  1. So I've been mulling ideas over in my head for roleplay events to create for the server to try to make things more interesting.
  2.
  3. I've come up with an idea that I think could really make things interesting, and it would require a minimal investment of time, assisted by multiple administrators throughout the process.
  4.
  5. This is an RP situation that would be built up over a period of a month or so, leading to a "finale" of sorts, and it would happen in stages, allowing ample time for developers (I'd be willing to help) to make minor adjustments to the server to continue the event.
  6.
  7. So, here's my plan:
  8.
  9. Stage 1:
  10.
  11. First, this sound effect is randomly played by the admins from time to time:
  12.
  13. https://signalresearch.org/mystery/mystery_signal.mp3
  14.
  15. This audio would be accompanied by a message: "A strange signal overcomes every radio and television in San Andreas..."
  16. This audio would also be accompanied by the weather suddenly changing to a storm, but only while the sound is playing (so like a minute and a half). The admins would give no explanation for its purpose, and it would happen ideally multiple times a day so everyone gets a chance to see it.
  17.
  18. Stage 2:
  19.
  20. We pick a random spot in Los Santos, and either use an empty parking lot, or for an even more impressive effect, completely disappear a building. Something obvious that everybody can normally see. Meanwhile, we permanently add a bunch of these green orbs floating in the air in the empty spot, and have the same mystery sound playing constantly from an invisible point (similar to a boombox, just no visible boombox). After a day or two, the police puts a barricade around it. After a few more days, SANG declares the rather small area a red zone, and annexes the location, putting a larger fence around it.

  23.
  24. It is also at this point that SANG would increase their advertising for hiring more recruits. Almost to a point of sounding desparate. Make it sound like something is obviously going on, without explaining what it is.
  25.
  26. Admins will continue to play sound effects, SAN and my radio station will report on the strange phenomenon, spreading rumors about what could be happening.
  27.
  28. Stage 3:
  29.
  30. This is where things get a little bit more interesting. We would have to create some sort of alien "pod" of some kind that just hovers in place above the location. The sound gets louder and can be heard from farther away. We could possibly add more sounds and more random weather effects, and perhaps random lights that turn on and off at night. Basically something to grab more attention.
  31.
  32. Possible pod: https://dev.prineside.com/gtasa_samp...del/18846-UFO/
  33.
  34. SANG blocks off multiple city blocks around the location where this phenomenon is occuring, but ideally, still leaves areas where players can see it even from a distance. The government makes random announcements that don't make any sense, such as "Don't look at the moon between the hours of 10PM and 3AM, for your safety." And then SANG immediately follows up with "You are now ordered to go outside and look at the moon at all times." More sound effects will play.
  35.
  36. Phase 4:
  37.
  38. Hopefully, by now, SANG has a somewhat decent number of recruits. In the background, we would ideally prepare this phase to suddenly have fires all around Los Santos on buildings, trees, etc, but all activated by a single admin or event command. Now that we are on 0.3dl, we would import an alien skin. Admins would start an event, and whoever joins would be separated into Aliens and SANG, placed around Los Santos. Whoever doesn't join would just be innocent civilians. Basically at this point it would become a team DM match, but it would all be IC. This stage could be repeated numerous times, to imply different waves of aliens attacking.
  39.
  40. At the end of the phase, all the damage would be cleared, the alien ship would be removed (or relocated to SANG's base) and the alien threat would be declared destroyed.
  41.
  42.
  43. Let me know what you think. I'm more than willing to explain more, script some of it, or do whatever could be necessary to help this type of event take place, if you're interested. Each phase could be activated every week or two, to give plenty of space for everyone to enjoy each phase and to give time for us all to prepare the scenery. I can create sound effects, join SAN to make reports, borrow temporary (and very specific) admin commands, whatever you'd like to facilitate the concept. I could probably even create a filterscript for each phase for easy removal later.
