PERSONALITY | Marco is very laid back and calm. He is the peacemaker among the contestants and tries to help everyone get along and work together. However, that doesn't mean he isn't competitive. He is very determined and has a great thirst to prove himself. He is a deep thinker, and he feels struggles are only there to make you stronger. Sometimes he does feel like he could falter under the pressure, as the expectations for him on New Generation Season 2 are pretty high (since he is the youngest brother of LACY's Alessia). However, his thirst to prove himself and succeed is what drives him. He also is a bit of a romantic, and describes love as another driving force of his. Sometimes Marco is easily frustrated or anxious (he has a slight anxiety disorder), and he lets it out into his music (as demonstrated in parts of his opening performance). He really loves his family and wants to make them, especially Alessia, proud. However, he wants to be known as more than just "Alessia's little brother" and wants to prove himself through his own talents and not really need to use his family background to help him win/gain attention. Marco Can be funny, and is the king of hilarious/meme-worthy expressions.

BACKGROUND | Marco Russo Moon, or Moon Sunghyun, was born on 18 February 1999 in London, Ontario, Canada. He was the youngest of three children born to a Korean-Canadian father and an Italian-Canadian mother. He has two older siblings: sister Alessia who competed on the first season of New Generation and became a member of LACY and brother Leonardo "Leo" who is back in Canada studying pharmacy. Marco originally wasn't super into music. He wanted to be an author and write books. Then, when he was 5 years old, he saw Alessia (who was 8 at the time) perform in "The Little Mermaid". Marco loved it, and wanted to sing too. He took singing lessons, but he found he wasn't quite as polished singing-wise as his sister (his singing wasn't bad though). Then, when he was 8, he read a poem he wrote for his class, but in a more rhythmical style. His teacher said "Marco I'm impressed with your rapping." Marco didn't really know what rapping was at the time, but his music teacher told him that rapping was basically talking with a beat to it, and many rappers wrote their own lyrics. Marco became interested in it, and began properly learning how to rap. When he was 11, his sister Alessia got cast by S.M. Entertainment. Marco originally didn't want to join his sister in the company and wanted to pursue a career in North America, however he soon learnt from his own research and from his brother Leo that the North American rap industry was so vicious, especially for rappers as young as Marco. When he was 13, he went to visit Alessia in Korea, and she showed him around. Marco was entranced and decided to try and become an idol instead. At age 14.5, he auditioned for S.M. and was accepted, joining his sister at the company.
