Gendo: To be temporarily transferred to Londo Bell.

Misato: Huh!?

「これは決定事項だ」
Gendo: This decision is final.

ミサト
「待ってください!
[使徒]の迎撃はどうするおつもりなのです!?」
Misato: Please, hold on a second! What are we going to do about the [Angels] then!?

ゲンドウ
「当面は問題ない」
Gendo: That will not be a problem for the time being.

ミサト
(なんですって…!?)
Misato: (What the hell does that mean...!?)

「使徒が現れた場合は、
こちらからロンド・ベル隊に出動要請を出す」
Gendo: In the event of an Angel’s appearance, a demand will be sent for Londo Bell to return here.

「お言葉ですが、彼らは極東方面軍の管轄下にある
部隊ではないのです」
Misato: With all due respect sir, they’re a detachment underneath the Far Eastern Army’s jurisdiction.

「現状の[ネオ・ジオン]の動向を踏まえれば、
日本に駐留し続けるとは思えません」
Misato: Given the situation with [Neo Zeon], I don’t believe they’ll remain stationed in Japan.

Gendo: That is accounted for.

Misato: (Just what is going on here...?)

「なお、ロンド・ベル隊での初号機運用については
君に一任するが…必要に応じ、こちらから
命令を出す場合もある」
Gendo: Now, I shall leave the matter of Londo Bell and Unit-01’s operation to you. ...Of course, I shall issue orders directly if need be.

ミサト
「…状況次第では、ご子息が
使徒以外の敵と戦うことになりますが、
よろしいのですか?」
Misato: ...Depending on the situation, your son will have to fight enemies other than Angels. Is that acceptable?

ゲンドウ
「その判断も含めて、君に任せる。
人類の敵は、使徒だけではないのだからな」
Gendo: That shall be left to your discretion as well. The Angels are not mankind’s only enemies.

「ロンド・ベル隊でエヴァ初号機を運用するとなると、
NERVの機密が漏洩するおそれがあります。
その対処方法については?」
Misato: Using Unit-01 with Londo Bell may compromise NERV’s secrets. What should we do about that?

Gendo: Leave that to Dr. Ritsuko Akagi.

Misato: ...

「話は以上だ。ロンド・ベル隊へ通達し、
初号機の搬出作業に取りかかってくれたまえ」
Gendo: The discussion is over. Notify Londo Bell and proceed with moving Unit-01 over to them.

「彼らへの事情説明も私に任せるということですね?」
Misato: And you want me to explain the situation to them as well?

「そうだ」
Gendo: Indeed.

「だったら、連中はいつまで俺たちを
[第3新東京市]に止めておくつもりなのか…」
Benkei: If that’s the case, then why are they keeping us stopped at [Tokyo-3] for so long...?

「使徒迎撃作戦は終了したってのにさ」
Kei: The fight against the Angel is already over too.

「…ブライト、ディーダリオンの詳細な調査を行うために
[GGG]へ行った方がいいと思う」
Amuro: ...Bright, I think we should go to [GGG] in order to do detailed examinations on Didarion.

Bright: True, they do have the equipment for it...

Torres: Captain, we’ve received a transmission from Lieutenant Colonel Misato Katsuragi of NERV’s Tactical Division, Military Operations Department Section 1.

「なんだ、今頃になって…。
メインモニターに回してくれ」
Bright: What could they have to say at this point...? Put it on the main monitor.

「了解」
Torres: Sir.

「特務機関NERV戦術作戦部作戦局第一課所属、

Misato: This is Lieutenant Colonel Misato Katsuragi, of Special Organization NERV’s Tactical Division, Military Operations Department Section 1.

「ロンド・ベル隊司令、ブライト・ノア大佐だ」
Bright: Captain Bright Noa, Londo Bell Commander.

ミサト
「噂に名高い大佐とこうしてお話できて、光栄です。
この度は、我々の使徒迎撃作戦に
ご協力いただき、ありがとうございました」
Misato: It’s a privilege to speak with the famous Captain himself. First let me offer my thanks for cooperating with us against the Angel.

