Pokemon Series Race 2020 FAQ

Q: How many games are you playing and how many pokemon are you catching?
A: 62 games and 861 unique pokemon that are possible to get in the games. (Yes, there will be duplicates of some pokemon)

Q: Are you insane?
A: Yes.

Q: Do you take sleep breaks?
A: Yes, the larger timer always displays my time without sleep breaks, while the smaller timer is constantly going from start to end. The gameplay timer is the one that matters more for 'race purposes'

Q: Wait, what was that about collecting every "possible pokemon"
A:    We can not get mythical pokemon except Deoxys. We also can not get Scizor, Porygon2, Porygon-Z, Magmortar, or Electivire because we are not allowed to trade with ourselves (All other trade evo pokes are obtainable). Also, no Landorus because to get Landorus in any game you need both Tornadus and Thundurus, and we can not get both in the same game without trading. Also 1 Galar starter line are unobtainable.

Q: Which game are you doing your catch em all in?
A: That's a misconception I've heard a lot leading up to this. The catch em all portion is catching all 861 pokemon throughout the main games. It's not just completing the Any% for most games but then capture everything in one game, we have to try and catch that total amount of pokemon throughout all the main series games.

Q: What's your favorite pokemon?
A: Turtwig, my favorite type is Ice however.

Q: How long will this take?
A: It took Robthegamer115 28 days to finish his run. So my estimate is around 3 weeks or so, but it could very well be longer or shorter due to the catch em all requirement.

Q: How many crazies are doing this?
A: There’s 3 of us. Rob already finished, Crrool is also doing this.

Q: Are you insane?
A: Still yes.

Q: What consoles will this be played on?
A: I'm playing on DS, 3DS, Wii, Wii U, Switch, N64, and on the Gambatte emulator on my PC since I can't record GB and GBC games. The Wii will be used to play GameCube games.

Q: Living dex or just standard pokedex?
A: Standard dex. If I get a Bulbasaur and evolve it into Venusaur, I get credit for Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, and Venusaur

Q: What do the colors on the tracker mean?
A: On the trackers, white means I haven't obtained it yet, black means I have, and blue means I could get it here, but I don't need to go out of my way for it.


Q: What game are you getting the most pokemon in?
A: Sword

A: A chat game for internet points! You don’t need to be subbed, all you need to do is type “whomboss” and you’re in
