Your clothes explode off your body and you are bathed in a sparkling light that forces the demon to avert its eyes.

HEROIIIINE



Rainbow ribbons materialize out of the night air and loop around your body, rapidly solidifying into the white bodysuit, gloves and boots, and dark blue miniskirt of your costume.

TRANSFORMATION!



With a final starburst flourish leaving a bright red bow on the front of your outfit, you assume an impressive fighting pose.

You focus your cosmic powers upon the crystal. It bursts from within, transforming into a cloud of shadowy energy that swiftly reforms into a CRYSTAL CHARM hanging from a glittering band.

You choose to view your future, and are confronted with an image of yourself bound by crystal shackles. Dark purple lightning plays across across your body, eliciting desperate cries of pain.


The crystal's cloudy surface shifts and clarifies as you approach and you freeze in horror at the sight within.

One of your teammates floats helplessly within the crystal prison, like a fly in amber.

The crystal isn't the power source. She is.

You grasp the sides of the crystal and pull upwards with all of your might. With a crackle of energy, it comes loose. There's still no response from your friend inside, who remains motionless.

The walls immediately begin to warp and shake. This entire place must be losing coherence!

You rush through the place as it melts away, though carrying the giant crystal makes it difficult.

Feeling the gate's energy signature rapidly diminish, you make it just in time, bursting back into the city square as the gate closes completely.

You carry the crystal back to the rooftops. Your friend is still unresponsive though alive, and you don't want to risk smashing it for fear of harming her. For now though, she's safe.

Pulling out a photo of you and your mentor together, you focus on happier times. Over the course of several minutes you manage to calm yourself and return your mind to the task at hand.

You follow your senses to a barely-visible patch of shimmering air. Gripping the edges of the gate, you pull hard and enlarge the opening wide enough for you to step through.

You step through the gate and find yourself in the middle of a clearing in a misty forest. Far in the distance, you feel the presence of the power source maintaining the gate.

Another teammate? If so, you can't waste a moment. You head off into the fog, darting between the closely-set narrow treetrunks.