ブライト
「謝辞は結構。こちらも任務なのでな」
Bright: There’s no need to thank me. We simply did our duty.

「では、本題に入らせていただきます。
本日1200より、エヴァンゲリオン初号機と
そのパイロット、並びにNERVのスタッフが…」
Misato: Now, on to the real issue. As of today at 1200 hours, Evangelion Unit-01, its pilot, as well as NERV staff...

ミサト
「貴隊へ出向することになりました」
Misaot: Will be temporarily transferred over to your unit.

Bright: !?

弁慶
「な、なんだと!?」
Benkei: Wh-what did you say!?

「どういうことなの!?」
Kei: Why would they do that!?

ブライト
「葛城二佐、そのような話は上から聞いていない」
Bright: Lieutenant Colonel Katsuragi, I wasn’t informed of any of this by my superiors.

ミサト
「まもなく、地球連邦政府を通じ、
地球連邦軍統合参謀本部から通達があるかと」
Misato: The Earth Federation government and the Earth Federation General Staff Headquarters should be notified before long.

アムロ
「そんな頭ごなしの話を受け入れろと?」
Amuro: And do we have a say in this whatsoever?

ミサト
「そちらの疑問はごもっとも。
しかし、決定事項なのです、アムロ・レイ大尉」
Misato: It’s natural to be skeptical. However, this decision is final, Lieutenant Amuro Ray.

アムロ
(強引すぎる。これがNERVのやり方か)
Amuro: (Saying they’re ‘pushy’ is an understatement. So this is how NERV operates, huh.)

「そもそも、エヴァンゲリオンとはなんだ?」
Bright: Just what is that Evangelion in the first place?

ミサト
「使徒を撃退するため、NERVが建造した
汎用ヒト型決戦兵器です」
Misato: It’s an all-purpose humanoid battle weapon created by NERV for the sake of combating the Angels.

ブライト
「その使徒についても、我々は詳細を知らされていない」
Bright: We’re still not clear of the details surrounding the Angels ourselves.

ミサト
「現時点では、人類の敵だということのみ
お教えしておきます」
Misato: At present, all I can tell you is that they are the enemy of humanity.

ブライト
「ならば、それを撃退するための兵器を
何故、私の部隊に?」
Bright: In that case, for what reason are you leaving the weapon intended to fight them in my unit?

ミサト
「お答えできません。機密事項ですので」
Misato: I can’t answer that. It’s confidential.

ブライト
「………」
Bright: ...

ミサト
「では、エヴァンゲリオン初号機の搬入作業を
開始させていただきます。直ちに貴艦を
こちらから指定するポイントへ移動させてください」
Misato: Now then, let’s begin loading Evangelion Unit-01 onto your warship. Please move to the point we’ve designated at once.

ミサト
「伝達事項は、以上です」
Misato: Transmission, over.

渓
「な、なんなのさ、あの態度!」
Kei: Wh-what the heck’s with that attitude!?

アムロ
「向こうも任務だろうが、納得はいかないな。
どうする、ブライト?」
Amuro: I have a feeling she wasn’t fully convinced about this herself. So, what are we doing, Bright?

ブライト
「正式な命令が下るのであれば、受け入れるしかない。
それでわかることもあるだろう」
Bright: If it’s an official order, we’ve no choice but to follow it through. Hopefully everyone else will understand that.

トーレス
「…厄介事も引き受けそうな気がしますけどね」
Torres: ...I can’t help but feel this is going to bring us trouble.

ブライト
「今に始まったことじゃない。そういう星回りだ」
Bright: It wouldn’t be the first time. That’s just how it goes.

弁慶
「それを言われると、こちらも心苦しいんですがね」
Benkei: It’s rough hearing you say it like that.

ブライト
「事情が違うさ。
では、NERVの指定ポイントへ艦を移動させるぞ」
Bright: The situation’s a bit different this time however. Anyways, let’s move to the point NERV set for us.

Meg: Dido...?

