22* - The LocalCoast IRC Network is intended as a friendly chat network, bringing toget
22* - her a community and enabling users
22* - of all ages and interests to chat with each other in a pleasant environment. The
22* - Network Staff enforce the following
22* - rules to make this possible:

22* - 1. Hate speech (racism and malicious personal attacks on other users on subject s
22* - uch as religious beliefs) will NOT
22* - be tolerated on this network. Any such action will result in a ban or a kill depe
22* - nding on the seriousness of the offence and the judgment of the network staff.
22* - 2. Deliberate disrespect to any member of staff will NOT be tolerated. We also as
22* - k that decisions and actions takenby staff, such as network bans or channel bans,
22* -  are not questioned or argued with in any channel. We have an appeal section on o
22* - ur forums and any ban or action considered to be in error can be appealed there A
22* - lso, no Network Staff may be banned or kicked from a channel, at any time.
22* - 3. No spambots, drones, or malicious scripts are allowed in any channel at any ti
22* - me. Useful bot scripts that change the topic, etc. are allowed, as long asthey ar
22* - e only executed in your personal channel or within a channel where you hav e obta
22* - ined the owner's consent. Such scripts are offered by certain users. Ask in #chat
22* -  or #bots.
22* - 4. The network may not be used to advertise or distribute malware, viruses, and/o
22* - r malicious software that could harm or infect any user's computer.
22* - 5. The network may not be used in any way to promote or distribute illicit sexual
22* -  material such as child
22* - pornography or any material harmful to minors.
22* - 6. The network may not be used for hacking or cracking purposes or in any way to
22* - gain access to another user's computer and/or distribute personal information suc
22* - h as phone numbers, addresses, etc.
22* - 7. Commercial advertising may only be allowed on pre-approval of the network staf
22* - f. We also ask that you do not excessively spam personal links such as websites,
22* - email addresses, or FTP or IRC servers. However, posting websites and your OWN em
22* - ail address within your personal channel is allowed. Spamming of IRC servers is n
22* - ot! If you wish to paste links in another users channel it is courteous to ask fi
22* - rst, unless you have already been given permission or someone has asked you for t
22* - he information. Remember, you are in no way obliged to give out any of this infor
22* - mation. (See Rule 6)
22* - 8. Please don't ask for an o:line or any kind of status on the network. The netwo
22* - rk is not looking to recruit any more staff at this time. Channel owners are free
22* -  to make decisions regarding to status such as access levels in their own channel
22* - s and these decisions should be respected.
22* - 9. Please do not request the staff to interfere in channel affairs. This includes
22* -  asking us to op/deop/ban/unban somebody from a channel. Channel owners have the
22* - right to run their channel(s) however they see fit. Repeatedly asking for such th
22* - ings in #help will get you banned from the network support channel.
22* - 10. We will NOT tolerate anything illegal behavior on localcoast IRC. Laws that a
22* - pply in the offline world apply online too! We will not be held responsible for i
22* - llegal behavior. We do not condone, or allow sharing of illegal and/or stolen con
22* - tent, including but not limited to music, movies or applications, etc. File shari
22* - ng is strictly prohibited.
22* - 11. Upon connecting, your connection can and will be scanned for insecure proxies
22* -  and other security risks that may put our users at risk. There are our network r
22* - ules. We ask you to follow them to make the IRC experience a good one for every u
22* - ser. Any breach of these rules will result in action being taken by the Network S
22* - taff. The action we take is at our discretion depending on what offence is commit
22* - ted and the seriousness of the offence. We reserve the right to change the rules
22* - of the network without notice at any time.
22* - IF YOU DO NOT AGREE WITH THESE RULES PLEASE DISCONNECT FROM THE NETWORK AND DO NO

22* - REMEMBER: IRC IS A PRIVELLIGE, NOT A RIGHT. YOUR WELCOMENESS MAY BE REVOKED AT AN
