Felix is the worst patient

Covet: Felix was laying on the couch, stiff and sore from yesterday. He looked more bruised and banged up today than he had last night, but they'd finally cleared him to leave. He could feel his phone vibrating on the couch, but it was just out of reach. He gave a bit of a groan, then just sighed, "Fuck it. It can wait."
Alexithymiaa: -Steph had been busy fussing over him since they had gotten home from the hospital. She was in the kitchen pulling out a tray of cookies from the oven to set down to cool when she heard him groaning. "What's the matter? Do you need something?" She asked, pulling the oven mitt off her hand and starting over to him.-
Covet: "No, it's fine. I can wait until you get back over here. It smells really good in here though." He said. "Will you bring me my pain meds on your way over too?" Felix asked her.
Alexithymiaa: "Yep, got it." She said quickly, turning to grab the little prescription bottle off the counter to bring over with him, picking up the bottle of water she'd gotten for him earlier that she'd set on the coffee table. Handing him the water, she shook out a couple of pills into her hand, holding them out to him. "What else do you need?"-
Covet: "My phone. I think my mom's been trying to call." Felix said as he took the bottle from her and struggled to get it open. "Here switch me." he said grumbling, taking the pills from her.
Alexithymiaa: -She took the bottle of water from him and unscrewed the top, passing it back to him and then reaching for his phone. "Have you talked to her?" She asked, biting the inside of her cheek and unlocking his phone because she's a nosey bitch and she wanted to see if it had been her that called.-
Covet: "Thanks, Not in any real detail, just that She wouldn't have to worry about trying to make any games at the beginning of the basketball season." He said pouting. It was most definitely his mother who had called, and there was a couple of voicemails on top of the handful of missed calls.
Alexithymiaa: -She scrolled through his phone seeing all the missed calls and voicemails from his mother before setting it down on the couch next to him, taking a seat and looking him directly in the face. "I'm sorry... I know how much you were looking forward to basketball season starting."-
Covet: He gave a bit of a shrug, "Not much I can do about it now. But you can sure as shit bet I'm going to make sure that Keegan pays for all my disappointment." He said taking his meds then held his hand out for his phone.
Alexithymiaa: "Right... sorry." She said quickly, picking up the phone and passing it over to him. "I know. The police are looking for her. There's a warrant out for her arrest."-
Covet: "Good. That's what she fucking gets." Felix said looking at his phone, scrolling through it with one hand, before he started to message his mother, he looked over at Steph, " Thank you for all that you've done and being there for me. "It means a lot, and I really hope you're not beating yourself up over this at all. "
Alexithymiaa: "Why wouldn't I be there for you? Aside from the fact that you've been there for me through all of my shit, I love you and I want to make sure you're taken care of." She said reaching to put her hand on his knee because that was at least a somewhat safe place to touch him. And then completely ignored his last statement.-
Covet: "And... what about the second thing I said." He told her giving her a nudge with his knee. His joints were stiff but for the most part his lowerhalf was mobile.
Alexithymiaa: "It means a lot to you?" She asked, knowing full well what he was referring to and then sighing, giving a shrug. "How I feel should be no concern of yours right now. Your focus should be on yourself and healing and relaxing. That's it."-
Covet: "I am relaxing. But I'm also having an important conversation with my fiance too." Felix told her. " I am capable of multitasking sometimes. And how you feel is just as important to me. So spill it Missy."
Alexithymiaa: -She looked down into her lap, moving her fingers to pick at the skin on her palm that she'd scraped up yesterday. "It just feels like you getting hurt was my fault. I'm the reason Keegan has been doing awful things and I'm the one who's tried to ignore it until you got hurt. I should have done something before now and I didn't. And you're the one who has to suffer the consequences."-
Covet: "Steph, for all we know she was going after you. If I wasn't there... I might not have you here right now to take care of me. You're not the reason she's done all this shit. She is. We've done everything we possibly could in dealing with her." Felix said to her.