ハサン
「ああ、誰かにそう呼ばれていたそうだが…
本人は覚えていないらしい」
Hasan:Yes, he said someone called him that before... But he doesn’t remember who it was.

Meg: ...

ユンナ
「では、ディーダリオン…
いえ、ディドの身体については?」
Yunna: Then what about Didarion’s... Or rather, Dido’s body?

ハサン
「それなんだがな…彼をスキャンしてみたところ、
異常なまでに速い自己治癒能力を除けば、
人間と変わりがない」

Hasan: Frankly it’s astonishing we can even hold a conversation with him, considering he was supposed to have come from inside an alien space ship.

「彼は巨人に変身するんですよ?
それに関連する機能があって然るべきでは?」
Yunna: What about when he transforms into a titan? Is there some kind of function that allows that to happen?

ハサン
「そのことについては、私が君たちに聞きたいぐらいだ。
ディドの機能というか、器官…骨格や筋肉、
内臓などは人間と同じなのだから」
Hasan: That’s what I was hoping to hear about from you guys. Dido’s faculties, his body parts... Skeleton, muscles, internal organs, they’re all the same as a regular human’s.

ハサン
「ここの設備じゃ、詳しいことは調べられないが…
事情を知らない者が彼を見れば、地球人だと思うだろう」
Hasan: I don’t have the proper equipment for a detailed examination here... But if someone looked at him without knowing better, they’d assume he was a human.

ユンナ
「高い自己治癒能力に関係する器官もないんですか?」
Yunna: Isn’t there an organ that allows his fast healing ability to function?

ハサン
「さっきも言った通り、彼は見た目も中身も
人間のそれと変わりがないのだ」
Hasan: As I said a moment ago, both his insides and outsides are the same as a normal human being’s.

(信じられない…)
Yunna: (I can’t believe it...)

ハサン
「そうそう、気になることがひとつあってな。
ディドは高い自己治癒能力を持っているにも
関わらず…」
Hasan: Oh, there is one thing that’s bothering me. Despite Dido having such fast healing capabilities...

「胸に大きな傷跡がある。
それがいつのモノなのか、何故治せないのか、
彼に聞いてみたが…わからないとのことだ」
Hasan: There’s a large scar on his chest. I asked him how he got it and why he couldn’t fix it... But he said he didn’t know.

「以後の事情聴取は、前にディドと対話をしていた
君に任せる。ただし、彼が変身する条件については
不明だから、充分に気をつけてくれ」
Hasan: Since you’ve spoken with Dido before, I’ll leave the rest of the questioning to you. However, we don’t know when he’ll transform, so do be cautious.

Meg: We understand.

「では、私はいったん離れるぞ」
Hasan: Then I’ll leave you alone for the moment.

「ユンナ、彼の所へ行きましょう」
Meg: Yunna, let’s go see him.

「その姿でいる時は、ディドって名前なんだ」
Meg: When you’re in this form, your name is Dido, right?

ディド
「…そうらしい」
Dido: ...Apparently.

「あたしのことは、覚えていてくれたのね」
Meg: Do you remember me?

ディド
「お前の声と…顔はな」
Dido: Your voice...and your face...

「南極の[MART]で、
あたしと話していたことについては?」
Meg: Do you remember speaking with me at MART in Antartica?

「前にティターンズの残党と戦った後、
あなたはあたしたちを守るために来たと言った…

Meg: After we fought the Titans remnants, you said you came to protect us... Why is that?

「善なる心を持つ者たちを…人間を守れ…」
Dido: Those with righteous hearts... Protecting them...

「それが、俺に与えられた使命…」
Dido: That is the mission I’ve been given...

「そんなこと、MARTにいた時は

Yunna: He didn’t mention that when he was at MART, did he?

(記憶障害は悪化する一方ではないということ?)
Yunna: (Does this mean his memory impairment isn’t getting worse then?)

「ねえ、ディド。あなたはあたしたちが
その…善なる心を持つ人間だと認識しているの?」
Meg: Hey, Dido. Does this mean you recognize us as people with righteous hearts?

「そう…らしい」
Dido: It...appears so.

