  1. Stratagem’s blistering Speed and high Special Attack suggest that it’s a threatening special attacker, but due to its mono STAB attack of Rock, it’s forced to run many coverage moves to make up for its lacking power. Paleo Wave is Stratagem’s signature move, sporting a chance to lower Attack. Fire Blast and Hidden Power Ice are required to threaten Steel-types like Ferrothorn and Celesteela and Ground-types like Landorus-T and Zygarde. Earth Power reliably OHKOs Heatran and Mega Crucibelle, while Energy Ball 2HKOs Arghonaut. With Levitate, Stratagem can take advantage of Choice Scarf Landorus-T and force it out, and Life Orb provides an overall boost to its power.

  3. Kitsunoh is one of the premier Scarfers in the CAP metagame as its speed stat allows it to outspeed Necturna after a shell smash whilst its access to powerful Ghost STAB allows it to always OHKO -1 Necturna. On top of this, Kitsunoh also has access to a large variety of utility options which it can make use of such as U-turn, Trick, Will-o-Wisp and Defog which allow it to effectively support its team and cripple its targets. Shadow Strike is Kitsunoh's signature move and boasts a 50% chance to drop the target's defence which allows Kitsunoh to often break through its checks via this secondary effect. Meteor Mash makes use of Kitsunoh's Steel typing and allows it to hit Pokemon such as Tyranitar, Jumbao and Clefable whilst also fishing for the Attack raise it can offer which can often secure Kitsunoh a sweep.

  5. Mega Crucibelle is the premier offensive pivot in the CAP metagame. Between its ridiculously strong STAB moves, great abilities, and access to U-turn, Mega Crucibelle has very few reliable checks. Combined with Magic Guard, Head Smash is extremely spammable late-game without facing the recoil damage. Mega Crucibelle has very few checks, but the few that it does have, namely Zygarde, Kartana, Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, Revenankh, and Arghonaut, can be switched out of with U-turn, gaining momentum against them. Additionally, Mega Crucibelle can get past its Steel-type checks by itself with Low Kick. It should also be noted that Mega Crucibelle is one of the best Stealth Rock setters in the tier thanks to its good matchup against a majority of Defoggers, such as Tornadus-T and Zapdos. Mega Crucibelle can also make use of Toxic Spikes instead of Stealth Rock to manually apply pressure on would-be checks such as Zygarde, Revenankh, and Arghonaut, which want to avoid being poisoned at all cost.
