During the early ages of humanity, the gas giant of Bardoton was colonized by humanity creating vast networks of floating cities above the swirling gas storms of the planet. Glittering spires reached up into the heavens and down to harvest the twirling gases below while men fly in hypersonic crafts through the pale pink skies. With a population that eclipses some hiveworlds the technology for the creation of these cities is lost to time. While war was common between the floating cities to avoid damaging these ancient structures highly ritualized high-octane dogfights between Aces.
	Within the floating cities were governed by various guilds which dominated every facet of the economy and culture. Wealth was extremely concentrated within the upper one percent while the masses languished in poverty or at least they did before the rise of Avent Archambeau!
-Biography:
     Adopted by a pair of merchant skiff operators Avent spent his formative years upon the open sky traveling across all of Bardotan and visiting the various sky cities. A wild and impulsive child his parents spent a great deal of time trying to keep him out of trouble, bailing him out of jail and stopping him from gambling away whatever money he got his hands on. During one of these port stops he would gain his first taste of high octane skiff racing and would become addicted to racing and daredevil stunts. He gained a name for himself challenging the great racers of Bardotan and flying deeper into the storms than any other before him. It was just before one of these races however that word would reach him of his parents death at the hands of sky pirates. Using his most recent winnings to outfit his racing skiff with weaponry he led a one man war against the pirates. Above the floating city of Chevasson he engaged in an aerial duel with the Pirate Captain shooting him down becoming the hero of the city and avenging his parents.
	For the next few years, Avent spent his years representing Chevasson as their Ace spending his time either fighting in the skies or losing himself in the pleasures of the flesh living a hollow existence. During one of his benders he ended up in the lower levels of Chevasson among the destitute and impoverished masses, the sort of people he had run with in his youth. Taking to the skies once more he began to rally together a fleet of rebels, daredevils, and former pirates to fight against the oppressive guild system which dominated the floating cities. Chevasson would be first to fall with many other cities flipping to join his Free Cities Alliance ending a system of oppression and freeing themselves from the shackles of the guilds.
	Eventually, however the war would end with the Tragedy of Chevasson with the Guild forces bombarding the floating city and sinking into the storms below. This would throw Avent into a rage leading a daring raid to finish off the last Guild Strongholds and putting the last of the leadership to the sword. It was in the wake of this great victory and failure that the Emperor would arrive revealing Avent’s true heritage and showing him his place in the Great Crusade. He would rename his Legion from the Raptors of Terra to the Celestial Zephyrs after the merchant vessel that his parents once owned.
During the Great Crusade he would often find himself at odds with both his brothers and his father being a free spirited man becoming part of the intensely autocratic Empire that cared little for individuality. The war with the Diasporex was exceptionally hard for him torn between his loyalty to his father and his ideals, at least against the most vile of xenos races he could see his actions as good. Amongst his brothers there is one who truly enrages Avent above all, Makena Tayo.
   While working together to bring the planet of Prothain III, a large producer of promethium fuel, the Celestial Zephyrs lured the majority of the rulers army into a decisive battle destroying his army. Avent knew the renmants were sure to surrender and moved on to their capital city to secure his final victory. To his surprise, he would find only a smoking ruin full of corpses occupied by the Makena Tayo and his Rust Crushers. Enraged at this senseless destruction Avent would engage his brother in a brutal fistfight that would end with both brother’s being carried off by their legionnaires unconscious. This bad blood would fester turning into a bitter rivalry between the two legions.

-Legion: Celestial Zephyrs

	Formerly the Raptors of Terra the Celestial Zephyrs Legion is focused on a combined rapid air and ground assault. While many Legions have relegated the Xiphon Interceptor to a support role it is still used as the mainstay fighter for the Celestial Zephyrs who much to the chagrin of the Adeptus Mechanicus send a great deal of time customizing and improving their fighters. This does not mean they do not use the Storm Eagle they use it more in a support roll for their mobile ground forces. The ground forces of extensively utilize Jump Packs, All Terrian Combatbikes, Jetbikes and all variety of Land Speeders. They have also worked with the Mechanicus to design the Sabre Strike Tank and have received many of the first models due to this cooperation. Due to the abundance of this archotech on Bardotan, many officers within the Legion are equipped with Plasma and Charnabal weapons allowing them to dispatch heavily armored foes with ease. A fierce rivalry exists between the Celestial Zephyrs and the Rust Crushers due to their primarchs, with each legion competing with each other to gain greater parts of the glory throwing themselves into riskier and riskier engagements to “win”.

-First Captain: Cleménce Bourreau, a faithful friend and companion of Avent throughout all his life. A brawny mustachiod man covered in tattoos he lives to drink, brawl and enjoy life. He considers much of Terran legionaries to be rather boring but does his best to bring levity to the legion even in the direst of circumstances. A very capable commander if every bit as brash and arrogant as his primarch.

-Equerry: Alphonse Beaulieu, the man with the plan behind the daring exploits of Avent and Clemence. A wiry and balding man before his transformation into a legionnaire he is known by all as the true brains behind the successful rise of the Free Cities Alliance being known to temper the daredevil streak of his Primarch.