「ディド、あなたにその使命を与えたのは誰なの?」

「もしかして、あなたを狙っていた
あの2体の巨人のこと…?」
Yunna: Wait, are you talking about those other two titans that came after you...?

「わから…ない…ううっ!」
Dido: I don’t...know... Ugh!

メグ
「ディド!?」
Meg: Dido!?

ディド
「くっ、うう…!」
Dido: Kgh, ugh...!

「…そこまでだ。
彼の傷は、まだ完全に癒えていない。
もう少し眠らせよう」
Hasan: ...That’s enough. His wounds still haven’t completely healed. He needs to rest for a little longer.

メグ
「わ、わかりました」
Meg: I-I understand.

(もしかして…あの巨人たちが、ディドを追って
また現れる可能性があるとでも?)

戸惑いはあるだろうが、それぞれ対処してくれ」
Bright: Everyone, you’ve all been informed of the situation. I know many of you must be confused, but I expect each of you to come to terms with this arrangement.

竜馬
(ふん…あれで説明だと?)
Ryoma: (Hmph... THAT was supposed to be an explanation?)

(わからないことばかりだぜ、まったく)
Ippei: (Sheesh, they didn’t explain anything.)

ブライト
「では、解散だ。
葛城二佐と赤木博士は艦長室まで同行願おう」
Bright: Alright, you’re dismissed. Lieutenant Colonel Katsuragi, Dr. Akagi, please accompany me to the captain’s quarters.

ミサト
「はっ」
Misato: Sir.

リツコ
「わかりました」
Ritsuko: Understood.

ミサト
「シンジ君、
ちょっち大人同士の難しい話をしてくるから、
ここで待っててもらえる?」
Misato: Shinji, I’m going to have a difficult conversation with some other adults, so just wait right here for a while, okay?

シンジ
「は、はい」
Shinji: Y-yes.

(Misato, Ritsuko, and Bright leave.)

(こんな所にひとりで残されても…)
Shinji: (I really don’t want to be left alone here...)

「君が、あのエヴァンゲリオンに乗っていたなんてな」
Guy: So, you’re the Evangelion’s pilot?

シンジ
「はい、あの…」
Shinji: Yes, um...

凱
「ああ、俺は獅子王凱。これからよろしく頼むぜ」
Guy: Oh, I’m Guy Shishioh. I’m looking forward to working with you.

日吉
「僕は剛日吉。
ボルトフリゲートのパイロットだよ」
Hiyoshi: I’m Hiyoshi Go. I pilot the Volt Frigate.

シンジ
「えっ…僕より年下なのに?」
Shinji: Um... Aren’t you younger than me?

日吉
「うん。
お父さんとお母さんが造ったボルトマシンに乗って、
地球の平和のために戦ってるんだ」
Hiyoshi: Yeah. We’re fighting in the Volt Machine our father and mother made, to protect the peace on Earth.

シンジ
「…!」
Shinji: ...!

「ねえ、あの使徒ってのは何なのさ?
人類の敵って説明だけじゃ、納得がいかないよ」
Kei: Hey, what’s the deal with the Angels? Just saying that they’re ‘enemies of humanity’ isn’t a good enough explanation.

ユンナ
「それと、
インベーダーが第3新東京市に現れた理由は?」
Yunna: Furthermore, what was it that caused the Invaders to appear in Tokyo-3?

日吉
「エヴァンゲリオンって、動力源はなんなの?」
Hiyoshi: And what’s the Evangelion’s power source anyways?

シンジ
「あ、あの、僕は…」
Shinji: Ah, um, I...

「ちょっと、ちょっと。
シンジ君だって、詳しい事情は知らないのよ。
質問攻めにしたら、可哀想でしょ」
Megumi: Hey, cut that out. Even Shinji doesn’t know all the details. Don’t bombard the poor guy with questions.

「ああ、これからは行動を共にする仲間なんだからな」
Guy: That’s right, we’re all partners from here on.

シンジ
(仲間…?
どこに行っても同じじゃないか。
僕はひとりの方が…)
Shinji: (Partners...? It’s the same everywhere I go. I’d rather just be left alone...)

