  1. What I've had good success with a technique called Phasing.
  2.
  3. It's basically... You just lie down, close your eyes, place your focus on the darkness you see with your eyes closed and you notice what you see and experience. You don't pay any particular attention to anything you see, just notice it and keep watching relaxed. Just keep noticing what you're seeing and experience. Things will get more detailed as you keep your focus on just noticing what's happening.
  4.
  5. It starts small and builds up. The black becomes different hues of black. It might take on form likes clouds and then other shapes. You might notice a flash or impression of color, like a memory of what it looks like. It will happen more frequently, more detail, more color and stay longer. Soon it will "hang" there long enough for you to actually look at it instead of seeing it in a flash. You will probably already have had impressions including your other senses or you'll start to feel like "That dog's fur looks very soft and warm in the sunlight". It will become more life like, it will almost be like watching through a window, you might hear a noise to your side and you turn to see what it is and you realize that you just looked in another direction instead of it all playing out before you. You'll start to feel like your in a room and you can look around but it was so gradual that you don't realize that you're actually standing there in the dream and you're now able to move around and feel the things around you. Now go and pet that dog and see if its fur is as soft and warm as it looked.
