Reasoning: Saphia has always wanted to heal, it's part of why she joined the suit of wands. Recently, said suit was attacked by a black, yellowed eyed...thing that she was useless to fight, and unable to heal her fallen comrades, disappointing her leader. She also learned that apparently, the Namekians cannot teach it to her as a racial. So, she has been determinately diving into herself and trying to forcefully figure out this sort of... magical energy healing. Cause if the Nameks can do it, then surely she can to? There's also a small part of her who wants it due to Araman. Stupid elf and his endless friendly fire blasts of doom. It is NOT fun getting knocked out or others getting knocked out because he can't control his spray of blasts.