カミーユ
「なら、最後にひとつだけ。答えられればでいい」
Kamille: Then there’s just one last thing. Are you willing to answer?

シンジ
「…はい」
Shinji: ...Yes.

カミーユ
「君は…自分から志願して
エヴァンゲリオンに乗ったのか?」
Kamille: Did you choose to pilot Evangelion on your own?

シンジ
「…乗りたくて乗ったわけじゃありません。
父があれに乗れと言ったから…」
Shinji: ...I didn’t pilot it because I wanted to. My father told me to do it...

カミーユ
「そうか…親ってのは勝手だな」
Kamille: I see... Your father must be pretty selfish.

シンジ
「え?」
Shinji: Huh?

カミーユ
「そうやって、子供の気も知らずにさ」
Kamille: If he did that, he must not even care about his own child’s feelings.

「それでも…自分の父親から託された物なら、
何か意味があると思います」
Banagher: Even so... If it’s something your father entrusted to you, I think there’s some meaning in that.

「ああ。事情や経緯は違うけど、俺も父親から
ユニコーンというモビルスーツを託された」
Banagher: Yeah. Our situation and circumstances may be different, but my father entrusted something to me too. A mobile suit, the Unicorn.

バナージ
「そして、そのことの本当の意味を知ろうと思ってる」
Banagher: And I’m trying to learn the true meaning to why he left it to me.

シンジ

Shinji: ...

「この中には、自分の親が造ったロボットに
乗ってる人間が結構いるんだぜ。
ちなみに、俺や凱さんもそうさ」
Kenichi: A lot of us are piloting robots that our parents built. Take me and Guy for example.

シンジ
(僕だけじゃ…ないんだ)
Shinji: (So I’m...not the only one.)

アムロ
「…俺たち大人よりも、
カミーユや健一たちの言葉の方が
彼にはダイレクトに伝わるか」
Amuro: ...Looks like Kamille and Kenichi’s words are gonna get through to him better than us adults ever will.

「そうだな。
今のロンド・ベル隊は、若いパイロットが多いし」
Benkei: Seems that way. You know, there are a lot of young pilots in Londo Bell right now.

竜馬
「で、あの軟弱なガキに背中を預けられるのか?
事情はどうあれ、この艦はエヴァンゲリオンに
襲われかけたんだぜ?」
Ryoma: Tch, so I’m supposed to let that little brat watch my back? You remember that Evangelion of his nearly attacked the ship, right?

弁慶
「おい…!」
Benkei: Hey...!

シンジ
「ぼ、僕は…」
Shinji: I-I...

竜馬
「ほう…この俺に口を利こうってのか」
Ryoma: Oh...? You got something to say to me?

弁慶
「竜馬、大人げないぞ」
Benkei: Ryoma, stop acting like a child!

竜馬
「ふん…もし、次にああなったら、
俺は容赦なくエヴァンゲリオンを叩きのめす」
Ryoma: Hmph... If it happens again, I’m gonna make minced meat out of that Evangelion.

シンジ

Shinji: !

竜馬
「だが…今回は、あの化け物にひとりで立ち向かった
お前の覚悟を信じてやるぜ」
Ryoma: But...you did manage to fight that monster on your own this time. So I’ve at least got faith in your resolve.

「まったく、あいつは…。
すまなかったな、シンジ」
Benkei: Geez, that guy... Sorry about him, Shinji.

シンジ
「い、いえ…」
Shinji: I-it’s fine...

弁慶
「なんにせよ、お前が使徒から街を守ったのは事実だ。
エヴァンゲリオンの性能のおかげかもしれんが、
よく頑張ったな」
Benkei: Whatever the case, it’s a fact you protected this city from the Angel. Even if it was because of the Evangelion’s power, you did well.

シンジ

Shinji: ...

弁慶
「どうした、その顔は?」
Benkei: Come on, what’s with that face?

シンジ
「僕は…人から褒められることをしたんですか」
Shinji: Did I...really do something that people can praise me for?