Alexithymiaa: "You're only reinforcing my point. For all we know, she was going after me, but you're the one who ended up getting hurt. There's just no way I can feel good about this, I'm sorry."-
Covet: "Stop it. I'm alive. And I'll be back to normal in six weeks. " Felix told her "I'm glad she hit me over you. I can apparently take a hit like that. You wouldn't. Are you seriously telling me you'd rather be dead, than see me laid up for a few weeks?" He asked,"Because there's no way I can feel good about that."
Alexithymiaa: "Of course not, but that doesn't mean that I don't feel responsible for you being laid up for a few weeks..." She trailed off, pushing her hair back. "I don't want to argue about this. I just want you to relax. Do you want some cookies? They're probably cool by now."-
Covet: "You're not responsible. Keegan is a big girl and has made her own big girl choices. All I need is for you to give me a smile. Because that's going to make me heal faster. And you bet your sweet ass I want some cookies. " Felix told her.
Alexithymiaa: -She nodded her head and forced a smile onto her lips even though she didnt actually believe a word he said. Leaning in, she pecked his cheek and then stood to her feet, walking into the kitchen to get the cookies dished onto a plate. "Depending on how you're feeling tomorrow, I'll stop and pick up things to make special brownies for you."-
Covet: "A real smile, dammit woman." Felix said with a pout as she leaned in to give him a kiss. " That sounds good. " He told her as he sent another message in response to his mom.
Alexithymiaa: -Getting all the cookies onto a plate, she walked them back over into the living room to set down on the couch next to him so they were in perfect reach for him before making her way back into the kitchen to begin cleaning up after her baking. "If you're not feeling well enough to be left alone tomorrow, I can always ask Cadence to pick it up and come over with it so I can stay and help you."-
Covet: "I'll be alright to be left alone for a little bit. Plus I'll need someone to get my course work. Work has been notified that I'll be out the rest of this week." Felix said getting a cookie to put in his mouth. "Oh my god so good, so warm."
Alexithymiaa: "Are you sure? I can always send someone to get your classwork for you. I dont want to come back and youre lying on the floor because you fell off the couch and can't get yourself up or something." She said as she tossed the parchment paper into the trash.-
Covet: "I'll be fine." Felix told her with a sigh. "I've got a broken arm and collar bone. I'm not an invalid." He said dramatically.
Alexithymiaa: "I think you could have fooled the nurses last night..." She said in a low voice because she didnt actually want him to hear her, but he was pretty awful last night. "Well.... we need to make sure Penny knows she's not allowed to jump on you." She said as she finished cleaning up and walked back over. "Are the cookies enough or do you want me to throw some dino nuggets in the oven for you?"-
Covet: "Cookies are fine. The pain meds make me feel a little naseuous." He said to her. "I've already got that solution figured out. I just need you to leave me with the treat bag. I'll just have her sit near my feet instead of trying to jump up on the couch."
Alexithymiaa: -At the sound of the word treat, both Harvey and Nugget came out from around the corner and made their way into the living room, going right over to Felix. The difference was that Harvey could jump up onto the couch to sit next to him where Nugget would just sit on the floor and whine. "Yeah... it's better to have something in your stomach with them though. It'll be worse if you don't eat anything."-
Covet: "I didn't mean right now you fur butterballs." Felix said to both Nugget and Harvey. "I am eating cookies, This plate is already like half gone." He told her "They are good enough for right now, Stop fussing." He said to her.
Alexithymiaa: "I just want to make sure you have everything you need." She said quickly, shaking her head at the animals. "Do you think you're going to be able to sleep in bed tonight?"-
Covet: "Probably. So long as I stayed propped up." Felix said trying to shrug, then immediately regretted that decision. "Ouch... mother fu.... I did alright in the hospital bed last night."
Alexithymiaa: "Take it easy." She hissed at him, moving quickly to his side to look over his brace. "If you want we can prop you up in the middle of the bed with lots of pillows for support and I can sleep on the couch or in the guest room."-
Covet: "You will not. You will be sleeping right next to me. There is plenty of room in the bed for us both." He said then looked at her in a tone that screamed "Stop fussing!"
