DEGARUTA! Episode 02

DEGARUTA! Episode 02: Our Journey Begins with a First Step! Truck-san Appears
After getting a good nights sleep, Xavier and Mike begin preparations for the Demon subjugation. The two are led into town by a retinue of guards and VIPs including a princess and the Prime Minister. Our heroes first prioritize registering as adventurers at the local Adventurers Guild, an act that their escorts do not understand but that both Heroes mutually inform them is a necessity. When asked to clarify, Mike tells them that as summoned heroes that there are rules and decorum that must be followed regardless of the situation. When pressed as to whether this is correct, Xavier asks them how many heroes they've summoned previously, as the group goes quiet indicating none, the heroes declare victory and register, allowing them the ability to take quests and travel across borders more easily.

The registration process allows them the unintended benefit of choosing their job classes, gifting them with basic abilities. Xavier chooses the Rogue/Thief class. Mike chooses Magic-Knight. When Mike asks if they should wait until they find out if they have a cheat skill so they can synergize the class with it, Xavier waves it a way as being not important right now, since its still unknown if they both have cheat skills or any.

After a brief dispute between the two over what they should prioritize first: Gear or gathering a party, the 2 decide to split up. Mike is accompanied by the Prime Minister, Xavier who defeated Mike in Rock Paper Scissors is shown around by the eldest Princess, Elendi Irustel, and her royal guard. Xavier goes shopping for gear with plans to explore the local library as well. Mike decides to check the local taverns for people with useful information about the country outside the castle town, and if anyone is willing to journey with them.

During this time, Mike is shocked to see the last thing he ever expected to run into in a medieval fantasy world, an Isuzu Elf barreling down the road straight at him. He makes a break for it, the windows are tinted and he is unable to see the identity of the driver. The Guards and Prime Minister dive for cover but the mysterious Truck is targeting only Mike. Ducking through several alley's and crossing several roads, the Truck manages to find him where ever he goes, after a brief chase Mike notices that its ability to find him borderlines on impossible as some of these places are not accessible from where the Truck is emerging. Finally in a daring escape, Mike forces the truck to crash into a building hoping to total it, instead he is shocked to see the truck glow with a bright light and phase right through the wall and vanish. Just what the heck is going on!?

The attack is over, but the questions still remain, just what the hell was that, and why was it attacking?