弁慶
「妙なことを聞く奴だな。
お前のおかげで生命を助けられた人間は、
何人もいるはずだぞ」
Benkei: That’s a strange thing to hear from you. I’m sure there’s a bunch of people whose lives were saved because of you.

無差別攻撃を開始しました!」
Torres: [Invaders] have appeared in Tokyo-3 and have begun attacking indiscriminately!

「NERVからは何か言ってきているか?」
Bright: What did NERV have to say?

トーレス
「それは…」
Torres: Well...

ミサト
「ブライト艦長、ロンド・ベル隊に
インベーダーの迎撃要請が出ています。

Bright: Very well. Torres, have all units launch on the double!

Episode 10
Angels and Men


(Scene begins on the map screen of Tokyo-3. Ra Cailum is deployed and several Invaders are present.)

ゲンドウ
「葛城二佐、エヴァンゲリオン初号機を出撃させろ」
Gendo: Lieutenant Colonel Katsuragi, launch Evangelion Unit-01.

ミサト
「初号機とそのパイロットは、まだ不安定な状態です。
インベーダーとの交戦は危険かと」
Misato: Unit-01 and its pilot are still in bad shape. It would be dangerous to send them out against Invaders now.

ゲンドウ
「使徒との戦闘程ではない」
Gendo: This is nothing compared to an Angel.

ミサト
「しかし…!」
Misato: But...!

ゲンドウ
「初号機のパイロットを実戦に慣れさせる。
そのために、君たちをロンド・ベル隊へ
出向させたのだからな」
Gendo: Unit-01 and its pilot will become acclimated to real combat. It is for that reason they were transferred to Londo Bell to begin with.

ミサト
(言葉通りには受け取れないわね。
理屈は通っているけど)
Misato: (He can’t really mean that. Still, it does make some sense.)

ゲンドウ
「これは命令だ」
Gendo: That is an order.

ミサト
「わかりました。エヴァ初号機を出撃させます。
…いいわね、リツコ?」
Misato: I understand, sir. EVA Unit-01 will be sent out. ...Is it ready, Ritsuko?

リツコ
「ええ」
Ritsuko: Yes.

(Unit-01 and Londo Bell units appear.)

ミサト
「シンジ君、インベーダーは
使徒より遙かに小さく、素早いわ。
相手の動きをよく見て対処するのよ」
Misato: Shinji, Invaders are much smaller and faster than Angels. You need to keep a close eye on them to defeat them.

シンジ
「は、はい」
Shinji: Y-yes.

ミサト
(前の戦闘であんなことがあったのに、
今回はさほど抵抗せずエヴァに乗ったわね)
Misato: (Despite everything that happened in the last battle, he didn’t put up a fight when he got into the EVA this time.)

若いパイロットたちと話をしたから…?)
Misato: (I wonder if the young pilots in Londo Bell had anything to do with that...?)

Meg: I wonder if Shinji will be alright...

「彼はまだ戦闘に不慣れだ。
みんな、できるだけフォローしてやってくれ」
Amuro: He’s still not used to battle yet. Everyone, try and cover him as best you can.

「了解です!」
Meg: Roger!

「各機、インベーダーを掃討しろ!」
Bright: All units, clear out these Invaders!

(Battle 1 starts.)

(This exchange triggers if Shinji battles an Invader.)

ミサト
「シンジ君、さっき言った通りよ!
相手の動きをよく見て!」
Misato: Shinji, do it just like I said before! Watch their movements!

シンジ
「は、はい…!」
Shinji: Y-yes...!

シンジ
(父さんが…僕を見てる…!)
Shinji: (Father...is watching me...!)

(Battle 1 ends when all Invaders are defeated.)

トーレス
「戦域内の敵反応、全て消失!」
Torres: There are no more enemy readings in the combat zone!

ブライト
「対空監視を継続。各機は周辺を警戒せよ。
エヴァンゲリオン初号機の様子は?」
Bright: Keep up surveillance with the anti-aircraft guns. All units, keep a tight perimeter. What’s the status on Evangelion Unit-01?

