were getting more frantic.
  82.
  83. Rob was starting to panic, he was running out of ideas. "T-this may look like your home, there are a lot more people here, People could see us!"
  84.
  85. The monster froze and looked up from her attempts to tug Rob's shirt upward. "People?" She repeated.
  86.
  87. "Yes people, somebody could hear us out here and come to see what we're doing!" Rob tried to reason with her. "It's the middle of the afternoon, there's bound to be somebody about."
  88.
  89. It was like a switch went off in her mind, for as soon as his words sunk in, the bunyip started to franticly look around as if something might jump out at her any moment it was like the aggressive beast had been replaced by the timidest animal. "N-no! no people! don't want that, no people! No people!" She said as she pulled Rob into her chest, shivering at the thought.
  90.
  91. It took some effort for Rob to not think about how comfortable he felt in the embrace of the monster and shifted his head from between her breasts so he could talk. "It's not that bad... we could just get to my house and we could continue there." He said shuffling himself, she was just so darn comfy and he almost didn't want to stop.
  92.
  93. There was a pause before the Bunyip asked timidly. "And there will... be no people?"
  94.
  95. "Nope, no people, and just you and me," Rob said. praying she would listen to him, and inwardly cheered when he fell her coils loosen. looking around for his jacket he picked it up as the monster still looked paranoid of her surrounding.
  96.
  97. "We.. should get going," she said.
  98.
  99. "Just follow me, if I know my way out of these trees right, the park path isn't far from here and I can get us to my house... by the way, I never did get your name," Rob said as he looked around.
  100.
  101. "...Katelyn"
  102.
  103. ~X~ (later, at Rob house)
  104.
  105. Rob was pretty sure he had never met a person, human or not, as shy as Katelyn was showing herself. She would jump and flinch at every vehicle that drove by and try to hide whenever people looked her way, which for a woman significantly larger than Rob made an awkward sight to look at. it was clear that she didn't get out from home much, hell, it must have taken a lot to watch him from the bar window like how he and Mike first saw her.
  106.
  107. But now they were finally inside and Rob quickly ushered the bunyip inside before shutting the door behind him. "Welcome to my home, I guess..." he said awkwardly chuckling as he put his jacket away.
  108.
  109. "It's... silent.," Katelyn said as she looked around the corridor.
  110.
  111. "Yeah, I thought it would be nice for you, won't hear anybody unless I open a window. come on, I'll find something for us to ea-" He had made it to the living room before he felt Katelyn's paws on his shoulders. "Katelyn?"
  112.
  113. "We... are alone," Katelyn said as she started to rub Rob's shoulders. "Just you and me. No people."
  114.
  115. Rob noticed she had started coil herself around him. "We are... " he said carefully.
  116.
  117. "You said... we could continue when we got to your home... now there's just you and me... and I want to continue." It amazed Rob just how much confidence had returned to her as soon as she got away from the public as she started to coil herself around him again.
  118.
  119. "I did say that, didn't I?" Rob knew he was more than out of excuses to delay her.
  120.
  121. "Just you and me, you and me..." the bunyip repeated her mantra as he pulled Rob's shirt off and went for his belt "Mine...Mine!" All reason had left the monster as she went after what she sought, her breathing became lustful and she couldn't stop herself sniffing licking him like a wild animal. Rob being unable to move, decided the best thing to do was to go with it.
  122.
  123. As aggressive as she was being, he was more lost in the sensation of her body against his, so warm and nice, it was like getting rolled up in luxury hotel bedsheets.
  124.
  125. Hotel bedsheets that had just torn his belt to shreds but hotel bedsheets none the less.
  126.
  127. ~X~ (A few days later)
  128.
  129. Rob had mike over for drinks and to introduce him to his new... girlfriend? he wasn't too sure on that end. With the utter cowardice the bunyip had shown, he thought it would be best to slowly introduce friends, so she would at least be comfortable. Still, with the death grip that Katelyn had on his arm, he was sure it was going to be a slow process.
  130.
  131. She also outright refused to take her mask off for anyone but him, something he more then let slide as he found it endearing.
  132.
  133. "The internet can screw itself sometimes, you know that?" Mike said. "I spent some time trying to took up what a bunyip looks like and the designs are all over the place seriously, is like the one cryptid no one can agree on what they look like."
  134.
  135. "Well at the very least, Katelyn here looks like how the encyclopedia depicted her kind," Rob said as the bunyip nuzzled herself into his neck and hummed in content.
  136.
  137. "I guess, still, I never thought I see some someone as... umm... what's the right word, withdrawn?" Mike said scratching the back of his head.
  138.
  139. "Not fond... of people, Rob is... different, love Rob, not people," Katelyn spoke.
  140.
  141. There was a pause before Mike grinned at Rob "She thinks you're not people."
  142.
  143. "Shut up." Rob groaned before they shared a laugh.
  144.
  145. "Anywho, She must be a change of pace, what with all those forward women you've dated before, must be fun with a shy girl like this." Rob took one look at Mike then looked at Katelyn before he started laughing. "What? what did I say?"
  146.
  147. "Trust me when I say this mike when Katelyn wants something, there isn't anything shy about when she goes for it," Rob said.
  148.
  149. As if to support him, Katelyn tail wrapped around his legs. "Rob is different. Rob is mine." She said with conviction.
  150.
  151. Mike looked between the Bunyip and the knowing grin on robs face before signing. "I guess normal women will never be a thing with you, man."
  152.
  153. Rob just laughed. "I'll drink to that."