Alexithymiaa: -She slumped a little at his look, running her fingers back through her hair. "Well... we'll close the door so the cat's don't jump up on the bed in the morning and step on you."-
Covet: "They are cats, they aren't that heavy." He said with a whine. "We don't have to change everything to accomodate me. It's fine. Just... Lay here with me and let us half assedly cuddle."
Alexithymiaa: "That's fine. When Harvey or Hugo steps on your chest, we'll see if you still don't think they're that heavy." She said with a snicker because Harvey was almost 20 pounds and Hugo was a good fifteen since he was such a long kitty. And that shit feels heavy . She leaned into him, careful to avoid his left side and reached her hand up to stroke at his hair. "I just want you to be as comfortable as possible."-
Covet: "If you stop fussing and just lay here with me. I will be just that." Felix told her as he looked over at her and pressed a kiss to the top of her head. "I'm pretty sure they'll move the minute I yell out."
Alexithymiaa: "I'm not fussing. I'm caring. I care." She said with a smile. "Are we talking about the same apathetic cats, here? The only thing get gets Harvey off his fat ass is the T-R-E-A-T word."-
Covet: "I don't like thinking in hypotheticals" Felix said turning his head a bit. "Thank you for caring. Now just love me dammit."
Alexithymiaa: "I can't love you. I think I'd end up hurting you." She said, continuing to run her fingers through his hair.0
Covet: "I didn't mean like that." Felix said grinning. "I'm definitely not in the mood or shape for that kind of love." He said doing his best to wrap his good arm around her.
Alexithymiaa: "I didnt think so. And I wouldnt allow it anyway. You need to wait a little while for that." She paused, making eyes at him. "So Bryan asked me what I wanted for Christmas."-
Covet: "Oh yeah? What did you tell him?" He asked her looking back at her.
Alexithymiaa: "I told him that I wanted him to go to the local shelter there and adopt a senior dog." She said with a grin because she was fucking proud of this shit.-
Covet: "I should have known. What did he say to that?" He asked. her.
Alexithymiaa: "He said he was going to talk to CJ about it. He actually seemed pretty open to the idea. They've already got Hennessey and she's pretty friendly with other dogs." She smiled widely.-
Covet: "That's great. CJ will keep it reigned in too. Cause god only knows what your brother would pick out." Felix said.
Alexithymiaa: "Well their apartment is pretty small so I doubt he'd get a large breed. They just don't have the space for a big dog there. I'm just excited he's even considering it. And I specifically said a senior dog so if he does it, he's going to adopt a dog who's probably been in the shelter a long time."-
Covet: "I don't really see New York as a place for big breed anything." He said with a laugh.
Alexithymiaa: "It's not uncommon, it just feels kind of irresponsible. A large dog can't be kept in a one bedroom apartment all day long. It's just not fair."-
Covet: "That's like thoes people who keep their dogs in crates for over eight hours a day while they are at work." Felix said scrunching his nose up, before giving a yawn.
Alexithymiaa: "Yeah, I don't get it. I had to crate Penny when she was a puppy when I wasn't home, but it was never for more than a few hours at a time and I always took her for a walk before I crated her." She watched him yawn, standing up and turning to face him. "Come on, I'll get the bed all set up for you so you can get some sleep."-
Covet: "But I'm not tired." He said though anoher yawn as he went about leaning up, groaning out in pain as he got to his feet. " I feel like I was hit by a freight train. Oh wait..I kind of was."
Alexithymiaa: "Shut up, you are tired and you are getting into bed. At the very least to try to be comfortable and I'll turn the tv on for you before I jump in the shower." She watched him get up, slowly walking into the bedroom to pull the blankets back on the bed, beginning to prop the pillows up for him.-
Covet: "Yes ma'am." Felix said with a grumble as he followed behind her her and got himself into the prepared bed, with more complaining despite being told to shut up.