ミサト
「どう、リツコ?」
Misato: How’s it look, Ritsuko?

リツコ
「取り立てて報告を要する問題点はないわ」
Ritsuko: There are no abnormalities to report.

ミサト
「初戦闘時とは大違いね」
Misato: Pretty big difference from the first battle.

リツコ
「相手が使徒じゃないもの」
Ritsuko:The enemies weren’t Angels, after all.

メグ
「…もうインベーダーは出てこなさそうね」
Meg: ...It doesn’t look like anymore Invaders are going to come out.

(Meg receives a notification.)

メグ
「あら? ハサン先生から?」
Meg: Huh? From Dr. Hasan?

ハサン
「メグ、問題が起きた! ディドが脱走した!」
Hasan: Meg, there’s a problem! Dido escaped!

メグ
「ええっ!?」
Meg: Say what!?

ハサン
「今、彼が外に出る!」
Hasan: He’s outside right now!

メグ
「外って、ラー・カイラムは飛行中…」
Meg: Outside? But, the Ra Cailum is flying...

(A spot next to the Ra Cailum glows brightly, then Didarion appears.)

ユンナ
「変身した…!」
Yunna: He transformed...!

ミサト
「今の光は何!?」
Misato: What was that light just now!?

リツコ
「あの巨人…ディーダリオンが放ったようね」
Ritsuko: It’s that titan... Didarion released it.

ミサト
「あれは第3新東京市にずっといたっていうの…!?」
Misato: He’s been in Tokyo-3 the whole time...!?

リツコ
(もしかしたら…)
Ritsuko: (Or possibly...)

メグ
「ディド、どこへ行くつもりなの!?」
Meg: Dido, where are you planning to go!?

ディーダリオン
「危険だ…!」
Didarion: You’re in danger...!

メグ
「え!?」
Meg: Huh!?

(The screen shakes violently.)

ディーダリオン
「こ、この感じ…!」
Didarion: Th-this feeling...!

メグ
「どうしたの!?」
Meg: What’s going on!?

ディーダリオン
「覚えがある…!」
Didarion: I remember...!

メグ
「ええっ!?」
Meg: Huuuh!?

メグ
「こ、このエネルギー反応は!?」
Meg: Wh-what’s with this energy reading!?

弁慶
「どうした、メグ?」
Benkei: What’s wrong, Meg!?

メグ
「そ、そんな! あの時と同じだわ!
まさか!?」
Meg: N-no way! It’s the same from before! Are they really...!?

(Angilon and Marvion appear.)

Angilon: ...

マービュオン
「………」
Marvion: ...

「な、なんだ、あいつらは!?」
Ippei: Wh-who are those guys!?

ユンナ
「嫌な予感が的中した…!」
Yunna: That bad hunch turned out to be right...!

メグ
「か、彼らもこの世界に来ていたの!?」
Meg: D-did they come to this world too!?

アンギルオン
「ようやく見つけたぞ、ディーダリオン」
Angilon: We’ve finally found you, Didarion.

ディーダリオン
「お前たちは…!?」
Didarion: Are you two...!?

(Scene ends.)

(Next scene picks up right where the last one left off.)

メグ
「か、彼らもこの世界へ来ていたなんて…!」
Meg: I-I didn’t think they’d come to this world too...!

渓
「それって…。
もしかして、あいつらがディーダリオンを
追ってた奴なの!?」
Kei: Is that... Could it be those are the guys after Didarion!?

メグ
「ええ、間違いないわ!」
Meg: Yes, I’m sure of it!

冬月
「…碇」
Fuyutsuki: ...Ikari.

ゲンドウ
「ああ、イレギュラーだ」
Gendo: Yes, an irregularity.

冬月
「どうする?」
Fuyutsuki: What should we do?

ゲンドウ
「様子を見る。そのためのロンド・ベル隊だ」
Gendo: We will observe. After all, this is what Londo Bell is here for.

「これも筋書き通りか?」
Fuyutsuki: Is this also according to the scenario?

Didarion: You guys are...

