  3. KERBO:
  4. Formal name: Kerbo sapiens.
  5. Informal name: Kerbal or Kerbo.
  6. Description: A sapient species native to the badlands of Kerbin, though they have spread far and wide due to an adaptation to value curioisity and exploration. They are arguably the most intelligent animals on their planet, what with the cities and space programs and whatnot. Before their civilization, they were hunter-gatherers in a world who would hunt or gather them if given the chance. Their intelligence and skill, combined with their finely dextrous hands, allow them to construct tools and structures to gain them the upper... hand. They were not as successful at hunting as other, larger relatives, but their persistence made up for it.
  7. Size: 0.8m height.
  8. Mass: 70 kg
  9.
  10. SLYNX:
  11. Formal name: Felodatra elongarus
  12. Informal name: Slynx or Elongated Muskcat
  13. Description: A long carnivorous, vaguely rodent-like animal which can either slither or crawl slowly. Its long white mane protects its body from the harsh sun of its equatorial badlands habitat while keeping it warm when it migrates to higher latitudes to breed. It is hypothesiszed that the mane originated as a way to keep the Slynx warm during a kerbolar winter--periods of decreased kerbolar luminosity.
  14. Size: 2.5m long.
  15. Mass: 200 kg
  16.
  17. THE ONE ON THE SIDE THAT I FORGOT TO NAME:
  18. Formal name: Kormilla sentiens
  19. Informal name: Kormilla
  20. Description: An intelligent species related to Kerbo that thrives in the wetlands of the middle latitudes. Their intelligence does not match that of an adult Kerbal, but they have been shown to be as smart as 6 year old Kerbals, giving them the legal status of personhood in many jurisdictions. They can not speak any Kerbal language except very basically, but they do have a complicated set of clicks and growls which they use alongside sign language to communicate with each other and with Kormilologists. Kormillas possess a strange adaptation that seems to have split off from Kerbo evolution during their transition from quadrupedal to bipedal. Their upper arms have turned into very strong legs capable of a higher running speed useful for chasing and pursuing prey, while their lower legs have turned into highly precise graspers which are on par with Kerbo hands.
  21. Size: 1 m high.
  22. Mass: 180 kg
  23.
  24. KRAKERB:
  25. Formal name: Cephalopoda kerphibiens
  26. Informal name: Krakerb or Beach Kraken
  27. Description: A fairly intelligent species of partially amphibious Kraken with large, kerbal-like brains. The presence of a cylindrical head and large, centrally placed eyes, suggests that this species shares a common ancestor with Kerbalkind and indeed many land animals. Despite being a cephalopod, they posses rudimentary cartilgedge-based skulls.
  28. Size: 0.23 m high.
  29. Mass: 10 kg
  30.
  31. KERBIT:
  32. Formal name: Kerbo bit *or* Simuli bit
  33. Informal name: Kerbit, Troggle.
  34. Description: Another recent kerbal relative native to the dwindling forests, and the closest relative to Kerbalkind still alive. It is debated whether or not the Kerbit belongs to the same genus as Kerbals or not. Their rounder, smaller head results in a more hardy, armored skull and stronger jaw, at the cost of brain power. Their intelligence is comparable to 3 year olds at best, but this is enough that many consider them non-kerbal persons. Their long arms are an adaptation suited to climbing and swinging around between trees, and they also use their arms to walk. They were considered for early Kerbal Space Program test flights as a substitute for Kerbals, but the astronauts were more than willing to put their own lives on the line for science. Well. Two of them were at least. ^(Kerbits are based upon a developer's plan I heard about where you'd have kerbal chimps to launch into space before the kerbals)
  35. Size: 0.4 m high.
  36. Mass: 30 kg.
  37.
  38. CARNIR:
  39. Formal name: Felodatra carnis
  40. Informal name: Carnir
  41. Description: A small carnivorous hunter species which can be found all around Kerbin. Its unique triangular hair spikes aid in hearing as acoustic whiskers. They domesticated Kerbals as they were beginning to develop agriculture by bringing in small tidbits and treats--really killing pests--so that they would let the Carnir have their shelter and protection and even more food later. A unique adaptation of the Carnir's family of organisms is their ability to asexually reproduce near the end of their life. Female Carnirs will lay self-fertilized eggs containing genetic near-duplicates of themselves, usually around ten or so. As a result, there is a common phrase: "Carnirs have nine lives."
  42. Size: 0.2 m tall
  43. Mass: ~5kg
  44.
  45. DEEP SEA KRAKEN:
  46. Formal name: Cephalopoda abyssia
  47. Informal name: Deep Sea Kraken
  48. Description: A small cephalopod that lives in deep aquatic environments. They are far less related to Kerbals than Krakerbs are, as hinted at by their squishy head, extra limbs, and crossed yellow eyes. They never die of old age and never stop growing until they are killed, meaning that occasionally it is possible to find some truly *massive* Krakens. When small, they are orange-red in color, and become yellow and then green as they get larger.
  49. Size: variable
  50. Mass: variable
  51.
  52. Equus:
  53. Formal name: Equus kerballus
  54. Informal name: Equus
  55. Description: A four-legged species which grazes on the grass in the grasslands. They are some of the fastest runners, and they were domesticated by Kerbals for use as farm workers and transportation.
  56. Size: 2.5 m long.
  57. Mass: 200 kg.

  59. SOME MORE ANIMALS:
  60.
  61. WARDOG: Image: https://i.imgur.com/BBqedzw.jpg
  62. Formal name: Denteserpens militus
  63. Informal name: Wardog, Toothworm.
  64. Description: A large four-legged, carnivorous species covered in veins, and with a highly unusual body shape with the large, dagger-like teeth arranged radially in the mouth on the bottom of its "head." In nature, the wardog is a highly intelligent pack animal. It was domesticated for a host of purposes including standing watch, aiding in hunting, and working on farms and construction, but their aggressive nature meant that by far their most successful application was warfare. Wardogs were intense predators of Kerbos in the wild, given their ability to swallow a Kerbal whole. Despite their aggression, they are *intensely* loyal, and domesticated Wardogs are far less angry, aggressive, predatory, and huge as their wild counterparts.

  66. PUPPY FROG: Image: https://i.imgur.com/GH0UsYL.png
  67. Formal name:
  68. Description: Puppy Frogs are a terrific example of convergent evolution. While most macroscopic land life on Kerbin evolved from bony cephalopods, there is another, less prolific clade of land life evolving from four-finned ocean fish. Despite incredibly different initial conditions, both species ended up with largely the same layout--generally bipedal or quadrupedal, and similiar skeleton shapes. Puppy frogs in particular are