「ディーダリオン…。
この世界に来てもなお、人間どもに味方するか」
Angilon: Didarion... Even when coming to this world, you ally yourselves with the humans.

Angilon: As I thought, your existence is intolerable.

マービュオン
「待って。
あの時のディーダリオンの力は予想外だった」
Marvion: Wait. Before, Didarion had an unexpected power.

アンギルオン

Angilon: ...

マービュオン
「私たちにはあり得ないこと…。
やはり、調べた方がいいわ。
エギリゴが彼に何をしたか」
Marvion: It shouldn’t be something we are capable of... I still think we should look into it. Whatever Egiligo did to him.

アンギルオン
「その必要はない!
裏切り者はここで抹殺する!」
Angilon: There’s no need! We will kill the traitor right here!

ディーダリオン
「お前たちは…
俺が何者なのか知っているのか?」
Didarion: You two... Do you know who I am?

アンギルオン
「…まだ記憶が戻っていないか」
Angilon: ...So your memory has yet to return.

マービュオン
「だったら、尚更…」
Marvion: That’s all the more reason to...

アンギルオン
「いや、やることは同じだ」
Angilon: No, our task remains the same.

メグ
「ラー・カイラム、そして各機へ!
彼らはあたしたちを攻撃するつもりです!」
Meg: Ra Cailum and all other units! They’re going to attack us!

ミサト
「どういうこと!? あの巨人たちは何者なの!?」
Misato: What’s going on!? Just who are those titans!?

竜馬
「ぐだぐだ言ってる暇はねえ! 迎撃するぞ!」
Ryoma: We got no time for idle chatter! Intercept them!

アンギルオン
「愚かで、か弱き人間どもよ…
貴様らに闘争をくれてやろう!」
Angilon: Foolish, feeble humans... You shall struggle before me!

アンギルオン
「それを乗り越えられぬ者には、死あるのみ!」
Angilon: Only death awaits those who cannot overcome me!

(Battle 2 starts.)

(This exchange triggers if Didarion attacks Angilon.)

アンギルオン
「ディーダリオン!
貴様がエギリゴに何をされようと!」
Angilon: Didarion! I don’t care what that bastard Egiligo did to you!

アンギルオン
「その醜い姿を、その存在をここで抹消してくれる!」
Angilon: Your unsightly form, your very existence shall be erased here!

ディーダリオン
「エギリゴとは何だ!?」
Didarion: Who is Egiligo!?

アンギルオン
「思い出せぬのなら、
疑問を抱いたまま果てるがいい!」
Angilon: If you don’t remember, then you can meet your end in ignorance!

マービュオン
「ディーダリオン!
このままだと、あなたは自分の力を
制御できなくなるわ!」
Marvion: Didarion! If you keep this up, you won’t be able to control your own power!

ディーダリオン
「力を…!? どういうことだ!?」
Didarion: Power!? What do you mean!?

マービュオン
(記憶が戻らないのなら、
実力行使で彼を捕らえるしかない…!)
Marvion: (If he doesn’t remember, then I have no choice but to use force to capture him...!)

(Battle 2 ends when one of the boss’s HP falls below 50%.)

「ふん…それがお前たちの力か」
Angilon: Hmph... So this is the power you all possess.

ディーダリオン
「今だ…!」
Didarion: Now...!

(Didarion moves to Angilon and attacks.)

アンギルオン
「ディーダリオン!?
おのれ、舐めるなぁぁっ!!」
Angilon: Didarion!? Don’t look down on me, you cretin!!

マービュオン
「やめて、アンギルオン!
ディーダリオンを追い込んでは…!」
Marvion: Stop, Angilon! If you drive Didarion into a corner...!

(Angilon uses Aurama against Didarion. A battle animation begins.)

「ディーダリオン、貴様の存在は許し難い!」
Angilon: Didarion, your existence is inexcusable!

アンギルオン
「受けよ!アウラーマー!」
Angilon: Take this! Aurama!

ディーダリオン

Didarion: Ugh... Gwaaagh...!

(Battle animation ends. Didarion is down to a sliver of health.)
